FischFright is back for Halloween 2026, and this third edition is the biggest yet. The Roblox fishing game Fisch has added 44 limited-time catches to its bestiary pool, ranging from common candy-themed fish to rare Jack-o-Moon exclusives that only appear under very specific conditions. If you want 100% completion before the event closes, you need to know exactly which bait to pack, what weather to wait for, and when Trick or Treating is worth your time.
How does the FischFright 3 bestiary work?
Every fish in the FischFright 3 bestiary is exclusive to the Autumn season and only catchable during the event. You access the event area, called Caustic Hallow, by speaking to Captain Jack on the Haunted Ship at Moosewood Dock. Select the "I want to Travel" option and you'll be transported to the limited-time island.
Two main methods fill out your bestiary: regular fishing and Trick or Treating. Trick or Treating involves equipping the Candy Bucket from your inventory into the taskbar, then knocking on any of the houses on the island. When an NPC answers, choose the Treat option to receive candies or fish. The catch is that you won't land a bestiary fish every single visit. For serious completion runs, fishing is the more reliable route.
What are the Frightful Pools and why do they matter?
Several fish in the bestiary have an "Increased Chance" at specific Frightful Pools scattered across the event area. Three named pools appear in the data: the Grim Frightful Pool, the Doomed Frightful Pool, and the Vile Frightful Pool. Fishing at the right pool dramatically improves your odds on some of the rarer entries, so positioning matters as much as bait selection.
Three special items, the Coffin, Frightful Casket, and Jagged Bone, are also obtainable as Questline Rewards in addition to being catchable at Frightful Pools. The Coffin and Jagged Bone require no bait and no specific weather, making them among the easier entries to tick off once you're doing the questline anyway. The Frightful Casket uses a Magnet instead of standard bait.

What bait should you stock up on?
Looking at the full list, Black Licorice and Sour Jelly Candy cover the largest number of entries, with Black Licorice appearing in over a dozen fish requirements and Sour Jelly Candy not far behind. Taffy Pieces handles a solid cluster of daytime and windy-weather catches. Licorice (standard, not Black) covers the Broomstick Bass, Decayed Dace, Haunted Haddock, and Licorice Lamprey. Stock all four bait types before you start a session.
Hallow-Pop is a niche pick needed for the Crypt Crab and Jack-o-Angler, both of which are night catches. Candy Corn Cluster appears as an alternative for the Cobweb Cod, Mummy Mackerel, and Tombstone Tuna. The Gobstopper is listed as an alternative for the Gargoyle Grouper alongside Taffy Pieces.
How to catch the hardest fish in FischFright 3

Jack-o-Moon exclusives
The toughest cluster in the bestiary requires the Jack-o-Moon weather condition combined with Night timing. This group includes Dobhar, Doomed Relic, Doomed Skull, Eldritch Relic, Eldritch Skull, Grim Relic, Headless Halibut, Jack-o-Angler, and both Ghoul Nessie and Zombie Nessie. Jack-o-Moon is a special weather event, so you'll need to wait for it to roll in rather than forcing it.
For Dobhar, head to the Doomed Frightful Pool where it has an increased spawn rate. Ghoul Nessie and Zombie Nessie are tied specifically to the Haunted Cemetery Event on top of requiring Jack-o-Moon and Night, making them the two most conditional catches in the entire bestiary.
Plush Nessie
Plush Nessie deserves its own mention. It's listed as an "Extremely Rare Reward obtained via Trick or Treating" and uses Sour Jelly Candy as bait. This is the one entry where Trick or Treating is the only non-fishing path, and even then the drop rate is extremely low. Factor in extra Trick or Treat runs specifically for this one.

Tips for finishing the bestiary fast
- Complete the questline first to lock in the Coffin, Frightful Casket, and Jagged Bone without weather dependency.
- During Jack-o-Moon nights, fish exclusively at the Doomed Frightful Pool to target Dobhar and clear the Jack-o-Moon cluster simultaneously.
- Batch your Foggy sessions: Alchemist Alligator, Gargoyle Grouper, Skeleton Sturgeon, Vile Relic, Vile Skull, and Voodoo Vendace all share that condition, so one foggy session can knock out six entries.
- Keep Taffy Pieces and Black Licorice as your default bait swaps since they cover the widest spread of entries across different weather types.
- Check the weather before each session and match your bait inventory to whatever is currently active rather than waiting for a specific condition to roll in.
