Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up Guide: All New Exotic & How to Get Them

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 Year 8 Season 1 Rise Up ships with three new Exotic items built around a single design idea: weapon swapping as an active combat mechanic rather than a passive habit. The Agitator assault rifle, the Whiplash pistol, and the Investor mask each reward players who rotate weapons deliberately and punish those who forget to. Two of these come from the season pass track, and one requires clearing a mission on Master difficulty after completing a multi-week manhunt chain.

The Agitator Exotic Assault Rifle

The Agitator is built on the F2000 platform and fires at 850 RPM with a 50-round base magazine and 112k base weapon damage. Those numbers are solid on their own, but the weapon's real value sits inside its Perturb talent, which turns the threat system into a damage multiplier.

How does the Perturb talent work?

Perturb runs in two distinct phases. While the Agitator sits holstered, it passively cuts your threat generation by 50%, meaning enemies are less likely to focus you while you shoot with your other weapons. Hold that holstered state for exactly 10 seconds and the weapon becomes primed.

Draw a primed Agitator and the combat phase kicks in for 20 seconds, applying three simultaneous bonuses:

  • +25% Rate of Fire
  • +30% Weapon Damage
  • +100% Threat Generation

The threat flip is the core of the design. You suppress aggro while building toward the primed state, then absorb all of it during your damage window. Swap away before those 20 seconds expire and all three bonuses vanish immediately.

How to get the Agitator

The Agitator drops from the Y8S1 Rise Up season pass reward track with Assault Rifle Damage and Health Damage as fixed attributes, plus a random third attribute. There are two routes:

  • Premium Pass holders can claim it immediately from Level 1.
  • Free track players unlock it by grinding to Level 69.

Once Y8S1 ends, the Agitator enters the general Exotic loot pool for all players to farm from targeted sources.

The Whiplash Exotic Pistol

The Whiplash is the hardest of the three Y8S1 Exotics to obtain and arguably the most useful in sustained boss fights. Its Faster Than Reloading talent does exactly what the name says: drawing a primed Whiplash instantly reloads both your primary and secondary weapons simultaneously, eliminating downtime between weapon swaps.

How does Faster Than Reloading work?

The Whiplash primes after just 5 seconds holstered, which is half the Agitator's window and easy to fit into fast rotations. The weapon also ships with 50% Swap Speed built in, so drawing it is noticeably snappier than a standard sidearm.

On a primed draw, three things happen at once:

  • Auto-reload on both primary and secondary weapons
  • +20% Rate of Fire on the Whiplash itself
  • +50% Weapon Damage active until the magazine is fully emptied

Both damage bonuses are locked to a complete magazine dump. Swap away early or empty only part of the magazine and the bonuses disappear. The discipline required is real, but the payoff during boss damage phases is significant.

How to get the Whiplash

The Whiplash drops exclusively from the Pentagon Climax mission, which went live on May 26, 2026. Clearing it on Master difficulty for the first time guarantees the pistol as a one-time reward. Repeat clears on any difficulty can drop additional copies, with Master offering the best odds for different stat rolls.

Getting to that Master run requires completing a specific chain in order:

  1. Complete the Scout 3 HVT from the Week 3 Rise Up manhunt.
  2. Complete the Scout 6 HVT from the Week 6 Rise Up manhunt.
  3. Complete the Scout 9 HVT from the Week 9 Rise Up manhunt.
  4. Clear Pentagon Climax on any standard difficulty to unlock Master tier.
  5. Clear Pentagon Climax on Master difficulty for the guaranteed Whiplash drop.

The Investor Exotic Mask

The Investor is the Y8S1 Exotic gear piece, and it stands out from most Exotic masks because it scales across DPS, skill, and sustain builds rather than locking you into one playstyle. Its Slotted talent reads the color of each non-Core attribute on the mask and converts it into a passive bonus that stays active permanently during combat.

How does the Slotted talent work?

The Investor rolls with any Core attribute and a random third attribute instead of a standard Gear Mod Slot. Each non-Core attribute color on the mask grants one passive bonus:

A mask with two red non-Core attributes and one yellow would passively grant +20% Critical Hit Damage and +5% Skill Efficiency with no activation required. The bonuses stack and remain active throughout combat, making the Investor genuinely flexible depending on which rolls you land.

How to get the Investor Mask

Reach Level 29 on the Y8S1 Rise Up Season Track and claim the Investor as a free reward. No premium pass purchase is needed. Season pass progression is shared across all characters on an account, so it can only be claimed once. After Y8S1 wraps, the mask enters the general Exotic loot pool for repeat farming.
