The Doomsekkar Rod is one of the most talked-about limited rods from the FischFright 3 update in Roblox, added on October 17, 2026. There's no shop listing and no price tag. You earn it by finishing a three-part questline from an NPC named Doomsekkar, and that window closes when the event ends. Here's everything you need to complete it without wasting a single catch.

Where to find Doomsekkar

Doomsekkar stands in the Caustic Hallow, the Halloween island area next to the graveyard (players also call it the Cemetery). His GPS coordinates are roughly -14988, 146, -9663, and you'll spot him by the green flames surrounding him near the graves.

To reach the island, head to the spooky shop near Moosewood Village and interact with the Flying Dutchman. The ship carries you straight to the event area. From there, cross toward the graveyard and look for the green-flamed NPC.

What are the three Doomsekkar quest objectives?

Once you accept, the quest tracker shows three tasks. You can tackle them in any order, and the two fishing objectives can run simultaneously.

How to catch 100 fish at Frightful Pools

Frightful Pools are temporary event fishing spots that appear at random locations across the ocean. Variants include Doomed, Grim, Eldritch, and Vile Frightful Pools. Any variant counts toward your total. Fish caught in regular ocean water do not count, so don't pad the number with standard catches.

Because pools spawn and despawn unpredictably, global chat is your best tool for locating an active one. Other players regularly call out live pools in chat. A boat gets you there faster than swimming.

Every catch in a Frightful Pool adds to both the 100-fish total and the Perfect Catch streak simultaneously, so there's no reason to separate the two objectives. Run them together.

How to land 50 Perfect Catches in a row

This is the part that trips most players up. The requirement is 50 Perfect Catches consecutively, not 50 spread across the event. One catch where the fish escapes your control bar resets the counter to zero.

A Perfect Catch means the fish never leaves your control bar during the entire reeling minigame. Fast-moving, higher-rarity fish make this much harder to maintain.

Here's the short answer for keeping the streak alive:

  • Use Garbage Bait. It applies -500% Universal Luck, which dramatically reduces your chances of hooking higher-rarity fish. Those fish move erratically and are the main streak-killers. Garbage Bait drops from Bait Crates, which are cheap to buy and have the highest drop rate for it.
  • Prioritize Control over everything else. The Plaguereaver Rod has the highest base Control in the game, covering 70% of the reeling bar without any enchantments. That makes Perfect Catches nearly automatic on most fish. You need level 150 to start the Plagued Reaper questline and 650+ to complete it. If you don't have the Plaguereaver, use whichever rod you own with the highest Control stat. Blade of Glorp, Seraphic, and Elemental are solid alternatives.
  • Watch the quest tracker, not your mental count. Counting to 50 in your head is how streaks end at 49.
  • Stay on the same server. If you're deep into a streak, don't hop servers. The tracker can behave unpredictably across server changes.

How to complete the Haunted House ghost trial

This objective has nothing to do with fishing. It's part of the event's Trick or Treat activity.

  1. Keep playing until an on-screen announcement identifies a specific house as haunted. The message will say something like "House 111 feels haunted... knock if you dare." Note the house number.
  2. Find the building with that number. The correct house has a green-glowing number on it, which distinguishes it from regular Trick or Treat houses.
  3. Equip your Candy Bucket and knock on the door. Follow the prompt to hold out the bucket.
  4. When "CATCH THE GHOST!" appears, keep your cursor circle over the floating ghost until the progress bar fills completely.

Simply entering the house or knocking without finishing the minigame won't register the objective. The quest tracker must update to 1/1 before it counts.

How to claim the Doomsekkar Rod

When the tracker reads 100/100, 50/50, and 1/1, return to Doomsekkar in the Caustic Hallow and talk to him again. An unlock alert confirms the rod is yours. You also receive 3,000 Treats and 5,000 XP in the Rod Journal.

If he won't hand over the rod, check each counter individually. The streak and the ghost minigame are the two most likely to look complete when they actually haven't registered correctly.

Resilience-666%
Max KgUnlimited

The rod has a dark purple and silver-white body with gothic curves, glowing neon-green teeth, and a purple aura. The 0.1 Control means the reeling bar covers roughly 40% of the minigame, and the -666% Resilience is not a typo. The rod is built around its passive ability to compensate for both.

Max Kg is unlimited, so no fish in the game is too heavy to hold.

How does the Doomsekkar Rod's pumpkin bomb ability work?

During the reeling minigame, the rod places pumpkin bombs on the bar away from the fish. When the fish swims into a bomb, it detonates and adds progress. Because the rod has low Control and negative Resilience, the fish moves around more, which actually triggers more bombs. The low stats work in the passive's favor.

Here's how the ability breaks down:

  • A new bomb spawns every 0.8 seconds, with up to 6 bombs on the bar at once.
  • Bombs that never trigger disappear after 45 seconds.
  • Each detonation adds +8% progress (or +2.8% against Progress Locked fish).
  • After 6 detonations, a slash adds +50% progress (+17.5% on Progress Locked fish) and grants 50 seconds of the Doomsekkar effect.
  • After that activation, each further detonation gives 10 seconds of the Doomsekkar effect to you and every player within 50 studs.

The Doomsekkar effect's duration stacks across detonations, so fishing near other players using the same rod keeps it running for the whole group.

What is the Doomsekkar mutation and is the 8x bonus real?

Catches made with this rod can roll the Doomsekkar mutation, which multiplies a fish's value by 8x. The base chance is 10%, and each bomb that detonates during the catch adds another 8 percentage points to the odds. In a busy fight with multiple detonations, that's how players have been seeing mutation rates approach 50%.

The mutation matters beyond just selling fish. Later Cemetery rituals require Doomsekkar-mutated materials, and the questline also contributes to Ethereal Rose progression. Keep the rod after you unlock it.

Bomb timing and progress values have been reported inconsistently since launch, and event rods tend to get rebalanced mid-event. Trust the multiplier shown on your own catches over any older guide.

Is the Doomsekkar Rod worth the grind?

For the event specifically, yes. The 275% Luck, unlimited weight cap, and 8x mutation multiplier make it one of the strongest rods available during FischFright 3. The quest is genuinely time-consuming, mostly because of the 50-streak requirement, but Garbage Bait and a high-Control rod make it manageable.

The mistake most players make is starting the fishing objectives before accepting the quest, then wondering why their counter is stuck at zero. Accept the quest first, then fish.
