Burnt Peanut Sprite in Fortnite: How to ...

The Burnt Peanut Sprite is the rarest Sprite in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and it earns that title. With a 1.5% spawn rate and a loot ability that can drop Mythic items straight from eliminations, this tiny companion has a massive impact on how a match plays out. The problem is finding one in the first place.

Where to find the Burnt Peanut Sprite

Unlike most Sprites in Chapter 7 Season 3, the Burnt Peanut Sprite has no fixed spawn location. You cannot drop into a specific POI and expect it to be sitting there. The only way to get it is through chest RNG, which means patience and volume are your best tools.

Two chest types can produce the Burnt Peanut Sprite, both sitting at a 1.5% drop chance:

  • Sprite Chests — new to Chapter 7 Season 3, these are specifically designed to drop higher-tier Sprites including the Burnt Peanut
  • Relic Chests (also called Rare Chests) — the blue chests that already drop premium loot like Seven Sliders; they share the same 1.5% odds

Regular chests do not appear to offer the Burnt Peanut Sprite at all based on available data, so skip them and route your drops around areas with high Sprite Chest and Relic Chest density.

What makes this Sprite different from others?

The Burnt Peanut Sprite is the only Sprite in Chapter 7 Season 3 based on a real person. Every other Sprite in the pool draws from elemental or abstract themes. That novelty aside, its actual value comes from the ability, which is where things get interesting.

What does the Burnt Peanut Sprite do?

The Burnt Peanut Sprite is a loot-amplifier. After you eliminate an opponent, it gives you a chance to spawn bonus high-tier loot on the spot. Here is how the scaling works:

At max level, you have a 60% chance to receive bonus loot from every elimination, with a separate 10% modifier that pushes that loot into Mythic territory. That is a significant swing in late-game loadout quality, especially in scenarios where the storm is closing and you have no time to loot normally.

Compared to combat-focused options like the Fire Sprite or healing-focused picks like the Water Sprite, the Burnt Peanut Sprite fills a different role entirely. It does not help you survive a fight directly. It rewards you for winning one, which makes it a strong pick for aggressive, high-elimination playstyles.

How to keep the Burnt Peanut Sprite after finding it

Finding the Sprite is only half the job. If you die before extracting it, you lose it permanently for that session. The Burnt Peanut Sprite does not stay in your collection until you complete a successful Sprite extraction at an Extraction Site.

Once extracted, the Sprite is added to your permanent collection. From that point, you can deploy it in future matches as long as you have the required Sprite Dust. If you lose a Sprite before extraction, check the guide on recovering lost Sprites for your options.

Is the Burnt Peanut Sprite worth farming?

At 1.5% odds, farming specifically for the Burnt Peanut Sprite is a grind. Opening 67 chests on average means multiple full matches of chest-focused routing with no guarantee of a drop. That said, the ability payoff at max level is one of the strongest in the game for players who rack up eliminations.
