Get the Fangsplitter Rod in Fisch by completing all five quests from Echo inside the Underground Music Venue. This Roblox fishing questline requires specific rods, rare mutation combinations, time spent in-game, and Perfect Catches. The biggest equipment check comes at the end: the Nocturnal Rod needs a higher weight limit before it can handle Megalodons. Open the venue first, then follow Echo's objectives in order, keeping the required fishing tools ready for each stage.

Where to find Echo and start the quest

Echo stands in a corner near the bottom of the stairs leading to the Underground Music Venue's stage. Reaching him requires a trip through Vertigo, The Depths, and Crystal Cove.

Enter the Underground Music Venue

Follow this route if you have not opened the venue:

  1. Wait for a mysterious whirlpool to appear, then jump into it to reach Vertigo.
  2. Fish for a Depths Key and use it to open the Depths Door.
  3. Inside The Depths, find the secret cave at GPS X: 1100, Y: -700, Z: 1400 to enter Crystal Cove.
  4. Place an enchanted chaotic relic on the white crystal. This opens the secret trapdoor at the back.
  5. Go through the trapdoor to enter the Underground Music Venue.

While you are in Vertigo, buy the Nocturnal Rod from Synth's shop for 15,000C$ if you do not own it. Two of Echo's objectives require that exact rod, so a stronger replacement will not satisfy those tasks.

How to complete Echo's five quests

The objectives combine ordinary fishing, mutation hunting, and Perfect Catches. Use this checklist to keep the required items and equipment separate.

QuestCompletion requirementRequired fishing equipment
Rubber Ducks Rule the WorldSeven Perfect Rubber Ducky catchesNocturnal Rod
Glistening MadnessReturn one Withered Colossal Squid with Shiny or SparklingWithered Spear or Decayed Rod
Days Turn to Nights, Nights to DaysRemain in-game for seven full day cyclesSundial Totems can accelerate time
Wingripper Pt. 2Return one Distraught Enchant Relic with Shiny or SparklingDreambreaker Rod
The EndSeven Perfect catches of any MegalodonNocturnal Rod with increased weight capacity

Rubber Ducks Rule the World

Head to Vertigo's Dip and equip the Nocturnal Rod. Rubber Duckies prefer rain, have no specific bait preference, and can be caught at any time of day.

A Perfect Catch requires you to keep the fish indicator inside the catch bar throughout the reeling minigame without losing progress. Simply landing the Rubber Ducky is not enough. High-resilience bait, such as Coral or Deep Coral, can help you maintain control.

Focus on keeping the indicator contained from the start of each attempt. This is also an opportunity to get comfortable with the Nocturnal Rod before Echo's much harder final task.

Glistening Madness

Fish for Colossal Squid in the Ocean or Deep Ocean. Their preferred conditions are foggy winter nights, with Night Shrimp as bait. Targeting those preferences helps you focus the hunt before dealing with the required attributes.

Choose between these two ways to obtain Withered:

Fishing toolWithered mutation chanceComparison
Withered Spear25%Higher chance on each catch
Decayed Rod10%Lower-chance alternative

After catching a Withered Colossal Squid, take it to the Appraiser and continue appraising until it gains Shiny or Sparkling. You need either attribute, not both, alongside Withered.

Shiny Surge, Night of the Luminous, and Rainbow weather can also help when pursuing the qualifying attributes during the catch. The Appraiser route lets you work on a squid that already has the required mutation instead of repeatedly trying to land the complete combination at once.

Days Turn to Nights, Nights to Days

Stay in-game while full day cycles pass. A complete cycle is Day → Night → Day, not a single switch between daytime and nighttime.

Use Sundial Totems to advance time and shorten this stage. Keep enough for repeated transitions, because seven totem uses do not represent seven full cycles. Continue until the full-day requirement is complete, then return to Echo for the next objective.

Wingripper Pt. 2

Equip the Dreambreaker Rod and fish for Enchant Relics. Relics can be caught anywhere, but The Depths offers better relic odds than the standard global fishing pool.

Night is the better time to pursue Distraught. Dreambreaker has a 35% chance to apply the mutation at night, compared with 25% during the day. The Scavenger enchantment and Relic Construct companion can also improve your relic hunt.

Once you have a Distraught Enchant Relic, use the Appraiser to pursue Shiny or Sparkling. These attributes can coexist with its existing mutation. Appraising during Shiny Surge or Night of the Luminous can help with the attribute rolls.

Check the finished relic before returning it to Echo: it needs Distraught plus one of the two qualifying attributes.

The End

Prepare the Nocturnal Rod before joining a Megalodon Hunt. Its base maximum weight is 10,000kg, while Megalodons start at 50,000kg. Improving handling alone does not solve that weight restriction.

These are the supported capacity setups:

Nocturnal Rod setupMaximum weightOther relevant effect
Invincible enchantmentInfiniteRemoves the weight limit
Herculean plus a Cosmic Relic secondary enchantment85,000kg, including the rod's base capacityHerculean also adds 0.2 Control

Invincible is the simplest capacity solution because it removes the weight restriction entirely. The alternative remains finite, so its limit still needs to cover the Megalodon you hook.

Check the Events chat section for an active Megalodon Hunt, then travel to the hunt pool behind Ancient Isle. Hunts appear periodically, and a Megalodon Totem can also trigger one. Use Shark Head or Tryhard Worm bait.

Megalodon, Ancient Megalodon, and Phantom Megalodon all qualify for this objective. Watch for rampage attacks that shrink your catch bar during reeling, and adjust immediately to protect the Perfect Catch.

After finishing the final objective, return to Echo and interact with him again. He awards the Fangsplitter Rod and a custom Megalodon Tooth Bobber.

Fangsplitter Rod stats and passives

Fangsplitter combines high Lure Speed and Luck with infinite weight capacity. Its base stats are:

StatValue
Lure Speed222%
Luck222%
Control0.22
Resilience22%
Maximum weightInfinite

Split and Bat Swarm

The rod has two passives with different uses:

  • Split: Each catch has a 25% chance to receive the Split mutation, which multiplies that fish's sale value by 9. The multiplier applies to fish that receive the mutation, not every catch.
  • Bat Swarm: Consecutive Perfect Catches build a swarm of bats that speeds up your catch progress. Missing a Perfect Catch resets the streak.
