Yu'er's Flesh Lily is on the corpses at Hua's altar in the Flesh Lily Fields, beneath Sha-Chi Tower in Phantom Blade 0. Defeat Hua, Deadly Betrothed, collect the Twin Flesh Lilies, and deliver a lily to Yu'er at the Weeping Creek Valley Outpost.

The request appears early, but reaching the flower requires progressing past Peng Meng and taking a side route outside the tower. Delivery is only part of the job: the Flesh Lily Tale finishes later in Pangzhen, when you help Yu'er's father.

Applies to Phantom Blade Zero at launch (October 29, 2026).

How do you start Yu'er's Flesh Lily quest?

You first encounter Yu'er near the Beginning Bell in Weeping Creek Valley. Climb down the rope to her makeshift camp below the cliff, where approaching her triggers a cutscene.

Ask about curing her sick father to learn that she needs a Flesh Lily. The request appears in your quest tab, but it has no tracking marker to point you toward the flower.

After you defeat Peng Meng, Yu'er appears beside Forge at the Outpost. Her request for medicinal herbs starts Apprentice Healer, a separate Tale. Collecting those herbs does not replace the Flesh Lily objective.

How do you reach the Flesh Lily Fields?

Continue the main story until you reach the Valley Sha-Chi Tower 1st Floor Bell. This is the landmark you need, not the tower summit.

Follow this route beneath Sha-Chi Tower:

  1. Climb the stairs beside the first-floor Bell. Turn right rather than continuing upward through the tower.
  2. Circle around the tower's right side. At the rear, find the opening with the wooden bridge and descending ramp.
  3. Take the ramp underground. Soul slides down the long wooden slope into a cavern filled with red spider lilies.
  4. Clear the enemies at the bottom. Some are already fighting each other, so use their distraction to deal with them individually.
  5. Follow the left-hand path uphill. Take the slope and stone stairs toward the upper clearing. Entering the flower-filled arena triggers Hua's cutscene and boss fight.

Do you have to defeat Hua?

Yes. Hua is an optional boss for the main story, but defeating her is required to collect the flowers for Yu'er. Winning also gives you Scarlet Wraithblade, a two-handed weapon.

Hua can be rough this early. If her attacks keep catching you, explore more of Weeping Creek Valley and unlock additional skills before returning. You can postpone the fight while preparing for another attempt.

How do you beat Hua to collect the flower?

Hua punishes long attack strings with a fast grab. Keep your attacks short, defend against her sequences, and work on draining her Sha-Chi before committing to damage. The Sha-Chi, parry, and Ghoststep combat guide explains the defensive mechanics behind that approach.

Which equipment helps against Hua?

Upgrading your weapons to approximately level 5 gives you access to additional skills before this fight. These options suit different openings:

  • Sanguine Twin: Best for quick attacks during Hua's slower animations, including her overhead slash. Use it if you prefer brief attacks over longer commitments.
  • Dread Axe: A successful charged attack can knock Hua down, giving you time to follow up. Use it when you can recognize an opening for the charge.
  • Focus Pill: Provides another healing option. Equip it if you collected the pill from the chest along the route overlooking the lake basin.

How should you respond to Hua's flowers?

Hua's arena hazards make an apparent opening unsafe if you ignore what is happening around your feet.

Hua's attack or hazardWhat to watch forYour response
Red flowers on the groundFlowers remain briefly before explodingMove clear before starting another attack string
Spinning backstepFloating flowers gather toward her previous positionRelease lock-on and move away from the gathering flowers
Homing white flowersSlow projectiles approach while Hua prepares a teleport follow-upPrioritize evasion and watch Hua, not just the projectiles
Teleport into a grabHua appears close and attempts a Killer Move grabDodge the grab rather than trying to block it

Hua can teleport toward you after you escape a flower cluster. Stay ready to defend at your new position instead of immediately starting a long combo.

Where do you pick up the Twin Flesh Lilies?

After defeating Hua, activate the Flesh Lily Fields Bell, then return to the altar where she stood before the fight. Search the corpses beside the altar and pavilion to collect the Twin Flesh Lilies.

Where do you take the Flesh Lily, and when does the quest end?

Give Yu'er the flower at the Outpost

Return to the Weeping Creek Valley Outpost and speak to Yu'er beside Forge. Give her the Flesh Lily to advance the Tale. She offers you the other lily as a keepsake.

The Flesh Lily Tale remains active after this exchange because Yu'er still needs to get home to Pangzhen. Continue the main story rather than searching the tower for another flower.

Finish the Tale at Yu'er's home in Pangzhen

Later, progress through Pangzhen until you defeat Chang Hong, The Thunder Spear. Yu'er's home is directly ahead after that encounter.

Enter the house and speak to her father. The remaining Flesh Lily is used to revive him, completing the Flesh Lily Tale.

Which of Yu'er's quests can you miss?

Yu'er has three related Tales, and their objectives are separate. Completing all three is required for The Healer's Legacy trophy.

TaleRequired objectiveReward or progressionDeadline
Flesh LilyDeliver the flower, then help Yu'er's father in PangzhenCompletes one requirement for The Healer's LegacyDeliver the flower before defeating Bai Chilian
Apprentice HealerReturn three medicinal herbs to Yu'er at the OutpostMedicine Case, which increases healing from Medicine by 20%Complete before defeating Jing Ye
A Healer's MercyTreat four injured thieves in Crimson Forest, then return to Yu'erCalming Gourd, which lets Medicine recover you from Guard Break and prevents Sha-Chi consumption for 3 secondsComplete before defeating Bai Chilian

The three herbs for Apprentice Healer are Blood-Stopper Vine, Congealeaf, and Blemish Goldweed. After completing that Tale, meet Yu'er at the Thieves' Camp in Crimson Forest to take on A Healer's Mercy.

Common mistakes

  • Searching around Yu'er's first camp: The Flesh Lily is beneath Sha-Chi Tower, not beside the Beginning Bell encounter.
  • Leaving Hua's arena with only Scarlet Wraithblade: Search the corpses at her altar for the flowers.
  • Expecting the Outpost delivery to finish the Tale: The final interaction happens with Yu'er's father in Pangzhen.
  • Putting every healer request off until later: Apprentice Healer has an earlier cutoff than A Healer's Mercy. Finish it before Jing Ye.

Pro tips

Keep a manual save before advancing through Crimson Forest's major bosses. If a Tale becomes marked as failed in your Journal, an earlier save gives you a way to recover that quest route.

If Hua is blocking your progress, explore Weeping Creek Valley for more skills before another attempt. Use the beginner's guide to early weapons and upgrades to plan those side trips rather than repeatedly attempting the fight with the same preparation.

FAQ

Why can't you track the Flesh Lily quest?

The Flesh Lily request appears in the quest tab without a tracking marker. Use the Valley Sha-Chi Tower 1st Floor Bell as your starting landmark, then take the route behind the tower's right side.

Is Hua optional if you want to finish Yu'er's quest?

No. Hua is optional for main-story progression, but you must defeat her to obtain the Twin Flesh Lilies for Yu'er.

Does delivering the flower unlock The Healer's Legacy?

No. You need to complete Flesh Lily, Apprentice Healer, and A Healer's Mercy. Flesh Lily itself ends after helping Yu'er's father in Pangzhen. For the rest of your trophy planning, follow the difficulty and Platinum guide.
