To revive a teammate in PEAK, apply Bandages or a First Aid Kit while they are unconscious. Once they become a ghost, you need an Altar, a Temple, or a resurrection item such as a Scout Effigy.

That distinction decides your next move. Unconscious scouts have a death timer, and ordinary medical supplies cannot bring back a ghost. Carrying a downed friend pauses that timer, giving you time to find healing or reach safer ground. Check their condition before spending anything, especially a rare Effigy that could save someone later in the climb.

Quick answer

The healing instructions below use PC mouse controls. The Ascent 7 advice includes the changes introduced in patch 2.0.a.

What happens when teammates fall?

An unconscious teammate is still alive, but they cannot climb or help the group. Their death timer continues unless you intervene; once it expires, they become a ghost and require resurrection instead of healing.

Falls and environmental hazards can leave a scout unconscious, while extreme damage can kill them outright. Your rescue options depend on that state:

  • Unconscious: Apply healing, or carry the scout to pause their death timer.
  • Dead or a ghost: Use an Altar, Temple, Scout Effigy, or another resurrection item.

You can recognize injury damage on the stamina bar by its red section and broken-heart icon. That section grows as you take more damage, so a scout who wakes up may still need treatment before another climb.

Method one: Scout Effigy revival

A Scout Effigy resurrects one dead teammate without requiring a campsite or regional summit. It is best for emergencies where reaching a revival structure would take too long or put the remaining scouts at risk.

How do you use a Scout Effigy?

  1. Find the Scout Effigy in your inventory.
  2. Reach the dead teammate's body.
  3. Equip and activate the Effigy near the body.
  4. Check the revived scout's condition before continuing.

The teammate returns with basic health. Getting them back on their feet does not mean they are ready for another dangerous jump.

What limits Scout Effigy revival?

For routine rescues, preserve an Effigy when the team can safely reach an Altar. On Ascent 7 and above, the statue's Curse penalty gives you another reason to consider using the item instead.

Method two: Healing downed teammates

Bandages and First Aid Kits can wake unconscious scouts before they become ghosts. Both can be found in suitcases, making medical supplies worth sharing across the group rather than leaving them with one designated rescuer.

Which healing item should you use?

ItemHealing effectBest for
BandagesRestore 12 healthWaking an unconscious scout when limited healing is enough
First Aid KitRemoves injury damage from the stamina barRecovering an unconscious scout with substantial injury damage

Both items can wake an unconscious teammate. If Bandages are what you have, use them rather than waiting for a First Aid Kit while the death timer runs down.

How do you apply healing on PC?

  1. If you are carrying the scout, put them on the ground.
  2. Equip Bandages or a First Aid Kit.
  3. Aim at your unconscious teammate and right-click.
  4. Let the healing animation finish.
  5. Check that they have woken up and assess their remaining injuries.

A Fairy Lantern offers gradual healing and removes negative effects. You can also give teammates food to help with status effects or achievement requirements, but Bandages and First Aid Kits are the direct medical options for waking an unconscious scout.

Does carrying a teammate stop the death timer?

Carrying an unconscious scout on your back temporarily pauses their death timer. You must drop your backpack to carry them, so account for the supplies you are leaving behind before moving away.

Carrying also costs stamina and makes difficult terrain harder to manage. It is best for buying time when healing is unavailable or the scout needs to be moved somewhere safer; it does not replace treatment.

Method three: Altar revival at campsites

Altars, also called Ancient Statues, resurrect all dead teammates together. They require no consumable items, making them the strongest option when several scouts are ghosts and a survivor can reach camp safely.

Where can you find an Altar?

Look around campfire areas as you progress through the climbing route. Campsites provide several useful features:

  • Campfires for warmth and rest.
  • Supplies that can help the surviving scouts recover.
  • Nearby stone Altars for resurrecting dead teammates.

How do you resurrect the team at an Altar?

  1. Reach the campsite and locate the stone Altar.
  2. Check that surviving climbers are safely through the dangerous section.
  3. Interact with the Altar.
  4. All dead teammates return at the campsite.

Each Altar is single-use. Waiting until surviving scouts are safe prevents you from spending its resurrection before another teammate falls on the approach.

The resurrection happens immediately after interaction, with no healing animation or consumable cost. On Ascent 7 and above, however, Ancient Statue resurrection adds Curse.

Method four: Temple revival

Temples provide another full-team resurrection option at the tops of major regions. They are best for a surviving scout who has already passed the last campsite and can safely complete the remaining climb.

Where are Temples located?

Look for Temple structures at regional high points. These mark regional completion and provide progress checkpoints as well as an opportunity to regroup with dead teammates.

Reaching a Temple with a depleted team is the expensive part in terms of effort. Compare the remaining route with the risk of returning to a body for a Scout Effigy rescue before committing.

What does Temple revival restore?

Temple revival brings back the team, restores full health, and preserves regional progress without consuming an item. That makes it a strong recovery point after a difficult region, provided at least one scout can reach it.

Revival strategy comparison

The best rescue depends on the teammate's condition and the route ahead. Healing is the simplest answer while a scout is unconscious; once they are dead, compare access to their body with access to a revival structure.

How does Ascent 7 change resurrection?

Ascent 7 allows resurrection, but every scout begins with 10 Curse, and an Ancient Statue revival adds 15 Curse. Ascent 8 carries that modifier forward, so repeated statue revivals have a cost beyond reaching the next camp.

Which resurrection items avoid extra Curse?

Scout Effigies and Checkpoint Flags revive teammates without adding Curse. For Ascent 7 and Ascent 8 crews, that makes these alternatives worth considering even when an Ancient Statue is reachable.

Resurrection methodAdded Curse on Ascent 7
Ancient Statue15 Curse
Scout EffigyNone
Checkpoint FlagNone
Book of Bones15 Curse

The Book of Bones can resurrect a dead scout when used on their skeleton, but it still applies the full 15 Curse on Ascent 7. It is also a risky fallback on Ascent 1 and higher, where its combined fall-damage multiplier reaches 16x and any fall damage becomes lethal.

Revival tips and tricks

Pro tips

If rescuers keep falling while trying to reach a teammate, review the climbing and team survival strategies before the next expedition. Safer routes and better stamina management reduce the chance of turning one casualty into several.

Split Bandages, food, and equipment across the team. If one scout carries every First Aid Kit and then falls, the remaining climbers lose access to the supplies they need for the rescue.

Call out dangerous ledges before anyone jumps, and check the route to the nearest Altar before attempting a risky section. A rescuer should work from safe ground rather than repeat the fall that knocked out their friend.

The Ritual Dagger objective for the Last Resort Badge involves sacrificing a teammate. Use the Last Resort Badge guide alongside your team's resurrection plan if that is the purpose of the expedition.

Revive me, bro: common mistakes

An unconscious scout needs treatment; a ghost needs resurrection. Mixing those up wastes the window in which Bandages or a First Aid Kit can still save your teammate.

  • Waiting for a universal revive prompt: You need to apply an appropriate item or carry the unconscious scout yourself.
  • Trying to heal a ghost: Medical supplies cannot reverse full death. Look for a resurrection item or structure.
  • Using an Altar while survivors are still climbing: Its single use is better saved until the remaining scouts are safe.
  • Assuming every resurrection restores full health: Scout Effigies return teammates with basic health. Check their condition before heading straight back onto the cliff.

Frequently asked questions

Can you revive someone by interacting with them directly?

There is no universal interaction that simply wakes an unconscious teammate. Apply Bandages or a First Aid Kit, or carry them to pause the death timer while you arrange treatment.

Where do you find Bandages and First Aid Kits?

Search suitcases around the map. Both medical items can appear in them, and suitcases can also contain the much rarer Scout Effigy.

Can an Altar resurrect several ghosts at once?

Yes. An Altar brings back all dead teammates together without consuming an inventory item. Each Altar is single-use, and Ancient Statue resurrection adds 15 Curse on Ascent 7.

Can you still resurrect teammates on Ascent 7?

Yes. Patch 2.0.a allows resurrection on Ascent 7, with 10 starting Curse and 15 additional Curse from Ancient Statue revivals. Scout Effigies and Checkpoint Flags avoid that added resurrection Curse.
