The Full Flock achievement in Well Dweller is one of the most rewarding collectible hunts in the game, but also one of the easiest to leave half-finished. The 20 spirits are scattered across every major region, many locked behind abilities you won't have on your first pass through an area. The good news: there is no point of no return. You can grab every spirit before the final boss or clean up afterward.
Each spirit appears as a small bird statue. Attack it to free the spirit inside, then carry it back to the return point in the Night Garden (the first area, marked with a spirit icon on the map). Every return earns a reward: in-game currency, a trinket, or a trinket slot. Returning all 20 also feeds directly into the "Together at Last" achievement chain in the endgame.

Spirit statues are scattered everywhere
What abilities do you need to rescue all 20 spirits?
Before diving into locations, here is a breakdown of every traversal ability and which spirits require them. Spirits marked "None" can be grabbed on your first visit to that area, assuming you can reach the room itself.
| Ability | What It Does | Spirits That Need It |
|---|---|---|
| Slingshot | Throw matchstick into walls to create bounce platforms | 1, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20 |
| Climb | Scale straight walls (limited stamina) | 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 |
| Wind Ride | Fly through wind tunnel sections | 3 |
| Hover | Press jump midair for a short glide | 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 19, 20 |
| Endless Climb | Climb walls without fatigue | 17, 19, 20 |
| Tent Travel | Fast travel between save tents | Not required, but saves significant backtracking |
All 20 spirit locations by region
Night Garden (spirits 1, 2, 9)
Spirit 1 requires the Slingshot. Throw the matchstick into the wall to create a bounce point, then jump off it to reach the ledge where the statue sits.
Spirit 2 needs no abilities, but you must clear a combat challenge room to access it. Defeat every enemy in the arena and the path to the statue opens.
Spirit 9 is the most demanding Night Garden spirit, requiring Climb, Hover, and Slingshot together. Come back once all three are unlocked.

Return point sits in Night Garden
The Drains (spirit 3)
Spirit 3 sits on a ledge at the top of a tall room, directly to the right of the area tent. Use Wind Ride to ascend the wind tunnel and collect it from the platform above.
Midnight Drench (spirits 4, 7)
Spirit 4 requires no abilities. It's accessible on a standard route through the dark blue area.
Spirit 7 is gated behind a Time Trial that requires Climb and Hover. The trial is a vertical race upward using wall climbing, hovering, and bubble bouncing. Complete it to claim the spirit as the reward.
Graven Valley (spirit 5)
Spirit 5 needs only Climb. The statue is hidden in a concealed passage in the top-left corner of its room. The passage doesn't look like a passage, so check every wall before moving on.
Dessicated Castle (spirit 6)
Spirit 6 demands Slingshot, Hover, and Climb together. It's tucked in a hidden passage and the only way up is to plant the matchstick in the wall below the statue and bounce upward from beneath it.
Hunter's Cabin (spirit 8)
Spirit 8 is a Time Trial reward requiring Climb, Hover, and Slingshot. The trial mixes horizontal running with vertical sections. Completing it gives you the spirit directly.
The Lookout Tower (spirits 10, 11)
Spirit 10 and Spirit 11 both need Hover. The Lookout Tower is where the hover ability gets extended by collecting feathers in bubble pockets, so your glide window is longer here than anywhere else. Use that to your advantage reaching the higher ledges.
Autumn Forest (spirits 12, 13)
Spirit 12 is another Time Trial reward, this one involving spinning spike balls and falling platforms. You need Hover to safely pass the spike sections mid-fall. The source notes you have brief pauses to hover past the worst hazards.
Spirit 13 needs Slingshot, Hover, and Climb.
The Docks (spirits 14, 15)
Spirit 14 and Spirit 15 both require Slingshot and Climb. The Docks is a pale brown zone on the map and both spirits sit in separate rooms within it.
The Bog (spirits 16, 18)
Spirit 16 is a Time Trial reward. Unusually, the source recommends bringing no traversal abilities to this one, as they slow you down. This is a pure movement challenge: run, jump, and slide your way through without pausing to use extra tools.
Spirit 18 requires no abilities but locks the statue behind a combat challenge. Clear every enemy in the room to break the barrier.
Dollmaker's House (spirit 17)
Spirit 17 needs Endless Climb and Hover. You enter the Dollmaker's House through The Bog. This is a late-game spirit that requires two of the harder abilities to reach.
Burial Vault (spirits 19, 20)
Spirits 19 and 20 are the final two and share the same ability requirements: Slingshot, Endless Climb, and Hover. Both are in the dark brown Burial Vault area. Having Endless Climb makes the wall sections trivial compared to earlier attempts with stamina-limited Climb.
How to return spirits and claim your rewards
The return point is in the Night Garden. Look for the spirit icon on the map. Hovering over it shows your current count: spirits collected versus spirits returned. These are tracked separately, so you can batch-collect several before making a single trip back.
Every return gives a reward. Early returns tend to give currency or trinket slots. Returning all 20 grants the Paper Clip with String trinket, which slightly increases flaming vessel damage. The Full Flock achievement pops when you return the 20th spirit to the Night Garden.
After completing the main story and unlocking the Soar ability, the game adds a new post-credits objective involving 5 Spirit Fragments spread across the map. Collecting all 5 and returning them unlocks "Together at Last." That achievement requires having already returned all 20 spirits, so finishing Full Flock first is the correct order.
Quick routing tips to save time
- Collect spirits in clusters as you naturally explore each region rather than making dedicated spirit-hunting runs. Most spirits sit close to your main route through each area.
- Spirits behind Time Trials are permanently locked until you complete the trial. Don't skip trials on your first pass through an area.
- The combat challenge spirits (2, 18) have no ability requirements but demand you clear every enemy. Bring an AoE-friendly trinket setup to speed through them.
- Returning spirits in batches of 3 to 5 is more efficient than returning after every single find, especially once Tent Travel is available.
- The Rusted Compass trinket (found in the Burial Vault) signals when a collectible is in the current room. Equip it during your cleanup pass.
For more help across the whole game, the Well Dweller guides collection covers bosses, trinkets, time trials, and every other achievement in the same detail as this spirit hunt. Well Dweller is one of the standout indie games of 2026, and the collectible design reflects that: nothing is padding, every spirit return has a tangible payoff, and the Full Flock achievement feels genuinely earned by the time that 20th statue breaks open.
