Travel tours are one of the more satisfying progression systems in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. You send your Miis on trips around the world, they come back with photos and souvenirs, and if you time it right, a romantic trip together can push a couple's relationship to the next stage. The whole system unlocks after you grant 10 wishes at the Wishing Fountain, at which point a MiiNews report announces that travel is now available. From there, new destinations open every 5 additional wishes, all the way up to 100 for the Outer Space Tour.

How to get travel tickets
Travel tickets come from the Wishing Fountain. Once the Travel Ticket section is active (after 10 total wishes granted), you spend wishes there to send a Mii on a trip. Destinations you have already unlocked stay available indefinitely, so you can revisit the same tour as many times as you want, as long as you keep spending wishes for tickets.
The locked destinations on the ticket screen will display exactly how many more wishes you need before they open up, which makes planning ahead straightforward.
How does traveling actually work?
Once you have a ticket, hand it to a Mii as a gift. They leave immediately. During the trip, a travel event plays out where you can take 3 photos of the Mii at landmarks and scenic spots. Those photos save to your device album.
A few things to know about the photo system: you can only take 3 shots per visit, and each destination has more photo opportunities than that. Seeing every possible photo from a single location means returning multiple times.
Can a Mii travel with someone else?
Yes. If the traveling Mii has a close resident, that resident may come along. Traveling together with a romantic partner can advance their relationship level by one stage, which makes travel tickets a useful tool for pushing couples forward without waiting for other events to trigger.
What happens when Miis get married?

What do you actually get from traveling?
Three things:
- Photos saved to your device album (up to 3 per trip)
- A souvenir tied to the specific destination when the Mii returns home
- Relationship progress if a couple travels together
There is also one underrated use: travel tickets instantly cheer up sad or angry Miis. If a Mii got rejected and is moping around, or had a fight with someone and is steaming, handing them a travel ticket skips the usual recovery process entirely. That saves time and resources you would otherwise spend on other items.

There are 19 total travel destinations. They unlock in order, one per 5 wishes after the initial 10-wish unlock threshold.
The Outer Space Tour is the only one with two possible souvenirs: the Beta Alien and the Gamma Alien.

What makes the Outer Space Tour special?
Beyond being the final unlock at 100 wishes, completing the Outer Space Tour has two additional effects. First, it unlocks the Astronaut Costume at the Where & Wear clothing shop. What else unlocks through the travel system?
Beyond the tours themselves, the travel system feeds into a few other unlocks tracked in the game's all-unlockables list:
- Astronaut Costume: unlocks at Where & Wear after completing the Outer Space Tour
- Wedding Dress and Wedding Suit Outfits: unlock when two Miis get married, which triggers the automatic honeymoon trip
- Relationship advancement: couples who travel together can gain one relationship stage per trip

Tips for getting through the wish requirements faster
The gap between 10 wishes and 100 wishes is the entire mid-game progression arc. A few practical notes:
- Solve Mii ponderings regularly. Each solved problem generates Warm Fuzzies, which you convert at the Wishing Fountain.
- Keep your island populated. More Miis means more ponderings, more happiness boosts, and more Warm Fuzzies flowing in.
- You do not need to save wishes for a specific tour. Once a tour unlocks, it stays unlocked permanently. Spend wishes freely.
- Sending sad or angry Miis on trips is not wasteful. It solves an immediate problem and you still get the souvenir and photo benefits.
