Deadlock Hero Tier List: Who Dominates the Meta (March 2026)
Ranked by win rates and match data, this Deadlock tier list breaks down every hero from S-tier carries to struggling D-tier picks.
Deadlock's Street Brawl strips the game down to its most direct form: four players per side, one lane, no soul economy, and a best-of-five race to destroy objectives. Forget last-hitting, deny wars, and jungle rotations. Every round lasts three minutes, items come from a draft instead of a shop, and the whole match wraps up in roughly 20 minutes. If the standard 6v6 format feels overwhelming, Street Brawl is the fastest way to learn hero fundamentals without the economy punishing every mistake.
Street Brawl launched with the Old Gods, New Blood update on January 22, 2026, sitting alongside the standard queue in the same client. It is a separate optional mode, not a ranked format. Valve developer Yoshi confirmed on that same day that Street Brawl results do not affect your rank at all, and the July 30, 2026 ranked ladder treats it the same way. The essential guide for new players covers the standard 6v6 format if you want a comparison point.
Each round has one goal: destroy the enemy Guardian. The first team to win three rounds wins the match. Once a team goes up 2-0, its own Guardian is removed and its final objective becomes the Walker instead, so a big lead only raises the stakes on the last rounds rather than ending things early.
Round timing is tight. You get 50 seconds to draft items before each round starts. The round itself runs three minutes before Overtime kicks in, and Urgent Overtime begins at four and a half minutes. Respawn timers start at 25 seconds in rounds 1 and 2, then jump to 30 seconds from round 3 onward.
Two structural rules matter here. Guardians have Backdoor Protection, so you cannot skip past one to attack what is behind it. Structures also lose resistance faster over the course of a round than they do in standard play, which means sustained chip damage is a real strategy rather than a waste of time.
| Round | Winning objective | Structure base health | Losing team comeback bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Enemy Guardian | 1,800 | +1,200 |
| 2 | Enemy Guardian | 3,200 | +1,200 |
| 3 | Enemy Guardian | 4,600 | +1,200 |
| 4 | Guardian or Walker | 6,000 | +1,200 |
| 5 | Guardian or Walker | 7,400 | +2,800 at match point, +4,000 if Walker |
The comeback bonuses on structure health mean a 2-0 lead is not a guaranteed close. Round 5 Walker health gets a significant additional buffer if the trailing team is defending it, so never play round 5 like a formality.
Instead of buying items with souls, you draft before every round. Each draft presents three sets of three items, and you pick one item from each set. You get one reroll per round, and rerolling keeps you within the same tier and rarity band, so you cannot accidentally downgrade yourself.
Drops are mirrored between teams. If you receive a rare, enhanced, or legendary item, the opposing team gets an equivalent. If an offered item would duplicate something you already hold, the draft substitutes a lower-tier item in its place.
| Round | Tiers in the draft pool |
|---|---|
| 1 | Tier 1, 2, and 3 |
| 2 | Tier 2 and 3 |
| 3 | Tier 2, 3, and 4 |
| 4 | Tier 3 and 4 |
| 5 | Tier 4, with a chance of Tier 5 legendary |
Street Brawl runs its own exclusive legendary pool of 17 items that do not appear in standard matches, labeled Tier 5 and valued at 9,999 souls. The June 11, 2026 patch reduced all ability and item range and radius values in this mode by 10%, and the March 6, 2026 patch removed the item slot limit entirely, so you are never capped on how many items you can hold.
Queueing with the random hero option gives you a second reroll for the first three rounds, which is a real advantage if you are flexible on hero choice.
The City Never Sleeps patch on September 29, 2026 added one specific rule: after the item draft in round 5, every player receives a Corrupted item on top of their drafted items. The draft happens first, then the Corrupted item is handed to you automatically.
Corrupted items carry random negative attributes drawn from a predefined set, and those negatives are identical for all players in a given match. This is not a pure upgrade. Think of it as a high-variance swing in round 5 that affects both teams equally. Valve has not published the full attribute pool, so the exact downside you get is unknown until it appears.
Corrupted items were previously exclusive to the Broker, a limited-time shop that closed when the first new City Never Sleeps hero (Rat King) arrived on October 2, 2026. Street Brawl's round 5 rule is now the main way most players will encounter them.
It is gone entirely. Troopers drop no souls, neutral camps do not spawn, and there is no shop. What replaces it is a fixed grant each round: 10 boons in round 1, then 19, 25, 30, and 34 in subsequent rounds. Ability points follow a similar pattern: 6 in rounds 1 and 2, 5 in rounds 3 and 4, and 10 in round 5.
This completely flips the normal priority list. Nothing to deny, nothing to last-hit, no jungle timing to track. Troopers do hit structures harder than in standard play, though, so escorting your wave into the Guardian still matters.
If you want to understand what Street Brawl throws away, the Deadlock soul farming guide breaks down exactly how the standard economy works, which makes the contrast obvious.
Here's the short answer: no reliable one exists, and the reason is structural. The item draft controls more of each round's outcome than hero selection does. A tier list built on win rates goes stale within a patch because the draft pool changes and item synergies shift.
What is verifiable is the counter-item system. Healbane appears more frequently in drafts against McGinnis, and Knockdown shows up more often against Seven and Vindicta. That pattern is worth knowing when you queue into those heroes.
For a deeper look at how item strength maps to the current meta, the Deadlock item tier list covers win rate and pick rate data that applies across both modes.
Once a round hits three minutes, Overtime begins and trooper stats start climbing. The scaling is aggressive enough that a round you were winning can flip quickly if you let it drag.
| Phase | Trooper health multiplier | Trooper damage multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| Rounds 1-3 Overtime | x1.75 | x1.44 |
| Round 4 Overtime | x2.00 | x1.44 |
| Round 5 Overtime | x2.50 | x1.56 |
Standard Overtime adds 25 to 30 seconds to respawn timers. Urgent Overtime at four and a half minutes adds 40 to 45 seconds. Ziplines have a 20-second cooldown per round, and you cannot pause a Street Brawl match.
The mistake most players make is treating Overtime as a neutral extension. It is not. The trooper wave becomes a genuine threat to structures at x2.5 health and x1.56 damage, so if you are behind in round 5 Overtime, letting your troopers push uncontested is a legitimate path to winning.
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Team size | 4v4 |
| Format | Best-of-five rounds |
| Round timer | 3 minutes (then Overtime) |
| Draft time | 50 seconds before each round |
| Respawn (rounds 1-2) | 25 seconds |
| Respawn (rounds 3-5) | 30 seconds |
| Rerolls per round | 1 (2 with random hero) |
| Exclusive legendaries | 17 items |
| Affects rank | No |
Is Street Brawl ranked? No. It runs completely separately from the ranked ladder and does not affect MMR.
How long does a full match take? Five rounds of roughly three minutes each plus a 50-second draft before each round puts a full match at around 20 minutes.
Can you use souls in Street Brawl? No. Troopers drop nothing, neutrals do not exist in this mode, and there is no shop. Items come entirely from the draft.
What is the Corrupted item in round 5? As of the September 29, 2026 patch, every player receives a Corrupted item automatically after the round 5 draft. It carries random negative attributes that are the same for everyone in the match.
Does the random hero option do anything? Yes. Queueing with a random hero gives you a second item reroll for the first three rounds.
