How do you unlock Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana?
The quest unlocks automatically once you finish A Tower Unto Wisdom and Folly, the first part of the Of Myriad Paths, Flux, and Dissolution questline. There is no separate unlock trigger to hunt down. Finish that quest, and this one opens immediately.
Before you can reach Act X at all, you need to have completed Song of the Welkin Moon: Act IX and be at Adventure Rank 28 or above. If you are catching up on the story, the Focused Experience Mode and Quick Start functions are both available for Act IX onward, so you are not locked out by older quest requirements.

Full walkthrough: step by step
Head to King Deshret's Mausoleum entrance
Your first objective is to regroup at the entrance to King Deshret's Mausoleum. Approach Nahida at the marked location to trigger a long cutscene that lays out the plan for retaking Sumeru City. Do not rush past the dialogue here as it sets up the context for everything that follows.
Fight through to the port
After the cutscene, you take control of a party built around Cyno, Candace, and Dehya. Your goal is to push through enemy groups and reach the port below Sumeru City so the mercenaries waiting there can enter the city. This section is straightforward combat with no particular gimmicks. Keep the team healthy and move efficiently.

Once the mercenaries are inside, continue clearing enemies with the same trio. The Fatui presence in the area is substantial, but the auto-revive mechanic (more on that below) means you are not at risk of a hard fail here.
Enter the Sanctuary of Surasthana by stealth
While Cyno's group handles the bulk of the Fatui forces, the Traveler splits off with Wanderer and Tighnari to infiltrate the Sanctuary of Surasthana from a different angle. Follow the quest markers and avoid triggering unnecessary combat.

Connect to and explore Irminsul
Once inside the Sanctuary, the Traveler and Wanderer successfully enter Irminsul to locate Dottore. Follow the path forward. You will run into two types of obstacles:
- Standard barriers: Cleared by using Wanderer's Elemental Skill.
- Red moving shields: Temporarily destroyed by attacking them directly.
Keep moving forward until a cutscene triggers introducing Nicole, who appears as a glowing white orb guide inside Irminsul.
Follow Nicole's guidance
The red doors that Wanderer cannot open on his own require Nicole's help. She will float ahead of you, marking the correct route through Irminsul toward Dottore's location. Stay close and follow her path.
Evade the pursuit
Near the end of the Nicole guidance section, control shifts to the Traveler alone. You need to run from a pursuing threat while dodging obstacles in your path. This is a timed evasion sequence, not a combat encounter. Keep moving and do not stop to fight.
How do you defeat Dottore in this quest?
The Dottore confrontation plays out across three distinct phases, and the rules change meaningfully between them.
Phase 1: Your characters deal damage but Dottore will not fall. All you need to do is survive and let the story dialogue play out in the background. If your characters drop to zero HP, they revive instantly with no limit on the number of times this happens.
Phase 2: Nahida joins your party. Push Dottore's HP down to a threshold that triggers a cutscene where Nahida activates her Elemental Burst and temporarily disappears. Again, you cannot fully defeat him here. The same unlimited auto-revive applies.
Phase 3: This is the real fight. Use the combined Elemental Bursts of Wanderer and the Traveler together for maximum damage output. After Dottore falls, a lengthy cutscene reveals his past, the full story of his clones, his death, and his deal with Regrator.

Tips to get through the quest efficiently
- Wanderer is your primary tool inside Irminsul. His Elemental Skill clears the majority of obstacles in the exploration section. Keep his energy topped up before entering.
- The evasion sequence requires movement, not combat. Trying to fight during the pursuit phase wastes time. Sprint and dodge obstacles.
- Save your Elemental Bursts for Phase 3. The first two Dottore phases do not require them, and having both Wanderer's and the Traveler's Bursts ready for the final phase makes it significantly faster.
- Read the Phase 1 and Phase 2 dialogue. The story beats during those fights are substantial. Skipping them means missing context for the final cutscene.
