Life Is Strange: Reunion Revives One of ...

Moses has been running rewind practice sessions with Max Caulfield between the events of Double Exposure and Reunion, and now it's your turn to prove she hasn't lost her edge. Three tests stand between you and the real business of stopping Caledon University from burning down. Each one builds on the last, teaching you something new about how the rewind mechanic works. Here's exactly how to clear all three without breaking anything you shouldn't.

Test 1: Who killed Swordmaster Frostbite?

Moses opens with a pop-quiz about the anime No True Samurai, asking Max to name the character who killed Swordmaster Frostbite. Max freely admits she's no anime expert, which means you need to do some detective work before you can answer.

Where to find the poster

Turn away from Moses and head to the far side of the room. The No True Samurai poster is hung on the brick wall near a stepladder and some paint supplies. Examining it gives you plot context but stops short of naming the killer outright.

Where to find the Mina Hiramatsu figurine

Head upstairs. On top of the smaller metal bookcase to the right of the kettle, you'll spot a schoolgirl figurine. Pick it up and rotate it to read the base. The name printed there is Mina Hiramatsu.

With that name locked in Max's memory, trigger a full rewind to the moment before Moses asked the question. Walk up to him and select Mina Hiramatsu as your answer. Test one is done.

Test 2: How do you get Moses' mug out of the cabinet without breaking it?

The second test is the most involved of the three, requiring two separate rewinds and a bit of forward planning. Your job is to retrieve Moses' mug from a locked cabinet at his workstation.

Step-by-step solution

  • Grab the screwdriver sitting on the workbench above and slightly to the right of the cabinet, near a toolbox.
  • Use the screwdriver on the cabinet lock. The door breaks open, and the mug immediately flies out and shatters on the floor.
  • Rewind as far back as possible to restore the cabinet door and the intact mug. Now you know what's coming.
  • Find the cushion on Moses' computer chair, located on the opposite side of the stairs near his PC. Max automatically places it on the floor beneath the cabinet.
  • Open the cabinet again. This time the mug drops safely onto the cushion and stays in one piece.
  • Rewind once more to repair the cabinet door. The mug stays in your inventory even after this rewind.
  • Return to Moses and hand over the mug to finish the test.

The mug puzzle is the game's clearest lesson that rewinding once isn't always enough. You need to learn from a failed attempt, then use that knowledge in a second run. This same logic applies to several puzzles later in Reunion.

Test 3: How do you stop Moses from setting fire to his office?

The third test starts simply: Moses asks you to stand on an X marked on the floor while he prepares to drop his mug from the upper level. Before he can, his faulty kettle starts setting the table next to him on fire.

Saving Moses from the kettle

The moment the fire starts, rewind immediately to put it out. That solves the immediate problem, but the kettle will spark again unless you intervene.

Your goal is to run upstairs and unplug the kettle before it catches. The timing is tight, and you may not make it on the first try. Here's the key detail: Max's rewind ability doesn't reset her own position. You can sprint toward the kettle, rewind to just before it starts sparking, and pick up from wherever Max physically is when you trigger the rewind. This gives you a running head start and enough time to reach the plug and switch it off.

All three tests together take roughly 10 to 15 minutes if you know what you're looking for. After clearing them, the story opens up considerably as Moses and Max get down to the actual business of figuring out how to save the university.
