The Halloween season in Phasmophobia means one thing: Blood Moons, glowing red Totems, and a lobby that looks like something went very wrong. The Crimson Eye event runs from October 8 to November 1, 2026, and it rewards you for doing what you already do, investigating haunted locations and identifying ghosts. The difference is that the ghosts are faster, your sanity drains at double the normal rate, and there are cosmetics worth chasing.

What is the Crimson Eye event?

The Crimson Eye is Phasmophobia's annual Halloween event. It wraps Blood Moon weather around a selection of maps and ties event points to your normal investigation work. There are two types of goals running simultaneously: community goals that the entire player base works toward together, and personal goals that track your individual progress toward cosmetics and trophy upgrades.

You do not need to do anything special to opt in. Load into any of the active event maps during the event window and you are already contributing.

Which maps have Blood Moon weather?

Not every map runs Blood Moon weather at the same time. Each day, exactly four maps from the event pool are guaranteed to have Blood Moon conditions. The full pool of eligible maps is:

  • 6 Tanglewood Drive
  • 42 Edgefield Road
  • Grafton Farmhouse
  • 13 Willow Street
  • Bleasdale Farmhouse
  • Point Hope
  • Camp Woodwind
  • Nell's Diner

Nell's Diner is new to the Crimson Eye pool in 2026. 6 Tanglewood Drive and 13 Willow Street have appeared in previous years but both received reworks in 2026, so returning players will find them playing differently. The regular Point Hope is part of the event; Point Hope Restricted is not.

On the contract selection board, maps with active Blood Moon weather show a small red circle. Check it before committing to a location, since playing a non-event map earns you nothing toward Crimson Eye progress.

How do you earn Crimson Eye event points?

Points come from three sources during Blood Moon contracts. The table below breaks down exactly what each activity is worth:

ActivityEvent Points
Correctly identify the ghost10 points + 1 per difficulty multiplier
Complete an optional objective3 points
Interact with a Blood Moon Totem2 points

The difficulty multiplier bonus is worth paying attention to. On Nightmare difficulty, the multiplier is x4, which means a successful ghost identification earns you 14 points instead of 10. Contracts below a 1x difficulty multiplier award zero event points entirely, so do not drop the difficulty below that threshold expecting a faster grind.

How does Blood Moon weather affect ghost behavior?

Blood Moon is not just a visual change. Ghosts hunt at 15% increased speed, and sanity drain runs at 200% of the normal rate (double). That combination means hunts escalate faster and you have less time before a ghost becomes aggressive. Turn on lights immediately when you enter a room, and keep your sanity management tighter than usual.

The Blood Moon cannot be triggered with the Monkey Paw. Outside of the Crimson Eye event, it has only a 2% chance of appearing naturally, which makes the event the best opportunity to practice under these conditions.

What are all the Crimson Eye rewards?

Community rewards

Two community goals are active during the event. The entire player base contributes to these collectively, and they tend to complete within the first few days of the event.

  • First community goal: Beholder ID Card
  • Second community goal: Crimson Eye 2026 Charm and Animated Beholder ID Card

These rewards are granted automatically when you log in after the relevant goal is completed. You do not need to manually claim anything.

Personal rewards

Five personal goals gate the individual cosmetics and trophy upgrades. You need a total of 3,500 event points to complete all five.

Personal GoalRewardPoints Required
Personal Goal 1Crimson Eye Cosmetics200
Personal Goal 2Crimson Eye Trophy100
Personal Goal 3Trophy Upgrade I700
Personal Goal 4Trophy Upgrade II1,000
Personal Goal 5Trophy Upgrade III1,500

The trophy in your hideout is upgradable across multiple years of the event, so progress from previous Crimson Eye events carries over. If you participated last year, you may already be partway through the upgrade tiers.

How do you complete the Crimson Eye event fast?

The most efficient approach is straightforward: play on the highest difficulty you can reliably clear, on whichever Blood Moon maps are active that day. Ghost identification is the single biggest point source at 10 points plus your difficulty bonus, so a fast, confident investigation beats a slow, cautious one every time.

Optional objectives add 3 points each and take minimal extra time if you are already set up for them. Totems are free points, so always interact with them as you move through the map. None of this requires changing how you normally play, just directing your sessions toward the guaranteed Blood Moon maps.

For players who want to squeeze out every possible point, running Nightmare difficulty turns each successful identification into 14 points. At that rate, 25 clean investigations get you to 3,500 points before accounting for objectives and Totems.
