Alexandre Exquemelin left his mark across the world of Windrose in the form of seven Traveler's Camps, each hiding two chests worth looting. One sits right outside the tent, and the other is buried beneath a distinctive white tree wrapped with a red rag. Tracking down all seven completes the location and nets you a full set of journal notes alongside some genuinely useful loot. Here's exactly where to find every camp and every buried chest.
What are Exquemelin's Treasures in Windrose?
Scattered across three regions, the seven Traveler's Camps were set up by the explorer Alexandre Exquemelin. Each camp follows the same structure: a tent with a chest outside containing a Traveler's Note, and a second chest buried under a white tree marked with a red cloth. The notes form the Traveler's Journal Collection, so you'll want all seven to complete it.
Windrose uses a procedurally generated world map, which means the layout between islands will vary between playthroughs. The points of interest on each island stay consistent, though, so the landmarks listed below are reliable for identifying the right location.
Equip your shovel before heading to any white tree. You'll see sparkles appear near the dig spot before the chest itself becomes visible, so watch for those as your cue to start digging.

Where are all 7 Traveler's Camps located?
The camps are spread across three regions. Here's a quick breakdown before getting into the specifics:
Traveler's Camp 1 (Starter Island)
Location: Southwest of the starter island, Coastal Jungle.
This is the first camp most players will encounter. The camp is deserted with no enemies, just a tent and a cold campfire. Loot the chest outside the tent to receive the note Twist of Fancy, which describes a Smuggler's Cache and mentions buried gear left beneath a red-ragged tree.
Face west from the camp and look for the white tree with the red rag. Dig on the southwest side of the tree. The buried chest here is a Decrepit Chest, and loot is randomized. One documented haul included 10x Homemade Gunpowder, 5x Healing Potion, and 5x Great Healing Potion.
Other points of interest on the starter island include Pirate Remains, a Copper Deposit, and 2x Ancient Ruins, which can help you orient yourself on the map.
Traveler's Camp 2
Nearby landmarks: Blackbeard Outpost in Ancient Ruins, Copper Deposit.
This camp sits on a small island just off a larger one. You'll likely pass through the area during the Revenge Is Best Served Cold main quest, making it easy to grab on the way. Loot the tent chest for the Relative Cost note, then head southwest to find the marked white tree.
Dig on the western side of the tree. Documented loot from this chest includes 3x Rum Bottle, 2x Brandy, and 2x Madeira.
Traveler's Camp 3
Nearby landmarks: Fisherman's Hut, Smuggler's Cache, Copper Deposit, Jungle Cave.
Head to the center of the island, south of the Fisherman's Hut and north of the Jungle Cave. Loot the tent chest for the note A Hat Worth Boarding For, then go north from the camp to find the marked tree.
Dig on the northwest side of the tree. Loot from this chest can include 5x Elixir of Cruelty and a Gold Temple Jug.
Traveler's Camp 4
Nearby landmarks: Ancient Farm, Ancient Village, Iron Deposit.
This camp sits in the southwest of its island, the same one you'll visit for the Sacrificial Lamb side quest. Loot the tent chest for Traveler's Note: Basilica Hands, then head east from the camp to locate the short white tree with the red cloth.
Dig on the eastern side of the tree. This chest is notable for containing the Decoration: Elegant Bed item alongside a reported large quantity of Coffee Beans.
Don't skip the tent chest before going for the buried one. The Traveler's Note inside is part of the Traveler's Journal Collection, and missing it means an incomplete set.
Traveler's Camp 5
Nearby landmarks: 3x Large Pirate Camp, 2x Cliffside Pirate Camp, Iron Deposit.
This is a large island where the camp appears in the Coastal Jungle section on the mini-map, though the terrain shifts into the Foothills as you explore further in. The camp is in the southwest, near the island's edge.
Loot the tent chest for The Devil Always Gets His Due note, then face southwest from the camp to find the marked tree. Dig on the southwest side. This chest contains the Decoration: Luxurious Bed and potentially healing potions.
Traveler's Camp 6
Nearby landmarks: Ancient Grave, 3x Sacrificial Altar, Priestess's Chambers, 3x Ruin with a Flowerbed, Ancient Debris Site.
Reaching this one requires pushing into the Cursed Swamps region. The camp sits in the southeast of a large island, right by the beach. Loot the tent chest for Traveler's Note: Disturbed Peace, then look northeast for the red-ragged tree.
This dig spot has a catch: an Azure Dodo guards the area. Dig on the southwestern side of the tree once you've dealt with it. Documented loot includes 15x Mysterious Spice and 10x Rum Bottle.
The Azure Dodo near Camp 6's buried chest is not optional to ignore. Clear it before you start digging or expect an interruption mid-loot.
Traveler's Camp 7
Nearby landmarks: 2x Ancient Ruins, 2x Ancient Debris Site, 2x Tainted Ruins.
The final camp sits on the western side of its island in the Cursed Swamps. Loot the tent chest for Traveler's Note: Lost Boots, then look just northeast of the camp for the red-ragged tree. A Savage Boar patrols the area, so clear it before digging.
Dig on the southwest side of the tree. One documented haul from this final chest included 5x Master Repair Kits and 3x Whiskey.

The seventh and final journal note
What loot do you get from all 7 Exquemelin's Treasures?
Loot from the buried chests is partially randomized, but several items appear to be fixed rewards based on documented runs. Here's a summary of confirmed notable drops:
The two decoration items (Elegant Bed from Camp 4 and Luxurious Bed from Camp 5) stand out as the most unique rewards since they're furniture pieces rather than consumables. The Master Repair Kits from Camp 7 are arguably the most practically useful for late-game players heading into the Cursed Swamps.
