Break and Steal an Egg has eight known mutations that multiply pet earnings, with Gold and Diamond coming from hatches and six others requiring weather or events.
In this Roblox game, the strongest mutation is not always attached to the pet worth keeping. A high base earning rate can beat a larger multiplier on a weaker animal. Use the checklist below to find each mutation’s required condition, then compare final Cash income before deciding which pets to bring home.
All mutations and their multipliers
Mutations increase both a pet’s earning rate and its sale value. The eight mutations split into two hatch mutations, three weather mutations, and three special-event mutations.
| Mutation | Multiplier | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | 1.5x | Random chance when hatching an egg |
| Diamond | 2x | Random chance when hatching an egg |
| Lightning | 2.5x | During Thunderstorm weather |
| Frozen | 2.5x | During Blizzard weather |
| Angelic | 3x | During Angelic weather |
| Hacker | 3.5x | During the Hacker Event |
| Time | 4x | During the Time Fragment Event |
| Void | 5x | During the Void Event |
Lightning and Frozen give identical income boosts. If you are comparing otherwise identical pets, neither has an earnings advantage over the other.
How to get mutations
Hatch mutations: open more eggs
Your main way to pursue hatch mutations is to increase the number of eggs you open. A faster pickaxe reduces the time spent breaking eggs, letting you create more hatch opportunities during the same session.
Match your tool to the zone you are farming. The Stone Pickaxe is recommended for the Forest, while the Golden Pickaxe is recommended for the Desert. Use the Break and Steal an Egg pickaxes guide to compare upgrades before spending Cash on your next tool.
Follow this loop:
- Choose a zone where you can break eggs efficiently.
- Open eggs and check the animals that hatch for mutations.
- Grab the animal you want to keep.
- Escape the guards and carry it back to your base to earn Cash.
Higher zones contain more valuable pets, so progressing beyond an early area can improve the starting income that a mutation multiplies. Balance that benefit against how quickly your pickaxe can break the eggs there. A valuable target is less useful for repeated hatch attempts if each egg takes too long to open.

Gold starts with an egg hatch
Weather mutations: check the active condition
Weather determines which weather-specific mutation you can pursue. Use the checklist to match the active condition to your target before starting a run. If you want Frozen, for example, a Thunderstorm is not the condition you need.
You do not need to stop ordinary egg farming while waiting for suitable weather. More hatches can still produce hatch mutations, and better base pets remain useful even without an event-specific effect.
Special-event mutations: plan around availability
Hacker, Time, and Void depend on their matching special events. These are opportunities to pursue stronger multipliers when the required event is active, not targets you can reliably farm through ordinary hatching alone.
Keep the Break and Steal an Egg Admin Abuse event schedule separate from your expectations for mutation weather. Do not treat an Admin Abuse start time as a guaranteed appearance of a particular mutation condition.
When your target event appears, focus on animals whose base earnings make the multiplier worthwhile. Chasing the strongest effect on a low-income pet can leave you with less Cash than keeping a better animal with a smaller boost.
Which mutation is best?
Choose the pet with the higher final Cash-per-second rate when income is your goal.
Void wins on the same pet
Void is the strongest mutation, followed by Time and Hacker. That ranking answers which effect gives the largest boost to the same pet. It does not rank every mutated animal against every other animal.

Void leads the multiplier list
Compare pets with this calculation:
base income × mutation multiplier = mutated income
The two values work together. A larger multiplier cannot automatically make up for a much lower starting income, so check both before choosing between catches.
Use the starting rates in the Break and Steal an Egg all pets guide to identify valuable animals, then apply the relevant multiplier. This also helps you decide whether moving into a higher zone is more useful than continuing to chase a stronger effect in your current area.
Worked example: Diamond Amphiptere
Amphiptere is a Celestial pet with a base earning rate of $125M/s. Applying Diamond’s multiplier produces the following comparison:
| Amphiptere version | Calculation | Cash income |
|---|---|---|
| Unmutated | Base earning rate | $125M/s |
| Diamond | $125M/s × 2 | $250M/s |
A Void pet would need a base earning rate above $50M/s to beat that Diamond Amphiptere. At exactly $50M/s before its mutation, it would match the Amphiptere’s $250M/s output.
That threshold is a calculated comparison, not the base rate of a specific pet. You can use the same method for any two animals: divide the income you want to beat by the competing pet’s multiplier to find the starting rate it needs.
A rarer mutation is worth pursuing, but it should not replace a better earner simply because its multiplier is larger.
