What You Need to Hang a Fish on a Car
Two things are required before any fish can go on display: a purple or golden fish from fishing, and a car fitted with a Rear Tow Hook. Both need to be sorted out before the option becomes available in the garage.
How to Catch the Right Fish
Catching fish in NTE is straightforward, and it gets even easier during the Fishing Frenzy event if it happens to be active. Head to any fishing spot on the map, equip a fishing rod along with some bait, and start fishing until a purple or golden fish shows up.
How to Get the Rear Tow Hook
The hook that holds the fish needs to be purchased at a car modification shop. Head to any shop, talk to the seller, and select the car that needs upgrading. From the Modify menu, choose Rear Tow Hook and pay the Fons cost to add the hook to that vehicle.
How to Lock the Fish for Display
Once the fish and hook are ready, the next step is locking the fish so it can actually be used. Open the map, head into Hethereau Hobbies, and select the fishing section. From there, open the Fish Hold and lock the specific purple or golden fish to keep it available for display.
How to Put the Fish on the Car
With everything in order, the final step happens through City Tycoon. Open City Tycoon, go to the garage, and select the car that already has the Rear Tow Hook installed. Choose the locked fish and press Use to mount it onto the back of the vehicle, ready to show off around the map.
How to Store Extra Fish
Anyone catching more purple and golden fish than they can use has an easy way to keep them from going to waste. Teleport to the nearest Luna Bay location (marked with a fish bowl icon) to purchase a fish tank, a fish tank decoration, fish food, and pH-balancing acid. Then fast travel to any owned house and place the tank to transfer extra fish in for storage.
Getting a fish mounted on a car in NTE really just comes down to fishing for the right rarity, installing the hook, and locking the catch before heading to the garage. It's a small detail, but it's a fun way to add some personality to a ride.
