Building the right habitats is the single most important thing you can do to attract more Pokémon to your world in Pokémon Pokopia. Whether you're just starting out or hunting down the rarest spawns, knowing exactly what items to place and where makes all the difference. This guide covers every confirmed habitat in the Habitat Dex, the conditions to create each one, and which Pokémon you can befriend there.

What Are Habitats in Pokémon Pokopia?

Habitats are designated areas in your world where wild Pokémon can appear and take up residence. Think of them as the equivalent of spawn zones from the mainline games, except here you actively construct them yourself using items, furniture, and natural terrain features.

You play as a Ditto who can transform into a human, and your main goal is restoring a barren landscape by crafting habitats that lure Pokémon back. The Habitat Dex tracks every habitat you've discovered and built, and filling it out is one of the core progression systems in the game.

How Do You Unlock Habitats?

Exploring the land sometimes reveals traces of Pokémon on the ground. Interacting with these tiles gives you a hint about a specific habitat, registering it in your Habitat Dex. Once registered, you can check the required items and furniture directly from the Dex, then use Ditto's Moves to place everything in position.

Items don't need to match the exact layout shown in the habitat's icon. They simply need to be placed next to each other. When you've placed everything correctly, a sparkle effect appears confirming the habitat is active.

How to Make Every Habitat

The table below covers every confirmed habitat in Pokémon Pokopia, organized by their Habitat Dex number. Entries marked TBC are still being discovered by the community.

How Do You Move Pokémon Out of a Habitat?

Once a Pokémon occupies a habitat, you can relocate it to a house or another available habitat. Houses require four walls, a door, and at least three pieces of furniture to qualify. After decorating, bring your Pokémon inside and ask them to move in. This frees up the original habitat for a new spawn.

What's the Fastest Way to Fill the Habitat Dex?

Here are the most effective strategies based on how the system works:

  • Explore every corner of the map. Pokémon traces on the ground are the primary way to unlock new habitat hints. You can't build what you haven't discovered.
  • Prioritize multi-spawn habitats early. Habitats like Tall Grass (#001) and Pretty Flower Bed (#008) each attract six different Pokémon, giving you more return per build.
  • Use Castform Weather Charms strategically. Habitats #040, #041, and #042 require Sun or Rain Charms. These unlock rare Pokémon like Charizard, Goomy, and Cacnea that you can't get any other way.
  • Build duplicates of popular habitats. Since only one Pokémon can occupy each habitat, you'll need multiple copies of high-demand setups like Tall Grass to encounter every species listed.
  • Check weather and time conditions. Some Pokémon only appear during specific conditions. Having spare habitats ready means you won't miss a spawn window.

With over 200 confirmed habitats and more still being uncovered by the community, Pokémon Pokopia offers an enormous amount of world-building content to work through. Focus on the habitats tied to Pokémon you want to befriend first, then work outward from there. The more variety you build into your world, the more Pokémon will call it home.
