New Snezhnaya Maps : r/Genshin_Impact

Genshin Impact version 7.0 finally delivers Snezhnaya, the long-awaited Cryo nation that players have been anticipating since the game launched. The region is enormous, split across five distinct zones, each with its own cities, dungeons, and lore-heavy landmarks. If you jump in without a roadmap, you will spend hours wandering frozen terrain without hitting the best spots first. Here is a full breakdown of every confirmed Snezhnaya map location so you know exactly where to head.

What are the five main zones of Snezhnaya?

The Snezhnaya map is divided into five major sections: Flamefeather Valley, Volkodlak Tundra, Fellfrost Peak, Everfrozen Earth, and White Birch Snowgrave. Each zone has a distinct identity, and some are dramatically different from the frozen wasteland you might expect from a Cryo nation.

tip
Everfrozen Earth is the densest zone for services and story content. Head there early to unlock the Blacksmith and Adventurer's Guild before grinding other areas.

Genshin Impact Guide: All Snezhnaya Map Locations

Flamefeather Valley

Flamefeather Valley is the most unexpected part of the Snezhnaya map. Rather than frozen tundra, this underground zone features an autumn-themed biome with entirely new lifeforms. The visual contrast to the surface world above is striking.

The big catch here is access: Flamefeather Valley can only be entered in TPS (third-person shooter) mode, which is a new traversal mechanic introduced in version 7.0. This zone is tightly tied to a world quest, so the full scope of what is down there unfolds through story progression rather than open exploration.

Two confirmed points of interest sit inside the valley: Okurov and Teeming Mire. Both are worth finding once you unlock the relevant quest.

Volkodlak Tundra

Volkodlak Tundra covers the southern section of the Snezhnaya map and is where most players will first set foot in the region. The city of Sretomorozsk serves as the entry point, functioning as Snezhnaya's introductory hub in the same way Mondstadt or Liyue Harbor did for earlier nations.

Two other notable locations sit in this zone: Rankova Zorya, a secondary city, and the Hunter's Cabin, which is a smaller landmark likely connected to exploration quests or NPC storylines. The tundra setting here is more navigable than the eastern zones, making it a good place to get your bearings before pushing into harsher terrain.

tip
Sretomorozsk is the first major city you encounter in Snezhnaya. Unlock its waypoints before venturing further north or east.

Fellfrost Peak

Fellfrost Peak occupies the eastern portion of the map and is described as mostly barren with difficult terrain. That means platforming challenges, environmental hazards, and probably more than a few falls if you rush through it.

Three locations define this zone: Tidesong Cavern, House of Hesperides, and the city of Svetloledovka. The House of Hesperides name carries obvious mythological weight, suggesting this is a lore-significant location rather than a simple dungeon. After testing traversal across Snezhnaya's eastern cliffs, the footing here is genuinely unforgiving compared to other zones, so bring a character with reliable mobility.

Everfrozen Earth: the heart of Snezhnaya

Everfrozen Earth is the central zone and the most content-dense area on the map. Snezhnograd is the region's capital city and its largest settlement, packed with services, story beats, and unique sub-locations.

Within Snezhnograd and the surrounding Everfrozen Earth area, you will find:

  • Korolevskiy Theater: a cultural landmark with likely event and quest ties
  • Druzhna HQ: a faction headquarters with obvious story relevance
  • Zapolyarny Palace: home of the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa, making this one of the most story-critical locations in the entire game
  • Adventurer's Guild: your standard commission and exploration hub
  • Kuznets Blacksmith: where you craft Snezhnaya-specific weapons
  • Central Station: a transit hub connecting parts of the region
  • Morepesok, Glupov, Jack Frost Village, and Kvasnik: smaller settlements and points of interest scattered across the zone
  • Sanctuary of Grief: a more somber landmark that sounds tied to Snezhnaya's lore
warning
Zapolyarny Palace is almost certainly locked behind main story quest progression. Do not expect to walk in on arrival.

For players working through character materials while exploring the new region, the Genshin Impact Prune materials farming guide covers Snezhnaya-era resources you will need for version 6.6 characters.

White Birch Snowgrave

White Birch Snowgrave is the final major zone and carries significant lore weight. Two locations define it: the Pilgrimage to the Sacred Gorge route and the Pale Crown Palace at its end.

The pilgrimage path structure suggests this is a journey-style area where the route itself is part of the experience, not just a fast-travel destination. Like Flamefeather Valley, White Birch Snowgrave is connected to a major world quest, so the full story context will only reveal itself through playing the relevant content. Spoiling what happens at the Pale Crown Palace would ruin what sounds like one of Snezhnaya's most significant story moments.

How to plan your Snezhnaya exploration efficiently

With five zones and dozens of named locations, the most efficient approach is to move roughly south to north:

  1. Land in Volkodlak Tundra and unlock Sretomorozsk waypoints
  2. Push to Everfrozen Earth to access the Blacksmith and Adventurer's Guild early
  3. Clear Fellfrost Peak at your own pace, but expect rough terrain
  4. Return to Flamefeather Valley when the relevant world quest triggers
  5. Save White Birch Snowgrave for last since it appears to be the story climax

If you are also farming materials for newer characters while exploring Snezhnaya, the Nicole materials and farming guide has a full schedule for version 6.6.
