The Jujutsu Shenanigans Halloween update (V1.84) is live, and it brings a lot more than pumpkins on players' heads. The event runs through November 23, 2026, giving you a month to farm candies, unlock limited cosmetics, and check out the newly public Hired Killer and Register characters. Here's everything you need to know to make the most of it before the shop closes.

How do you reach the Halloween Candy Shop?

The shop is not on the main map. You need to travel through a portal to reach it, and the path is easy to miss if you're sprinting through the street fight area.

Step 1: Find the brown haunted house

Head away from the crowded street fight and take the side street toward the graveyard. You're looking for the brown haunted house on the edge of the map. Its yard is fenced off as a graveyard courtyard.

Step 2: Locate the purple portal

Inside the graveyard courtyard, walk straight toward the glowing purple portal positioned between two bone arches. It's hard to miss once you're in the right area.

Step 3: Cross the floating Halloween realm

Step through the portal and you'll land in the floating Halloween realm. Cross the platforms past the cauldrons and pumpkins until you reach the counter staffed by a pumpkin-headed character.

Step 4: Open the shop

Press E at the counter to open the Halloween candy trade menu. This displays all available rewards and their candy costs.

What can you buy at the Halloween Candy Shop?

Here's the short answer: four reward categories, with prices ranging from 15 to 250 candies.

RewardCandy CostNotes
Broom Item15Equippable flying item; Halloween-only
Halloween Emotes [2026]100Random emote from the 2026 pool
Halloween Skins [2026]100Only available during this event
Halloween Emotes [2025]250Last chance to get last year's emotes

The 2026 Halloween Skins are the priority purchase here. Once the event ends, they're gone. The 2025 emotes cost more than double the current-year options, so only chase those if you specifically missed them last year and have candies to spare.

What skins are available?

The Halloween skins cover several categories. For Kogane, you can equip the Pirate Hat, Pumpkin, or Ghost skin. The Sniper gets an AWP Asiimov skin (the orange-and-white design from Counter-Strike). Register has two exclusive skins: Sticky Notes and True Pole. Style skins include Salaryman, Withered, Zero, Pumpkin Hat, Gubby Rabbit, and Shades.

What emotes are in the 2026 pool?

There are 17 Halloween emotes total, and you receive one at random each time you spend 100 candies. The pool includes Brains (zombie walk), Jumpscared, Don't Be Afraid (pump-action shotgun animation), Happy Halloween, Missing, I am Human, Head Spin, Pyramid (Silent Hill reference), The Ring, Shaggy, Spooky Disguise (random mask each activation), Chainsaw Run, Thriller2, Zombie Goofy, Showtime, Skeleton, and Let me Go.

The mistake most players make is spending all their candies on emotes hoping to hit a specific one. Since the result is random, set a target budget and stop once you hit it.

How do you earn candies in Jujutsu Shenanigans?

Candies come from two sources: kills and in-game events. The game announces when a new event is starting with a countdown, but it doesn't tell you which type until it begins.

Trick or Treating (door event)

Buildings on the map spawn wooden doors marked with a pumpkin symbol. Walk up to one and open it to receive 10 to 20 candies. There's a small chance of being tricked and getting nothing, but this is rare. After a door is opened, it disappears for all players on the server and only returns after a 1:30-minute cooldown. Since doors are server-wide, another player opening one removes it for you too.

Pumpkin Head event

A random player gets designated as the Pumpkin Head for 2 minutes. Every other player hunts them down. Ragdolling the current Pumpkin Head transfers the role to you. Whoever holds the Pumpkin Head role when the timer expires earns 10 to 30 candies. The strategy here is to avoid getting ragdolled in the final 10 seconds, not to hold the role the entire time.

The door event appears to spawn slightly more often than the Pumpkin Head event, so don't plan your session around the latter.

What changed for Hired Killer and Register in V1.84?

Both characters are now publicly available in the character dropdown. This is the bigger gameplay news from the patch for anyone who plays competitively.

Hired Killer additions

Hired Killer received the most content of any character in this update. The full list from V1.84:

AdditionType
Hidden InventorySpecial
FlourishMove
DebilitateMove
TranscendMove
RuptureMove
LassoMove
WhiplashMove
The WrathVariant
The GreedVariant
The PrideVariant
AscendVariant
ParadiseVariant
ReincarnationVariant
Twirling StrikeVariant

That's 1 new special, 6 new moves, and 7 new variants in a single patch. Hired Killer's moveset is now substantially larger, and the variant count means there's real build flexibility to explore.

Register additions

Register went public in this update and gained two new awakening moves: Road Rage and 132-Square-Foot Two-Story House. The Big Moves system was also reworked somewhat, and Littering and Gushing Wound now properly stick to objects and throwables.

What else changed in V1.84?

The patch is one of the bigger ones this year. Beyond the Halloween event and character releases, several systems and characters received meaningful changes.

Sky Assassin now requires a height threshold to use the aerial evasive, and players can no longer lock onto the user while invisible. Sky Distortion knocks enemies away when they're close, and the high aerial turbulence hitbox is larger.

Puppet Master melee attacks now consume awakening, skill costs during awakening were adjusted, and the multi-NPC body system for Absolute was removed entirely.

Disaster Plants took damage nerfs across the board: Chain knockback spikes dropped from 7 to 6, Surging Thorns went from 5-5-5 to 3-3-5, and the special variant damage dropped from 9 to 6.

The Domain system saw barrier damage reductions across multiple characters (Roach Swarm down 60%, Slicing Exorcism down 70%, Defense Response down 25%, Perfection club fists down 65%, Disaster Plants uppercuts and downslam down 50%). Domain clash cooldowns were slightly reduced, and you can no longer be hit by non-melee attacks during a clash.

Combat changes include: hitting a player now triggers a combat tag, hitting dead players no longer grants awakening, and automatic respawn is now disabled by default (a setting under Controls can revert this).

The Shop added skins, two new items (C4 and RPG), a new Victory Flash called Final Dessert, and 12 new emotes including Cory, California Girls, and Richard.

Kogane gained 7 new Shenanigans (Liquidation, Transfer, Sunrise, Nightmare, Steed, Void Strider, Overproduction), a new playlist button, and can now respond to basic chat messages from players.

Ranked Duels temporarily defaults to a flat map with no destruction and no grass until the new maps are fixed.

Skill Builder added a Water block, three new visual effects, horses to the Vehicle Block, and missing animations for Vessel, Switcher, Salaryman, Perfection, Monkey Kid, Black Death, Sky Assassin, and Head of the Hei.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get candies by fighting players in public lobbies? No. Candies come from the door event, the Pumpkin Head event, and kills, but not from general PvP outside of those event contexts.

Is the Broom Item permanent? No. The Broom is available for the duration of the Halloween event and will be removed when it ends on November 23. Its main use is flying to doors faster, though players have found it useful for combat repositioning too.

How many emotes are in the Halloween pool? There are 17 Halloween emotes total. Each 100-candy purchase gives you one at random.

What happens if another player opens a door before you? The door disappears for the entire server. It returns after a 1:30-minute cooldown, so either wait or look for another door.
