How to unlock a Broom in Witchspire ...

Flying around on a broom is one of those moments in Witchspire that genuinely earns its place in the story. The Level 7 Main Quest, Take to the Skies, puts the task in front of you, but if you've been rushing through quests without paying attention to your base upgrades, the path to your first broom can feel a little unclear. There are four distinct steps between you and lift-off, and this guide walks through every one of them.

What do you need to unlock a broom in Witchspire?

Getting your first broom isn't a single unlock. It's a short progression chain that runs through your Hearth level, the Luminaries Skill Tree, and a crafting station you'll need to build yourself. Here's the full picture before breaking it down step by step.

Hearth upgrade requirements

Hearth upgrade requirements

Step 1: Upgrade your Hearth to Level 4

The Hearth is the backbone of your base progression in Witchspire. To unlock a broom, you need it at Level 4. Interact directly with your Hearth to see a list of the materials required for the next upgrade. The game shows you exactly what's needed, so there's no guesswork involved.

If you're sitting at Level 2 or below, plan to work through Level 3 first since the Witchcraft Circle unlock gates at Level 3 anyway. Reaching Level 4 in one focused resource push is the most efficient approach rather than stopping at Level 3 and then grinding again shortly after.

Step 2: Unlock and build the Witchcraft Circle

With your Hearth at Level 3 or above, head into the Luminaries Skill Tree and find the Witchcraft Circle node on the central strand. Unlock it there, then open your build menu by pressing B near your Hearth.

Building the Witchcraft Circle costs 5 Spirit Dust and 25 Stone. Place it and you'll have the dedicated crafting station needed for broom production. This station also handles other witchcraft recipes down the line, so it's a worthwhile structure regardless of where you are in the story.

For a deeper look at how the skill tree works and which early upgrades are worth prioritizing, the Witchspire Luminaries guide covers point efficiency and the best nodes to target first.

Step 3: Unlock the Simple Broom recipe

Directly above the Witchcraft Circle node in the Luminaries Skill Tree sits the Simple Broom recipe unlock. This one requires Hearth Level 4, which is why hitting Level 4 before touching the skill tree saves you a second trip back to the Hearth.

Once unlocked, interact with the Witchcraft Circle you just built. The Simple Broom recipe appears in the crafting list automatically.

Step 4: Craft the Simple Broom

Crafting the Simple Broom at the Witchcraft Circle costs 5 Spirit Dust and 3 Fine Wood. Spirit Dust is the same resource you used for the Witchcraft Circle itself, so stock up on it during your Hearth upgrade grind. Fine Wood requires a bit more targeted gathering if you haven't been collecting it passively.

How do you equip and use the broom?

Crafting the broom doesn't put it in your hand automatically. Press Tab to open your inventory, then navigate to the Character tab. In the top-right corner of the character menu, you'll find equipment slots for armour and accessories. One of those slots has a small broom icon next to it.

Slot the Simple Broom there, close the menu, and press V to take off. That's all there is to it.

What comes next after getting your broom?

The broom opens up the map in a way that walking simply can't match, and it changes how you approach resource gathering runs significantly. Pairing flight with a well-managed base makes a real difference in how quickly you can progress through later content.

If you're building out your companion roster alongside your base, the Witchspire Familiars guide explains how to catch and bond with companions of different rarities. For keeping your resource supply consistent, the Witchspire farming guide covers plot unlocks, seed purchasing from Mirella, and running a self-sustaining crop loop.

For everything else the game throws at you, the full Witchspire guide collection has you covered across all major systems.
