The Icebreaker Foundation is one of the more involved bonus styles in Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2. You can't just buy it outright or grind a single task. Getting it requires owning two separate battle pass skins, unlocking a dedicated quest series, and then finishing all seven missions in that series, including taking down the Ice King himself. Here's exactly how to get it done.
What do you need to unlock Icebreaker Foundation?
The unlock path has three distinct stages:
- Obtain both Foundation Outfits from the battle pass: The Foundation (Reforged) and New Classic Foundation
- Collect all 12 battle pass rewards across those pages (the outfits alone aren't enough — you need the accessory items too)
- Complete all seven quests in The Foundation (Reforged) quest series
The good news is that you have the entire season to finish this. There's no time-limited event or special window to worry about.

Icebreaker Foundation battle pass page
How to unlock The Foundation (Reforged) quest series
Head to the battle pass and work through page 2, which contains New Classic Foundation, and the page containing The Foundation (Reforged). Every accessory item on those pages counts toward the 12-reward threshold. Once you've claimed all 12, the quest series activates automatically.
If you're still short on XP to reach those pages, there are plenty of active missions this season that can push you over the line. Check out all battle pass skins in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 to see exactly what's on each page and plan your unlock order.
How to complete all seven Foundation (Reforged) quests
With the quest series unlocked, you have 7 missions to finish. Some are quick, others require specific locations or gear. Here's a full breakdown:
info
For the headshot quest, hostile NPCs like Dread Punisher Squibbly are a reliable target since they don't move unpredictably like real players. Farm the headshots in a quieter area of the map to avoid interference.
Where to find The Foundation's lost helmet and cape
This is the quest that trips up most players because neither item is near a named location. The helmet sits on a snowy mountain peak north of Wonkeeland and northwest of Frigid Fortress. The cape is on the south end of the island, close to the coast south of Sus Studios and east of Battlewood Boulevard. Neither piece is hard to grab once you're in the right spot, but the south coast location for the cape is easy to overshoot.
How to defeat the Ice King
The final quest requires you to beat the Ice King in combat. He spawns at multiple possible locations around the island, so you may need to scout a bit before engaging. Come prepared with solid loadout options since boss NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2 hit harder than standard enemies. Hiring a specialist beforehand (which also completes the specialist quest) gives you an ally for the fight.
warning
Don't attempt the Ice King fight at the very start of a match without looting first. He's a boss-tier NPC and will eliminate underprepared players quickly.
What do you get from the Icebreaker Foundation set?
Completing all seven quests unlocks the full Icebreaker Foundation style plus all corresponding bonus accessories. The exact accessories are tied to the quest completion, so you won't be able to mix and match until you've finished the entire series.
Once you've wrapped this up, there's still plenty to do on the battle pass. For more Fortnite guides and the latest on what's worth your time this season, browse more guides on GAMES.GG.
