Season 10.5 of Marvel Rivals lands on October 9, 2026 at 9 AM UTC, and unlike some mid-season updates, this one actually reshapes the meta in meaningful ways. No new hero this time around, but NetEase is pushing 10 buffs and 3 nerfs across Vanguards, Duelists, and Strategists. Iron Man gets the most dramatic overhaul, Jubilee becomes a serious healing threat, and Gorr the God Butcher finally gets the trimming he needed.
Hulk is the standout Vanguard winner this patch. His Bruce Banner form gets two direct upgrades: Gamma Ray Gun projectile speed jumps from 80m/s to 120m/s, which makes landing shots at range far more consistent, and the gamma energy gained when Gamma Grenade hits self doubles from 50 to 100. That second change matters because it accelerates the path to Hulk form significantly.
The Wolverine team-up also gets stronger. Attack Speed and Movement Speed boosts upon entering Furious state both increase from 20% to 25%, the Health threshold to trigger Unstoppable rises from 300 to 400 HP, and the Unstoppable cooldown drops from 60 seconds to 45 seconds. More uptime on Unstoppable alone makes this team-up worth slotting.
Magneto is coming off nerfs from the previous season, and Season 10.5 gives him a small recovery through his Emma Frost team-up. Magnetic Resonance damage from the magnetic projection increases from 45% to 50%, and the projection's maximum duration extends from 5 seconds to 6 seconds. Not a massive shift, but it rewards players who commit to that pairing. For a full look at how Magneto was adjusted heading into this point, the Season 10 buffs and nerfs breakdown covers the context.
The Thing gets a quality-of-life improvement through his Invisible Woman team-up. The Unbreakable Forces cooldown drops from 20 seconds to 15 seconds, and the damage threshold required to trigger healing on the Enhanced Effect falls from 150 to 125. Faster access to that shield and easier healing triggers make the Fantastic Four pairing noticeably more fluid in extended fights.
Devil Dinosaur is the only Vanguard taking a hit, losing 25 HP from base health (850 down to 825). It's a minor trim, not a role change.

Marvel Rivals Season 10.5 Buffs and Nerfs: Every Hero Changes
Iron Man gets the biggest mechanical rework of the entire patch. His Micro-Missile Barrage now auto-tracks nearby enemies on release, which fundamentally changes how you use the ability. The trade-off is real: single-shot damage drops from 20 to 10, but the missiles lock onto targets automatically with a maximum of 5 locked per target, and projectile speed rockets from 15m/s to 60m/s. The same auto-tracking applies during Armor Overdrive, where per-shot damage drops from 15 to 10 with the same 5-lock cap. His Thor team-up also gets a boost, with Unibeam outer ring damage going from 70/s to 80/s and the Thunder Overdrive enhanced version rising from 85/s to 90/s. Whether the damage reduction is offset by the tracking consistency is something players will be stress-testing immediately after launch.
Cyclops gets a clean set of buffs across the board. Optic Blast single-hit damage ticks up from 22 to 23, the cooldown reduction per Optic Blast hit on Ricochet Force increases from 0.25 seconds to 0.3 seconds, and Ruby Rage's ultimate energy cost drops from 3700 to 3400. His Gambit team-up also extends Kinetic Kin from 6 seconds to 8 seconds. These are incremental improvements, but the cheaper ultimate especially means Cyclops can rotate Ruby Rage more often in drawn-out teamfights.
Hawkeye gets faster arrows and a wider hit window. Piercing Arrow projectile speed increases from a 130-195m/s range to 140-210m/s, and Hypersonic Arrow's initial damage spell field width grows from 3m to 5m. The Crescent Slash animation recovery is also slightly reduced. Two team-up bonuses round things out: the Psylocke pairing bumps Psionic Arrow single-shot damage from 32 to 33, and the Cloak and Dagger pairing now grants self-healing equal to the healing dealt when casting Moonlit Slash.
Phoenix trades her self-heal on Spark detonation for a different kind of survivability. Cosmic Flames single-shot damage goes from 60 to 65, direct Spark detonation damage rises from 40 to 45, and explosion damage climbs from 15 to 20. The removed self-heal is replaced by 5 Bonus Health per Spark detonation for 4 seconds, capped at 25. The Endsong Inferno ultimate now applies 2 Sparks per hit instead of 1 when the explosion spell field and shockwave connect, which effectively doubles the Spark-detonation potential on a good ultimate. The Hela team-up also gets a 2-second cooldown reduction.
Gorr the God Butcher is the most significant nerf target this patch. Shadow Scythe base damage drops from 55 to 50 (the 2% max health scaling stays), Shockwave damage falls from 60 to 55, and the Twilight of the Gods ultimate loses 2 seconds of duration (12s down to 10s). Living Abyss cooldown actually decreases from 15 seconds to 12 seconds, but Movement Speed during the ability drops from 13m/s to 10m/s. Gorr has been dominant since his arrival, and these adjustments target his burst windows without gutting his kit entirely.
Scarlet Witch takes a single targeted nerf: Chthonian Burst single-shot spell field damage decreases from 40 to 35. Her AoE zoning was overperforming at close range, and this brings it closer to where it should sit.
| Hero | Role | Change Type | Key Numbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hulk | Vanguard | Buff | Gamma Ray Gun 80m/s to 120m/s |
| Magneto | Vanguard | Buff | Resonance damage 45% to 50% |
| The Thing | Vanguard | Buff | Cooldown 20s to 15s |
| Devil Dinosaur | Vanguard | Nerf | HP 850 to 825 |
| Cyclops | Duelist | Buff | Ruby Rage cost 3700 to 3400 |
| Hawkeye | Duelist | Buff | Arrow speed 130-195 to 140-210m/s |
| Iron Man | Duelist | Rework | Missiles now auto-track |
| Phoenix | Duelist | Buff | Cosmic Flames 60 to 65 damage |
| Gorr the God Butcher | Duelist | Nerf | Ultimate duration 12s to 10s |
| Scarlet Witch | Duelist | Nerf | Chthonian Burst 40 to 35 |
| Adam Warlock | Strategist | Buff | Cosmic Cluster heal 16 to 18 |
| Gambit | Strategist | Buff | Stack charge time 8s to 7s |
| Jubilee | Strategist | Buff | Firework Finale 150/s to 180/s |
Jubilee is getting the most attention among Strategists, and rightfully so. She gains a new mechanic: 25 HP per second of continuous self-healing during Sparking Sprint, which addresses her survivability when she's out of position. The Dazzling Detonation blind duration drops from 1.5 seconds to 0.8 seconds (a nerf to that specific tool, but the tradeoff is worth it given the other gains). Her Blade team-up now adds a base effect of 15/s healing to surrounding allies for 6 seconds during Vampiric Kin. Most importantly, Firework Finale's spell field healing jumps from 150/s to 180/s, making her ultimate one of the stronger burst-heal tools in the game.
Gambit gets faster card charges and a longer staff duration. The charge time per stack for both Healing Hearts and Breaking Spades drops from 8 seconds to 7 seconds, meaning he generates resources quicker in sustained fights. Ragin' Royal Flush's target search range tightens from 40m to 30m and the Jump Boost effect on self and allies reduces from 500 to 300, which is a minor control trade. The Jubilee team-up extends Sparkling Staff duration from 1.5 seconds to 2 seconds.
Adam Warlock's Ultron team-up gets a small healing bump. Cosmic Cluster healing per hit goes from 16 to 18, and the explosion spell field healing while the team-up is active increases from 5 to 7. Small numbers, but Warlock's value comes from consistency rather than spikes.
Looking at the patch as a whole, Season 10.5 is clearly designed to bring up heroes that were sitting below the power curve while trimming the two most overtuned picks, Gorr and Scarlet Witch. Gorr's nerfs are the most substantive, touching his primary damage, shockwave, ultimate duration, and mobility during Living Abyss. Players who built their ranked strategies around him will feel the difference.
Iron Man's rework is the wildcard. Auto-tracking missiles are a fundamentally different playstyle from manual aiming, and the damage reduction means the ceiling on burst damage is lower but the floor on consistent damage is higher. Whether that trade is net positive depends entirely on how the tracking behaves in high-movement scenarios.
For players tracking how the meta has evolved across recent seasons, the Season 9.5 buffs and nerfs guide gives useful context on where heroes like Gambit and Jubilee started before these two rounds of adjustments.
