N Snap Blueprint Location Guide

The Cap 'N Snap machines are Outbound's answer to gacha collectibles, minus any real frustration. Each one looks like an oversized gumball dispenser, and feeding it a single bottlecap spits out a random blueprint for a cosmetic or van decoration. There are exactly 8 machines spread across the game's four biomes, two per biome, and since bottlecaps are scattered generously throughout the world, working through all of them is more a matter of knowing where to look than grinding for currency. Collect every reward and you'll unlock the Snapped 'Em All achievement.

How do you use Cap 'N Snap blueprints?

These blueprints work differently from the standard crafting blueprints you unlock through Signal Towers. Once a machine spits one out, you don't need to register it anywhere. Head to your van, press B to open building mode, then navigate to the Decorations Tab and select the cat-like icon. If you have the required materials on hand, you can build the decoration immediately, and you can craft it as many times as you want afterward.

Some decorations are locked to specific zones inside the van (the dashboard, for example), but the game flags invalid placements with yellow lines, so you won't accidentally waste materials trying to put something where it doesn't fit.

info
Stock up on crafting materials before going on a Cap 'N Snap run. Since blueprints unlock instantly, you can build rewards on the spot if your inventory is ready.

If you're still getting comfortable with van management, the guide on how to deposit materials into your van covers the storage panel and fast-dumping your backpack, which saves a lot of back-and-forth.

All Cap 'N Snap machine locations

The 8 machines are split evenly across Forest and Farm, The Coast, The Canyons, and The Mountains. Here's every location broken down by biome.

Forest and Farm (2 machines)

  • Machine 1: North of the Fire Lookout, on the right side as you cross the bridge. You'll need to repair one of the broken bridges to reach it. If you haven't done that yet, the broken bridges guide walks through crafting Everwood Planks at the Sawmill and fixing all three crossings.
  • Machine 2: East of Machine 1, across the bridge located between the gnomes Grrrreat Scott and Antiivvan.

The Coast (2 machines)

  • Machine 1: South of the Weather Station at the end of a winding road, northeast of the Lighthouse.
  • Machine 2: Directly east of The Maze, across the bridge from Backrock Falls, near the gnome foths.

The Canyons (2 machines)

  • Machine 1: Southeast of Red Ridge Airstrip toward the far east side of the map. Look for it off the corner of a road near some lakes.
  • Machine 2: Directly west of the Canyon Drawbridge. Follow the road northwest from the Signal Tower to find it.

The Mountains (2 machines)

  • Machine 1: Southwest of The Outbound Festival point of interest, near a Signal Tower at the end of a road.
  • Machine 2: Top center of the map, near a Signal Tower and west of a Painting Station.
warning
The Forest and Farm Machine 1 is gated behind a broken bridge. Don't waste time searching for it on foot before the bridge is repaired.

What rewards do Cap 'N Snap machines give?

Every machine dispenses a random cosmetic or decoration blueprint. The rewards cover both interior and exterior van customization, giving you more ways to personalize your home on wheels beyond the default options. Because the output is random, two players hitting the same machine may get different blueprints, but since you can return to machines and bottlecaps are plentiful, filling out your collection doesn't require much luck management.

info
Gnome locations and Painting Stations double as useful navigation anchors when hunting Cap 'N Snap machines. If those landmarks are already on your map, the machines nearby are easy to pinpoint.
