The Unbroken Flameruff Spirit is one of Aniimo's more involved evolution materials. You can't just buy it or stumble into it by accident. Getting it requires a specific farming spot, a time-gated questline that stretches across 3 real-world days, and a boss rematch at level 43. Here's everything you need to know to get it done efficiently.
What is the Unbroken Flameruff Spirit?
The Unbroken Flameruff Spirit is an Epic-rarity evolution material used to evolve Flameruff into Inferlupa, the Fire and Dark-type final form. The item's lore describes it as the lingering spirit of a Flameruff fighter who fell short of transcending into a Scorchhowl at the Thousand-Ridge Fang, with defeated warriors' bodies becoming Ridgeback Trees while their spirits remain. Mechanically, you need 6 of these to complete the evolution, plus 1 Night Stone (obtainable by defeating any Dark-type Alpha Aniimo).
Before you can even use the Unbroken Flameruff Spirit, you must unlock the evolution option by completing the Journey: Warrior (The Legend of Thousand-Fang Ridge) questline. Skipping the quest means the evolution option simply won't appear, so the questline isn't optional.
How to get Unbroken Flameruff Spirits

Aniimo Guide: How to Get Unbroken Flameruff Spirit & Evolve Inferlupa
Method 1: Farm Elite Flameruffs at Beast Fang Ridge
The primary farming method is to defeat Elite Flameruffs in Beast Fang Ridge. These are identifiable by their special title: Flameruff The Mighty. A few things to know before you head there:
- Elite Flameruffs only spawn during the daytime. If you arrive at night and find nothing, that's why.
- Drops are not guaranteed, so expect to run multiple attempts before collecting all 6.
- Beast Fang Ridge has a recommended level of 38-39, so make sure your team is in that range before going.
Method 2: Release an Inferlupa
Releasing an Inferlupa you already own will yield Unbroken Flameruff Spirits as a byproduct. This method exists but makes almost no practical sense. Inferlupa is only obtainable through evolution, which requires completing the Journey: Warrior quest and farming the spirits in the first place. Releasing one you worked hard to get just to get the materials back is a losing trade in almost every scenario.
| Method | Recommended | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Defeat Flameruff The Mighty (daytime) | Yes | Repeatable, daytime only, drops not guaranteed |
| Release Inferlupa | No | Wastes a hard-to-get Aniimo |
How to complete the Journey: Warrior quest
This is the gate you need to clear before Flameruff's evolution option unlocks. The quest plays out across 3 real-world days and cannot be rushed by changing the in-game time of day for most steps.

Aniimo Guide: How to Get Unbroken Flameruff Spirit & Evolve Inferlupa
Finding the quest start
Head to Beast Fang Ridge and look for a small campfire with a group of Emberpups and a Flameruff. The quest NPCs are visible at nighttime, so switch to night in your menus if needed. Twine as an Emberpup or Flameruff, then speak with the group to hear a campfire story and trigger the questline.
Day 1 tasks
- Follow the marker north through the dead trees to find an Inferlupa.
- Battle the Inferlupa. Light-type Aniimo work well for this fight.
- After the battle, Twine as a Scorchhowl to speak with the Scared Emberpup.
- Find and speak with the Fragrant Emberpup.
- You'll receive a call from Dr. Lewis, which unlocks the Fist I side quest.
- Return to the original campfire group.
- Collect the Spirit Dust: Old Inferlupa (look for a trail of purple smoke near the campfire).
- Wait until the next real-world day to continue.
Day 2 task
Return to the campfire group and listen to the story about the Undefeated Warrior. That's the only task for Day 2. Collect a second Spirit Dust from the purple smoke near the campfire, then wait another real-world day.
Day 3 tasks
- Speak with the Emberpups again to unlock a new marker.
- Head to the dead trees area where you first fought the Inferlupa.
- This section requires daytime. The Flameruff The Mighty Elite enemies appear here now.
- Defeat enough of them to collect 6 Unbroken Flameruff Spirits (drops are not guaranteed per kill, so this may take several attempts).
- Return to the campfire at night to finish the remaining dialogue.
- Collect the third Spirit Dust.
- Head back to the Inferlupa for a rematch. This time, it's level 43 and noticeably stronger. Water, Wind, and Light elements are effective.
- Defeating it triggers a cutscene, after which you can speak with the Inferlupa to complete the quest.
Completing the questline rewards you with the option to evolve Flameruff, plus 3x Blaze Stones, 30x Sparkling Crystals, 30x Glimmer, 1,000 Safaris, and 30,000 Credits.
What is the Unbroken Flameruff Spirit skill?
Separate from the evolution material, Unbroken Flameruff Spirit is also an ability exclusive to Inferlupa. When activated, a Flameruff Spirit fires out and ricochets between all targets on the field:
- Default: ricochets 5 times
- During Full Energy state: ricochets 7 times
- Each ricochet applies a Break efficiency buff of +10% per stack for 20 seconds, capping at 3 stacks
This makes Inferlupa a solid pick for break-focused team compositions, especially when you can reliably trigger Full Energy to push the ricochet count to 7. Is Inferlupa worth the effort?
The 3-day wait and multi-stage boss fight make this one of the more demanding evolutions in the game. That said, Inferlupa's combination of Fire and Dark typing plus a Break-oriented signature skill gives it a distinct niche that straightforward Fire-types don't fill. If you're building a team around Break mechanics, the investment pays off. If you just want a strong Fire-type for general content, there are faster routes.
For players still building out their roster, our Aniimo guide collection covers everything from catching Umbral and Prismana variants to stamina upgrades and rare egg strategies, so you can plan your next moves while you wait out the real-world days on this quest.
