The Birthday Song Discovery is one of the trickier secrets hiding in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, tucked away in Chapter 1's Croakaoke Habitat. Miss your timing once and it's easy to assume you need to restart the whole level. You don't. Here's exactly how to find it, solve the puzzle, and walk away with a two-Star Discovery.
The Discovery doesn't announce itself. From the level's starting point, head right until you spot a large teal Croakaoke. Above it, you'll see Note Fruits hanging in the air. Grab one and give it to the teal Croakaoke, then jump on top of it. That jump is your ticket up to the Birthday Song Discovery area above.
Give Note Fruit to teal Croakaoke
Once you're up in the Discovery area, you'll find a group of Croakaokes singing the Happy Birthday song together. Each one sings a single note in sequence. The problem: some of them are asleep and miss their note, breaking the song.
Your job is to wake each sleeping Croakaoke right before its turn arrives. Watch the Croakaokes carefully as the song progresses. When the Croakaoke immediately before the sleeping one sings its note, that's your cue to act.
The method for waking them changes depending on their position:
Missing a cue is frustrating but not catastrophic. The song restarts from the beginning on its own, so you can try again immediately. Dropping down and returning to the area also resets the puzzle. You never need to restart the level to retry this Discovery.
