Leaks suggest Epic Games is working on Call of Duty-style finishing moves for Fortnite. The proposed mechanic would let players eliminate knocked opponents.

That last detail separates this from Call of Duty's familiar rear executions. Instead of sneaking behind an active opponent, Fortnite's leaked system starts after the target has already been downed. The knock comes first, then the finisher.

Call of Duty is the obvious comparison, but execution animations also appear elsewhere in shooter games. Apex Legends uses character-specific finishers tied to each Legend's personality, abilities, and lore.

The claims circulating on November 3, 2026, also describe a supporting element:

  • “Finish Downed Players” quests connected to the mechanic.

The quest wording is especially direct: it names the same downed-player action at the center of the leak.
