Big Walk review: A beautiful co-op multiplayer masterpiece

Big Walk is the kind of game that rewards curiosity, and its trophy list reflects that philosophy perfectly. House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game, has packed 12 trophies and achievements into this co-op adventure across a vast island. The number sounds manageable, but a few of these will send you hunting in directions you wouldn't naturally wander. Here's everything you need to know.

How many trophies are in Big Walk?

There are 12 trophies and achievements in total. PlayStation players also get a Platinum trophy on top of those 12, awarded automatically once you've collected every other one.

The good news: the majority unlock through natural game progression. You'll earn most of them simply by reaching key milestones across the island, and since Big Walk lets you tackle objectives in any order you choose, these milestones function more like flexible chapters than a strict linear path.

The less good news: two trophies, Big Climb and Big Makeover, sit outside the main progression loop. You'll need to go out of your way to unlock them, so keep them in mind as you explore rather than leaving them for a cleanup run.

tip
Most trophies in Big Walk are tied to progression milestones, so you won't miss them just by playing normally. Focus your extra attention on Big Climb and Big Makeover.

Which trophies unlock through progression?

Seven of the 12 trophies represent major milestones in the game. These track things like completing specific objectives, unlocking key features, and reaching the end of the experience. You don't need a dedicated strategy for most of them; just keep moving through the island and they'll pop naturally.

Trophies like Big Ride (ride the train), Big Sit (ride the chairlift), Big Tunnel (enter a big tunnel), Big View (visit the map), and Big Walk (cross the drawbridge) all fall into this category. Big Goodbye and Big Game both relate to finishing the game, with Big Game tied to the complete ending.

tip
Big Goodbye and Big Game are separate trophies tied to different ending conditions. Don't assume finishing the game once covers both.

Which trophies require extra effort?

Big Climb and Big Makeover are the two trophies that won't come automatically from following the main path.

Big Climb asks you to reach the highest point on the island. This isn't something the game naturally routes you toward, so you'll need to deliberately seek out the route upward.

Big Makeover requires you to "get shiny," which is tied to finding metallic paint somewhere on the island. After testing the progression path thoroughly, this one is easy to overlook entirely if you're not actively scouting for it.

The remaining gear-based trophies, Big Help (wear something on your hip) and Big Pack (wear a backpack), also require finding specific items in the world, though they're somewhat easier to stumble across during normal exploration.

warning
Don't leave Big Climb and Big Makeover until after you've finished the main game. Both require exploring areas that are easier to access mid-playthrough.

What's the fastest way to get all trophies?

The most efficient approach is to treat the gear-based and exploration trophies as side objectives during your first playthrough rather than post-game cleanup. Since Big Walk lets you approach its objectives in any order, you have real flexibility here.

Prioritize Big Climb and Big Makeover early. Both require venturing off the beaten path, and the island's open structure means you can tackle them whenever you feel like it. The progression trophies will handle themselves as you work through the game's key milestones.

For players going for the Platinum on PlayStation, note that Big Game specifically requires the complete ending, not just finishing the game. Make sure you've seen everything the game has to offer before assuming you've wrapped it up.
