Get Fairy Wormwood in Genshin Impact by collecting plants in Teplo Oasis and Crystal-Tree Grotto, buying from Vlasta, or claiming Valeriy's test-run rewards.
Start with the oasis for the largest gathering route, then add the grotto as you progress through its World Quest. Fairy Wormwood is a Snezhnaya Local Specialty used for Valeriy's ascensions. A Seelie chest also provides an extra batch during your first visit, while Serenitea Pot gardening offers another way to grow it.
Where to find Fairy Wormwood
Fairy Wormwood looks like a yellowish fern with inward-curling leaves and crystal-like deposits. Search grassy ground, tree bases, and riverside patches in Teplo Oasis, east of Downtown Novokitezhgrad.
The two gathering areas contain 79 plants in total. The chest reward is separate from these wild pickups.

Teplo Oasis has a Teleport Waypoint available by default, so you can visit before reaching it naturally through the quest. Unlocking a waypoint does not replace the progression needed for the complete gathering route.
Use the item tracker and a specialty passive
Use the material's built-in tracker to find gathering areas without searching every patch of grass:
- Open Fairy Wormwood's item details.
- Find the Source section.
- Select Go to Collect.
- Open the map and travel to the blue search circles.
The tracker marks general collection areas and shows the amount available there. Use it to choose your next search area, then check the ground for individual plants.
Track Fairy Wormwood clusters
Put Alyosha or Odette in your party to display nearby Snezhnaya Local Specialties on the mini-map. Their passives complement the tracker by helping you locate pickups within its broader search circles.
Alyosha is available for free through progression in Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act I. Use him if you need a specialty-finding character without obtaining Odette.
Fairy Wormwood farming route
Clear the oasis before moving underground. Its larger supply makes it the priority when you have limited time, while the grotto provides a smaller route organized around its waypoints and broken bridge.
Teplo Oasis route
Begin at the oasis Teleport Waypoint and use the cart tracks, northern bridge, large building, and Statue of the Seven as landmarks.
Follow the oasis gathering loop
Follow this gathering order:
- Search the cart tracks leading toward the bridge. This stretch contains 14 Fairy Wormwood. Check beside the tracks and around nearby trees.
- Cross the northern bridge. Sweep the grassy fields around the large building.
- Move toward the eastern waterside. Look along the river and at tree bases, including the patches behind market stands.
- Check around the Statue of the Seven. Several plants grow together beneath a nearby tree.
- Finish the roadside and entrance patches. Search around the entrance stations, wooden fences, carts, and lampposts.
Several oasis plants grow in groups of two or three. Walk around the full base of each tree before leaving a marked area, especially beside the river.
For less obvious pickups, check the gazebo by the water, the bridge near Vuzlev, and the farm-tool rack beside Throndov. Plants also sit outside the cave entrance associated with Dark Clouds in a Wine Bottle and on a small ledge overlooking the trail.
Crystal-Tree Grotto route
Use the grotto's waypoints to split its pickups into short searches. The route includes plants near the Cracked Black Crystal puzzle area, along the western path, beside the broken bridge, and around the northern waypoint.
Collect the groups in this order:
- Pick up three plants around the Cracked Black Crystal puzzle area.
- Teleport to the western waypoint and gather seven along the path.
- Turn toward the broken bridge for two more.
- Travel to the northern waypoint and collect the remaining seven nearby.
Check behind crystal trees and walls when a mini-map marker appears close but no plant is visible. Other useful landmarks include the waterfall, the sunken house near a waypoint, and the broken pillar beside a purple bush.
Open the Seelie chest for nine extra plants
Crystal-Tree Grotto contains a chest behind a barrier that awards nine Fairy Wormwood. This is a one-time reward, not part of the repeating plant route.
Look behind the building by the waypoint for a Seelie. Guide it back to its court, then enter the building and open the chest. Collect this bonus while clearing the grotto so you do not need a separate return trip.
Buy Fairy Wormwood and get bonus materials
Wild gathering provides most of the material, but purchases and trial rewards can cover a small shortfall without another complete route.
Buy from Vlasta in Downtown Novokitezhgrad
Visit Vlasta's Fluffy Gloves shop in Downtown Novokitezhgrad. She stocks up to five Fairy Wormwood at 1,000 Mora each, making a full purchase cost 5,000 Mora.
Buy only the quantity you need if you are close to an ascension requirement. The shop has limited stock and refreshes periodically, so check its inventory before counting on another purchase.
Claim Valeriy's test-run reward
When Valeriy's trial is available, open the event menu, complete his Test Run, and claim its reward. It includes three Fairy Wormwood and other materials for his first ascension.
Use this reward before planning your remaining gathering. Its small quantity is particularly useful when you only need a few plants to reach the next ascension requirement.
Grow Fairy Wormwood in the Serenitea Pot
Fairy Wormwood can also be grown through Serenitea Pot gardening. Use gardening to supplement your gathering route when you are preparing materials over several sessions.
How to collect enough Fairy Wormwood for Valeriy
Valeriy needs 168 Fairy Wormwood across all ascensions. Two complete wild gathering runs provide 158, leaving a shortfall of 10 if you start with none.
Choose a plan based on whether the grotto chest and trial rewards remain unclaimed:

The chest-and-shop plan reaches the target exactly. The trial plan avoids that purchase and leaves two plants beyond the full ascension requirement. If you already claimed the chest, use another gathering visit or shop stock to cover the difference.
Respawn time and co-op gathering
Wild Fairy Wormwood respawns 48 real-world hours after collection. Each plant's timer starts when you pick it up; the daily server reset does not shorten the wait.
If a plant is still missing after its timer has elapsed, teleport far away and return, or log out and back in before checking again.
You can gather more immediately by joining another Traveler's world and asking permission to collect their plants.
Check how many plants Valeriy still needs before starting another full clear. If the shortfall is small, collect only the nearest groups or buy the remaining amount from Vlasta.
