Anime Galaxies does something most Roblox tower defense games refuse to do: it lets you choose your traits instead of gambling for them. No reroll tokens wasted, no RNG heartbreak. You spend Trait Crystals, hit a milestone, and pick exactly what you want. The system still demands a serious grind (400 Crystals for Mythic), but at least every Crystal spent moves you toward a specific goal. Here's how to spend them wisely.

Trait selection at each milestone
How does the Anime Galaxies trait system work?
Traits unlock at four Crystal investment milestones per unit. Each milestone gives you a free pick from that rarity tier, so there's no wasted progress if you know what you're aiming for before you start spending.
| Trait Crystals Invested | Trait Rarity Unlocked |
|---|---|
| 10 | Rare |
| 30 | Epic |
| 100 | Legendary |
| 400 | Mythic |
The gap between Legendary (100) and Mythic (400) is steep. Plan your farm unit investment carefully before committing to that final push, because 400 Crystals per unit adds up fast across a full team.
What are the best Mythic traits in Anime Galaxies?
Galactic and Chosen sit above everything else at Mythic rarity, but they serve different needs.
Galactic delivers a 250% damage increase, which is one of the largest single stat boosts in the game. The catch is a one-placement restriction: you can only field one copy of that unit. On a dedicated carry that you were already running as a singleton, that restriction costs you nothing. On a unit you normally stack multiple copies of, it's a real tradeoff.
Chosen trades raw ceiling for flexibility. It combines extra damage, reduced cooldowns, and extended range without any placement penalty. For most team compositions, Chosen is the safer pick because it improves the unit across every stage without forcing you to rebuild your setup.
Best Legendary traits: which one should you pick?
Hyper Speed leads the Legendary tier. A 22.5% cooldown reduction translates to roughly 29% more attacks over the same time window, assuming the unit stays in combat. That extra attack frequency matters most for units with attack-count triggers, like Stork's Soul Wolves or Goju's Reversal Burst, where hitting the threshold faster directly accelerates ability uptime.
One important caveat: Hyper Speed does not reduce separate fixed passive cooldowns. If a unit's passive runs on its own independent timer, the cooldown reduction won't touch it. Check the kit before assuming the full benefit applies.
Marksman and Disaster are the strong alternatives:
- Marksman extends range, which can cover an extra section of the path, push a support unit's reach further, or give a damage dealer more windows to attack. Its value is map-dependent but consistently useful.
- Disaster adds a substantial damage bonus against enemies below 40% health, making it excellent for finishing tough targets. The downside is it contributes zero damage while enemies are above that threshold, so it's a finisher trait, not a sustained DPS option.
Perceptive grants bonus XP during leveling, which speeds up progression but provides no combat value once a unit hits its level cap. It's a temporary tool, not a long-term investment.

Hyper Speed cuts cooldowns by 22.5%
What are the best Rare and Epic traits?
Enraged is the default pick at both Rare and Epic rarity. Its damage increase applies to abilities that scale off the unit's base damage, including timed damage effects, which makes it broadly useful across different unit types. At Epic rarity (Enraged 2), the bonus is larger, but even the Rare version (Enraged 1) is a reliable choice.
Dedicated (1 and 2) is the main alternative and can actually outperform Enraged on units built around attack-count passives. If your unit's kit rewards landing a high number of basic attacks in sequence, Dedicated's sustained attack DPS bonus edges ahead. The mathematical gap between Enraged and Dedicated is small enough that the unit's specific mechanics should drive the decision.
Sniper (1 and 2) earns A tier despite being a range trait rather than a damage trait. Extra coverage can be worth more than a marginal damage bump on support units or on maps where enemies frequently slip out of range before a unit can finish attacking.
Which trait should you pick for Spedwag?
Bounty Hunter is the correct answer for Spedwag specifically. Its 20% farm income increase directly amplifies what Spedwag does: generate money. The trait also reduces placement and upgrade costs, which accelerates your economy early when every bit of gold matters. Bounty Hunter sits in A tier overall, but for a dedicated farm unit it's a priority pick that beats everything else in the rarity.

Quick decision guide: which trait fits your unit's role?
Not every unit needs the same trait at every milestone. Use this as a fast reference:
- Damage carry: Enraged (Rare/Epic), Hyper Speed or Disaster (Legendary), Galactic or Chosen (Mythic)
- Attack-count passive unit: Dedicated (Rare/Epic), Hyper Speed (Legendary), Chosen (Mythic)
- Support unit: Sniper (Rare/Epic), Marksman (Legendary), Chosen (Mythic)
- Farm unit (Spedwag): Bounty Hunter (Rare), Bounty Hunter again at Epic if available, then Marksman for range
- Boss killer: Enraged (Rare/Epic), Disaster (Legendary), Galactic if running a singleton (Mythic)
