The Blue Shark on Island 3 is one of those fights that looks straightforward until you get cornered by a coconut tree mid-reload. It has 2300 health, costs you a $280 lure to summon, and the Grillmaster won't touch his grill until you drag the body back to him. Get the fight right and you unlock a money multiplier that pays dividends for the rest of your run in How to Fish.
What do you need before heading to Island 3?
Two things matter before you cast: the right lure and enough firepower to burn through 2300 health without panicking.
The Standard Boss Lure
Ordinary lures won't surface the Blue Shark. You need a Standard Boss Lure, which costs $280 from the shop. Buy exactly one. Island boss lures are consumed on use every single time, so stocking extras before the fight just wastes money you could spend on gear.

Firepower benchmark
A maxed Uzi clears the shark's health cleanly and serves as the damage benchmark to aim for. You don't need that exact weapon, but whatever you bring should match that damage output with a manageable reload window. If you've already picked up extra inventory or hotbar slots, load them with healing fish before you leave. Those slots earn their keep in any boss fight.
How to beat the Blue Shark
Check out the How to Fish guides for context on other Island bosses if you're working through the full progression.
Step 1: Travel to Island 3
Head to Island 3 where the Grillmaster is waiting. The Blue Shark only spawns in this zone, so there's no shortcut.
Step 2: Cast the Standard Boss Lure
Equip the Boss Lure and fish. The shark surfaces to fight once the lure hits the water. The lure is gone the moment you cast it, so make sure you're ready before you throw.
Step 3: Map your movement lanes
Before the shooting starts, take a second to read the terrain. The coconut trees scattered across the island will box you in if you're not paying attention. Identify open lanes you can move through freely and keep those paths clear throughout the fight.

Step 4: Unload and stay mobile
Fire consistently with your Uzi or equivalent, keep moving through those open lanes, and time reloads for moments when you've created distance. The shark will occasionally snag on a coconut tree, which gives you a window of free damage. That's a bonus when it happens, not something you can count on.
Step 5: Carry the body to the Grillmaster
Once the shark is down, pick up the body and bring it back to the Grillmaster. The quest completes on delivery and the grill unlocks.

How does the grill work after you unlock it?
The grill is a value multiplier, plain and simple. Place any item over the flame and its sell price climbs from 1x toward 1.5x. Leave it too long and the item burns to nothing, dropping to 0 value. Press F while an item is cooking to check its current value in real time, then pull it at the 1.5x mark.
The multiplier works on guns and other items, not just fish. Anything you're about to sell is worth running through the grill first.
Is the Blue Shark the same as the Goblin Shark?
No, and the difference is significant. The Blue Shark has 2300 health and sells for $300. The Goblin Shark has 7500 health and sells for $6,200, making it the most valuable fish to run through the grill. Both weigh 70.0, but they're completely separate creatures. Only the Blue Shark satisfies the Island 3 Grillmaster quest.
