Mongil Star Dive Gabi: Best Build ...

Who is Gabi in Mongil Star Dive?

Gabi is a 5-star Earth Fighter from the Surah region, voiced in English by Victoria Grace. She fights with a Dokkaebi Bat, builds a unique resource called Spiritual Power, and can lock down enemies with Petrification while also buffing her entire team. According to Game8 and GameWith's community testing, she sits at T0.5 across all three major game modes: World/Path, Conquest, and Dimensional Rift. That consistency is rare. She has a slight ramp-up cost, but once her loop is running, she hits hard and keeps enemies frozen long enough for the rest of your team to do serious work.

How does Gabi's Spiritual Power loop work?

This is the core of everything Gabi does. Every fourth hit of her basic attack guarantees 1 stack of Spiritual Power and has a 50% chance to spawn a Rock. Destroying that Rock with Physical or Earth DMG deals 52% Physical DMG, Petrifies nearby enemies, and grants another stack of Spiritual Power. Once you hit 3 stacks, hold the basic attack button to trigger Crushing Blow.

Crushing Blow is the payoff. It deals 381.3% Earth DMG at base (429% in its enhanced form after your ultimate is active), inflicts Petrification, and gives Gabi 50% DMG reduction while active. Petrified enemies take an additional 50% Earth DMG when hit, so Crushing Blow into a Petrified target hits significantly harder than the raw number suggests.

Here's the part most players miss: after using the Hoorah! Switch Skill, Gabi gains Slugger's Will. If you then land a Crushing Blow during an enemy's special attack with Slugger's Will active, the special attack is neutralized and you immediately recover all 3 stacks of Spiritual Power. Against bosses with predictable attack patterns, this creates a loop where you can chain Crushing Blows back to back.

The ultimate skill: Dokkaebi's Domain

Gabi's ultimate, Dokkaebi's Domain, does several things at once. It deals 184.2% Earth DMG on cast, inflicts Petrification and Earth Affliction on enemies, and summons a Wooden Guardian Statue for 15 seconds. While the statue is active:

  • Basic attacks are enhanced, dealing Earth DMG and gaining attack speed with each hit (up to 4 stacks)
  • Spiritual Power regenerates passively over time
  • All teammates receive a 10% Earth DMG Boost and a 20% DEF Boost
  • Earth Affliction causes affected enemies to take Earth DMG over time and reduces their Earth and Physical resistance by 15%

The 15-second window is your burst phase. Pop the ultimate, let the enhanced basic attacks convert to Earth DMG, and the To Whom the Dokkaebi Kneel artifact's Earth DMG bonus activates on every hit.

What is the best build for Gabi?

Best artifact: To Whom the Dokkaebi Kneel

This is Gabi's signature artifact and there's no close second for a full Earth DPS build. At base, it increases Basic Attack DMG by 10% and boosts Earth DMG by 30% for 4 seconds after using a Basic Earth Attack. At max fusion, those numbers jump to 20% Basic Attack DMG and 60% Earth DMG. The additional fusion effects add up to 15% Crit DMG from Fighter proficiency at level 3, and up to 15% ATK from Fighter proficiency at level 5.

The synergy is direct: Gabi's ultimate converts all basic attacks to Earth DMG, meaning every hit during her burst window triggers the artifact's Earth DMG buff. The Crit Rate stat on the artifact (21% at max) also fills a stat gap without needing to chase Crit Rate on equipment.

Best equipment: West Wind (4-piece)

The West Wind set is the clear choice. The 2-piece bonus adds 8% Earth DMG for 3 seconds after any basic attack, and the 4-piece bonus adds a further 10% Earth DMG for 5 seconds after using a Switch Skill against an enemy with Earth Affliction. Since Gabi's ultimate applies Earth Affliction and her Switch Skill is part of the standard loop, both conditions trigger naturally.

The alternative is a 2-piece Military Officer's Courtesy plus 2-piece West Wind split. Military Officer's Courtesy gives 3% Earth DMG per critical hit with an Earth attack, and the 2-piece West Wind still provides the basic attack buff. This is a reasonable option if you don't have a full West Wind set, but the 4-piece bonus is worth going for.

Best monsterlings

For Gabi's monsterling slots, the recommended loadout according to Game8 is:

  • Slot 1 (Link Chain): Avardan — supports Earth-element attacker firepower team-wide
  • Slot 2: Taglock — after 20 attacks, Attack Power increases by 5.5% for 10 seconds
  • Slot 3: Rock Fist Dude — raises critical damage by 11% against staggered bosses

GameWith's testing also highlights Amon as a viable alternative to Taglock for raising overall team DPS. Either works; the choice depends on what you've managed to capture.

What is the best team for Gabi?

Mono-Earth team: Gabi, Ellie, Francis

This is the standard recommendation from both Game8 and GameWith. The rotation is straightforward:

  1. Switch to Ellie and break the enemy's Stagger Gauge
  2. Once the enemy is staggered, switch to Francis and activate his Switch Skill buffs
  3. Switch to Gabi with the buffs active, use her ultimate, and run the Crushing Blow loop

Francis's Switch Skill buffs stack with Gabi's own Earth DMG boosts, which is why this pairing is specifically recommended over other support options. Ellie handles the stagger setup so Gabi can attack freely without the enemy interrupting her combo.

Alternative support: Daisy

If you need healing, Daisy fits into the team. She provides continuous HP recovery for Gabi at the front line, keeps the party's health topped up with her ultimate, and her Earth resistance debuff adds to the team's overall damage output. She replaces Ellie in scenarios where survivability matters more than raw stagger control.

What are Gabi's best awakenings?

Awakenings (called Cantos in some sources) require Seed of Destiny items specific to Gabi. Not all of them are worth the same investment. Here's the priority order based on Game8 and GameWith ratings:

  • A6 (True Friends' Sworn Protector) — 5/5 priority. Doubles the Wooden Guardian Statue effect and doubles Gabi's Basic Attack and Crushing Blow DMG while the statue is active. The statue also periodically inflicts Petrification on enemies. This is a massive DPS multiplier and the single most impactful awakening.
  • A4 (Crush Any Obstacles!) — 4/5 priority. Crushing Blow deals 50% increased DMG against bosses, and the Petrification bonus DMG increases from 50% to 100%. Essential for Conquest content.
  • A2 (Big Swing Coming Up!) — 4/5 priority (GameWith rates this 4 stars vs Game8's 3 stars). Switch Skill now inflicts Petrification directly, the 4th basic attack always generates a Rock, and the Rock's Petrification range increases. Removes the 50% RNG from Rock generation, which tightens the loop considerably.
  • A1 (Just Hit a Bit Harder?) — 4/5 (GameWith) / 2/5 (Game8). Resets Special Skill cooldown on Crushing Blow and unlocks Spinning Bat Attack with 3 Spiritual Power stacks after the 2nd basic hit. The two sources disagree here; GameWith rates it higher, likely because the cooldown reset has more value in extended fights.
  • A3 (Brutal Dokkaebi Instincts) — 3/5. Increases all skill levels by 2 and adds 6% Basic Attack DMG. Solid but not transformative.
  • A5 (Descendant of Duoxini) — 1/5 (GameWith) / 3/5 (Game8). Skill level increases plus 6% Ultimate Skill DMG. The low GameWith rating suggests the ultimate DMG boost has limited practical impact compared to other options.

How to get Gabi

Gabi is available as a guaranteed unit from the New Friends Special Banner. After 50 pulls using Compasses of Promise, you can select her as your guaranteed character. She does not require luck to obtain from this banner, which makes her accessible to newer players who prioritize pulling on it early.

Gabi's stats at max level

Loading table...

The base Crit Rate of 5% is low, which is one reason the To Whom the Dokkaebi Kneel artifact's 21% Crit Rate at max is so valuable. It effectively quadruples her base Crit Rate without sacrificing any offensive stats.

Tier standing across game modes

According to Kaiden.gg's analysis, Gabi sits at T0.5 in all three modes. The breakdown:

  • World/Path: Strong sustained CC and an excellent ultimate for crowd control. Slightly slower to spin up than characters without a ramp-up mechanic, but consistently effective.
  • Conquest: Her ultimate is rated the best among the top three Fighters (Gabi, Sangun, Ophelia) for boss damage. Spiritual Power charges work well in extended encounters where you have time to build stacks.
  • Dimensional Rift: Reliable but slightly slower at AoE clearing than Sangun or Mina. Still a strong pick for timed content, just not the fastest option.

The honest assessment: Gabi is not the absolute best at any single mode, but she has no critical weakness either. If you pull her from the New Friends Special Banner early, she'll carry you through all content without needing a replacement.
