You manage Radioactive Waste in Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim by carrying it to the Dumping Grounds to leave on the GROUND grid, as this is probably stolen inventory.
Georgio can return the first load you leave behind, so plan for a possible second evening visit. The process below covers packing the barrels, completing the drop-off, and handling his return. It also explains when the Corporate Waste Manager's payment is worth the storage space and trips.
How to dump Radioactive Waste
Pack the barrels before leaving
Each Radioactive Waste barrel occupies a 3 x 4 rectangle, or 12 inventory cells. Make enough room in your backpack for the barrels you intend to remove. Scattered empty cells will not accommodate a barrel unless they form the required rectangle.
Drag the barrel onto the backpack icon on your counter to place it inside. The Kid's Backpack works for this transfer, provided its inventory has room. If you have temporarily stored the barrel in the Trash Can, drag it from there into the backpack.

Pack the barrel before closing
Transfer the waste to the ground
Once the shop closes, follow this sequence:
- Select Leave the Store.
- Take the backpack containing your Radioactive Waste.
- Choose Dumping Ground as your destination.
- On the scavenging screen, find the GROUND grid on the left and your BACKPACK panel.
- Drag every unwanted barrel from BACKPACK onto GROUND.
- Select Return to open the departure prompt.
Make room on the destination grid before transferring each barrel. Waste that remains in your backpack is still coming home with you.
You can scavenge during the same visit. Keep the items you want in your backpack and the waste on the ground before departing; there is no separate waste hand-off needed for this method.
Why Georgio returns the waste
Georgio's return event happens once per run. If you have not triggered it already, your first dump on Day 3 or later can bring him to the shop window the following day with the discarded barrel.
The returned waste appears on the window ledge after his visit. Put it back into your backpack and repeat the disposal process that evening. You only get one outing per night, so you cannot make both trips during the same closing period.

Georgio returns the first dump
The second drop-off removes the returned waste for good. If Georgio has already completed this return event earlier in your run, you do not need an extra trip solely because you are disposing of Radioactive Waste.
Which disposal methods work?
Radioactive Waste has a base value of 0 and is not contraband. Its disposal rules still differ from ordinary unwanted stock.
| Method | Removes the waste? | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Leave it at the Dumping Grounds | Yes | Uses the after-hours disposal process above |
| Offer it to customers | No | Customers refuse the barrels |
| Put it in a Vending Machine | No | The machine does not accept it |
| Put it in the Trash Can and pay Janitorial Service | No | The barrel remains after the nightly cleanup |
| Leave it on the counter through closing | No | It reappears on your table the next morning |
The Trash Can can serve as temporary storage to free space in your main inventory grid. Retrieve the barrel when you are ready to pack it for a trip.
A garbage-collection message in the Nightly Report does not mean the waste was removed. Janitorial Service can complete its cleanup while the barrel remains inside the can.
Should you accept the Corporate Waste Manager's deal?
Compare payment with storage demand
The Corporate Waste Manager is a one-time visitor who can appear randomly in the early weeks. He becomes eligible from Day 3 if you skipped the introduction, or Day 11 if you played it. Those are starting points for his possible arrival, not guaranteed appointment days.
He offers 100 credits per barrel, paid when you accept the waste. Budget that one-off payment around stock, nightly fees, and rent with the Probably Stolen shop economy guide.
| Dialogue choice | Payment if all barrels fit | Combined barrel footprint |
|---|---|---|
| Take 1 barrel | 100 credits | 12 cells |
| Take 3 barrels | 300 credits | 36 cells |
| Take 5 barrels | 500 credits | 60 cells |
These totals assume every barrel fits on your table. A larger dialogue choice does not guarantee the full payment: barrels that cannot fit are not delivered and earn nothing. Check that your free space can accommodate the individual barrel shapes before choosing.
Choose a load you can clear
Accept fewer barrels when your table is crowded or your backpack cannot carry the entire batch. A large payment also brings more inventory to move, and an unfinished Georgio return event can commit your next two evening outings to disposal. The deal is easier to justify when you already intend to visit the Dumping Grounds and have room to transport the waste.
If you plan to spend the payment immediately, compare the Probably Stolen best early upgrades before committing money needed for rent. The barrel payment is immediate, but clearing your table still requires the after-hours work.
Why waste appears without the manager
The Makeshift Reactor produces barrels
The Makeshift Reactor starting perk disconnects your shop from station power and protects it from blackouts. Dr. Jackson supplies an upgradable Makeshift Micro Nuclear Reactor at the start of the run.
The reactor requires regular repairs. As it deteriorates, Radioactive Waste appears in your store, at roughly one barrel every nine nights without upgrades. Unlike the Corporate Waste Manager's visit, this can create an ongoing disposal task.
If you are choosing a new run, the Probably Stolen best starting specialization guide covers the broader starting choices. For an existing reactor run, reserve backpack room for waste before closing so a newly produced barrel can leave on your next Dumping Grounds trip.
