The Sprite Mastery Strongbox unlocks after you master seven Treasure Hunters Sprites in Fortnite, and you do not need the Battle Pass. Each mastery normally requires a Sprite to reach Level 5 and then be extracted, so collecting seven without finishing that process won't get you the Back Bling. You have until December 5, 2026. The best approach is to earn Sprite XP while looting, add combat and extraction bonuses when practical, and secure each Level 5 Sprite before risking another fight.

What do you need to unlock the Strongbox?

The Strongbox is the seventh milestone in Part 1 of Treasure Hunters Sprite Mastery. Completing that milestone earns its base style for free. Additional Strongbox styles will arrive later in the mini-season and will also be unlocked through Sprite Mastery.

For most Sprites, the requirement is Level 5 plus extraction. Reaching the level cap is only the first half of that process. Your match routine should look like this:

  1. Equip a Treasure Hunters Sprite you want to master.
  2. Earn Sprite XP until it reaches Level 5.
  3. Extract that Sprite before the match ends.
  4. Repeat until you have mastered seven Sprites.

The Sweet Dreams Sprite is the exception: it extracts automatically at Level 5. Every other Sprite needs you to complete the extraction yourself.

Which rewards do you earn before the Strongbox?

Treasure Hunters gives you a reward at each of the first seven mastery milestones. The Strongbox sits at the end of Part 1, but the earlier milestones also award Sprite Dust and extraction Gizmos.

340,000 XP
4Portable Extractors ×3

6Extraction Accelerators ×5

The fourth and sixth milestones are particularly relevant to the remaining grind because they award Portable Extractors and Extraction Accelerators. Keep those rewards in mind as you work toward the seventh mastery rather than focusing only on the cosmetic at the end.

How can you earn Sprite XP quickly?

Eliminations offer the biggest Sprite XP gains, while containers provide a predictable way to level without relying on combat. If you last worked on Klombo Sprite leveling during Chapter 7 Season 4, focus this Strongbox hunt on the Treasure Hunters roster and the XP methods below.

Build Sprite XP into normal looting

Chests, barrels, produce boxes, and ammo containers each award 75 Sprite XP when opened or destroyed. Keep the Sprite you are leveling equipped while you loot so those routine interactions contribute toward Level 5.

Container XP is the sensible foundation for a lower-risk mastery run. You can make progress without finding opponents, and the same activity works solo or with a squad. Combat can speed things up, but it does not need to carry the entire grind.

Use squad fights without chasing every elimination

Squads offer another advantage: assists award Sprite XP. You can contribute to a fight and still advance your equipped Sprite when a teammate gets the elimination.

The risk changes as you approach Level 5. Early combat can provide a large XP boost, but another elimination becomes less attractive once your Sprite is ready to extract. Protecting completed leveling is more useful to this unlock than gambling it on one more fight.

When should you extract your Sprites?

Extract your target Sprite once it reaches Level 5. That is the step that completes mastery for every Sprite except Sweet Dreams, which handles extraction automatically.

Extract after reaching Level 5

Extraction also contributes to leveling, so it belongs in your routine before the final mastery step. Extracting another Sprite while your target remains equipped gives that equipped Sprite an XP bonus. You also earn Sprite Dust through extraction, which can be spent on items and services.

Why are duplicate Sprites still useful?

Extracting a duplicate passively levels that Sprite inside your Sprite Collection. That gives duplicates a purpose beyond finding something new: they can advance a Sprite you are already collecting.

Keep the two extraction benefits separate. Extracting another Sprite can help the one you have equipped, while extracting a duplicate also advances that duplicate's collection level. Neither changes the basic mastery requirement: your target must reach Level 5 and be extracted.

Which Sprites can the Strongbox display?

The Sprite Mastery Strongbox displays mastered Treasure Hunters Sprites. Older Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites, including the Mega Man Sprite, cannot be displayed in this Back Bling.

Display support arrives one update behind the Sprite releases. The launch Sprites are scheduled to become displayable with the Week 2 update, while further Strongbox styles arrive later through Sprite Mastery.

When do new Sprite Mastery tracks arrive?

New Sprite Mastery tracks release on Saturdays at 9 AM ET (6 AM PT). Four tracks are planned across Treasure Hunters, each with its own mastery rewards. Part 1 contains the seven-mastery Strongbox unlock detailed above.

Will the Strongbox appear in the Item Shop?

Epic Games has not announced whether the Sprite Mastery Strongbox will be sold in the Item Shop later. The free unlock runs until December 5, 2026, so completing the mastery requirement is the established way to get it during Treasure Hunters.

Finish your seven Sprite masteries before December 5, 2026, with extraction as the final step of each leveling run. For your next collection goal, browse the Fortnite guide collection.
