The Cleaners have rolled into Washington D.C. for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 Year 8 Season 3 Red Horizon, and Week 2 of the Manhunt is live as of September 1, 2026. Three new Scout challenges are on the board, all tied to pushing back this advance Cleaner force across multiple districts. None of these tasks are particularly punishing, but knowing exactly where to go saves you from wandering the map guessing.

What are the Scout 2 Manhunt objectives in Y8S3 Red Horizon?

Week 2 presents three distinct Scout tasks. Each one has a riddle-style hint that points you toward a specific district and activity type. Here's a quick breakdown before the full solutions:

tip
After completing all three Scout tasks, a voice recording plays that fills in the story context around the events that unfolded during your Scout activities.

How to complete Scout 2 Task 1

The hint reads: "Cleaners are burning stuff in Judiciary Square. Take them out." Your goal is to eliminate 5 Cleaners anywhere within the Judiciary Square district.

Y8S3 Red Horizon introduced the Cleaner faction to D.C., so they show up across the district in various open-world activities. A Resource Node in the area is a reliable spawn point. Head there and you'll typically find a small Cleaner group in the process of looting resources. Five kills is a low threshold, so any DPS-focused build clears this in a single encounter. If you have the Under Pressure Global Modifier active, use it here to speed things up.

tip
If you're not finding Cleaners immediately, look for unclaimed Control Points in Judiciary Square. Cleaner-branded activities cluster around those locations.

How to complete Scout 2 Task 2

The hint reads: "The Cleaners might be after the fuel reserves near the White House." This one is more specific than it sounds. You need to capture the Eclipse Fuel Depot Control Point, which sits in the south of the White House district.

The capture process here follows the standard Control Point formula with a few waves to manage:

  1. Reach the Eclipse Fuel Depot and throw a flare to call in your NPC allies.
  2. The flare simultaneously alerts all enemies inside the perimeter, so expect immediate contact.
  3. Clear the first patrol wave circling the point.
  4. A second wave spawns from inside the Control Point itself.
  5. A third reinforcement wave arrives from an external spawn location outside the perimeter.
  6. Hold the area with your allies until all waves are cleared and the point flips.

A Pestilence build works well here given the sustained DPS requirements across multiple waves. Solo players should check the map for any Shepherding Agents who can join and split the enemy attention.

How to complete Scout 2 Task 3

The hint reads: "The Cleaners may target medical infrastructure in Downtown East." For this final task, you need to capture any one Control Point in the Downtown East district. Four options are available:

  • Fallen Cranes
  • Demolition Site
  • MLK Memorial Library
  • Red Dragon

Pick whichever point is currently contested or unoccupied. The capture process mirrors the Eclipse Fuel Depot: signal allies with a flare, clear multiple hostile waves from inside and outside the perimeter, and hold until the point is secured. important
If all four Control Points in Downtown East are already liberated by your faction, you'll need to reset one before you can capture it. Open the map, locate a liberated point, and use the reset option to make it available again.

Once all three tasks are done, the Scout 2 chapter closes out with a voice recording that advances the Red Horizon narrative.

Build recommendations for Scout 2 activities

None of these tasks require a specialized loadout, but a few setups make the Control Point captures noticeably smoother:

  • Pestilence (LMG): Strong sustained damage across multiple enemy waves, especially useful when holding a perimeter.
  • Any DPS build with crowd control skills: Turrets or seekers help manage the external reinforcement wave during Control Point captures.
  • Under Pressure Global Modifier: If active during the Judiciary Square task, it accelerates the Cleaner kills significantly.

If you're still getting your bearings with builds and progression systems, the Division 2 complete beginner's guide covers the core mechanics you'll want to understand before tackling seasonal content.

What comes next in the Y8S3 Red Horizon Manhunt?

Scout 2 is the second of several weekly Manhunt chapters in Red Horizon. Each week unlocks a new set of Scout tasks that push the seasonal narrative forward and contribute toward the overall Manhunt target.

For players working through the full season, the earlier weeks are worth revisiting for context. The Scout 2 Manhunt solutions from Y8S2 Into the Dark show how the format carries over between seasons, and if you're pushing further ahead, the Y8S2 Scout 4 Manhunt solutions offer a useful reference for how later-week tasks tend to scale in complexity.
