Clover RPG hands you a random race at character creation, and the gap between rolling Human at 50% and landing Lesser Angel at 2% is enormous. Your race shapes your survivability, your resource economy, and how hard your build can push in both PvE and PvP. Knowing which passives actually matter before spending a reroll is the difference between upgrading and sidestepping into an equally mediocre pick.

This guide covers every race in Roblox Clover RPG, ranked from S to C tier with full passive breakdowns, roll chances, and honest advice on what to keep versus what to replace.

Clover RPG race tier list at a glance

Before the full breakdowns, here is every race sorted by tier. Rankings reflect performance in modes where race passives are active. Ranked mode disables race passives but keeps stat bonuses, so Divine Retribution and Wrath Unbound do not factor into ranked play.

S tier races: the best in Clover RPG

Lesser Angel

Lesser Angel is the strongest all-around race outside ranked. Its survival passive, Divine Retribution, triggers once per life when you would take lethal damage, instead regenerating 15% of your HP. That is not a guaranteed safe window, but it is a second chance that no specific magic or weapon type is required to activate.

The supporting stats are +10% Magic Resistance and +40 Energy. Resistances stack multiplicatively in Clover RPG, so you cannot simply add Angel's 10% to another resistance source and expect a flat sum. The Energy bonus carries over into ranked even when Divine Retribution does not.

Heavenbound accelerates Spirit Contract progression and extends Spirit Dive duration, adding long-term value for players building toward that contract path.

  • Drop chance: 2%
  • Passives: Divine Retribution (15% HP on lethal hit), Heavenbound (faster Spirit Contract, longer Spirit Dive)
  • Stats: +10% Magic Resistance, +40 Energy
  • Variants: 4

Light magic's Divine Light heal and Time magic's Rewind are both recovery tools that pair with Angel's survival angle, but neither eliminates the need to create space after Divine Retribution fires. Light's heal sits on a 60-second cooldown, and Rewind's recovery limits are not fully established.

Lesser Demon

Lesser Demon has the highest physical damage ceiling of any race. Wrath Unbound stacks 2.5% physical damage per melee hit landed without being hit yourself, up to 10 stacks for a maximum of 25% bonus damage. That ceiling is conditional, not a flat bonus, and ranked removes it entirely.

What remains in ranked is +5% Physical Resistance and +20 HP, both solid defensive stats. Hellsworn speeds up Devil Contract progression and extends Devil Mode duration, making the race genuinely useful even before you start stacking hits.

  • Drop chance: 2%
  • Passives: Wrath Unbound (up to 25% physical DMG at 10 stacks), Hellsworn (faster Devil Contract, longer Devil Mode)
  • Stats: +5% Physical Resistance, +20 HP
  • Variants: 5

Flame magic's M1 interactions and Lightning's thunder-imbued attacks are promising pairings for Demon in modes where Wrath Unbound is active. Parry stun duration has been extended, particularly against Heavy weapons, so maintaining a clean hit streak requires real discipline rather than just aggressive swinging.

A tier races: strong keeps for dedicated builds

Dark Elf

Dark Elf is the clearest offensive caster race. Spellcaster adds a flat 5% spell damage with no conditions: no hit streak, no weather requirement, no low-health trigger. Pair that with +10% Mana Regen and +10 Energy, and you have a race that supports continued casting when Mana availability is the bottleneck.

  • Drop chance: 10%
  • Passives: Spellcaster (+5% spell DMG)
  • Stats: +10% Mana Regen, +10 Energy
  • Variants: 5

The spell damage bonus applies to offensive spells across grimoires including Wind, Light, and Time. It does not strengthen Divine Light healing or improve Rewind recovery; it benefits the damaging part of your kit. Dark Elf is an easy keep for any dedicated mage before chasing a Legendary roll whose passive may not suit your playstyle.

Elf

Elf solves a different caster problem than Dark Elf. World Tree's Blessing reduces all spell Mana costs by 15%, so a 100-Mana spell costs 85 before other modifiers. That saving applies at the moment of casting, not as regeneration after the fact.

  • Drop chance: 20%
  • Passives: World Tree's Blessing (15% less Mana to cast spells)
  • Stats: +20 Energy
  • Variants: 5

Wind magic's Aerial Efficiency also reduces airborne spell costs by 30%, making it a natural pairing to investigate. The combined stacking formula is unverified, so do not assume a 45% total discount. If your Mana rarely runs dry and cooldowns are the actual limiting factor, Dark Elf's damage bonus becomes the better offensive choice.

B tier races: decent foundations, pending numbers

Eldritch

Eldritch offers a steady 2.5% physical damage bonus through Corrupt Physique with no streak condition attached. That makes it a more reliable, if smaller, offensive option compared to Lesser Demon's stack-dependent ceiling. The +10 HP and +2 Max Resolve round out the package.

  • Drop chance: 10%
  • Passives: Corrupt Physique (+2.5% physical DMG)
  • Stats: +10 HP, +2 Max Resolve
  • Variants: 3

The practical value of those two extra Resolve points is not yet established. Strength-focused builds and Misdirect traits fit the same direction as Eldritch's physical bonus, but exact interaction testing is still needed. Do not spend rerolls moving off Eldritch until you know what specific problem a replacement would actually solve.

Dryad

Dryad's appeal is recovery. Nature's Grace triggers when wounded, briefly increasing HP regeneration to help you recoup damage during a fight. Flame, Beast, and Lightning currently lack explicit self-heals in their ability descriptions, so an external recovery passive has genuine value for those builds.

  • Drop chance: 6%
  • Passives: Nature's Grace (HP regen when wounded)
  • Stats: +10 Energy
  • Variants: 3

The missing specifics are significant: how wounded you must be to trigger it, how much it heals, how long it lasts, and how often it resets. Those numbers will determine whether Dryad is genuinely useful in extended fights or just a minor comfort. Ranked removes Nature's Grace entirely, leaving only the +10 Energy stat bonus.

C tier races: worth progressing with, not worth keeping

Human

Human is the most common roll at 50% and the weakest race for direct combat. Entrepreneur improves NPC negotiation and persuasion, and the passive lets you sell items for 15% more. A base sale worth 100 becomes 115 before other modifiers. That scales with how much loot you move, not with your damage output.

  • Drop chance: 50%
  • Passives: Entrepreneur (better NPC negotiation, sell items for 15% more)
  • Stats: None
  • Variants: None

Human has no damage perk and no survival perk. The Bargain Master trait is a potential economy pairing, but the combined selling calculation is unverified. Human is the clearest candidate for a combat-focused reroll, but you can use the income advantage while progressing rather than treating a common roll as an emergency.

What's the best race for each build?

The right race depends on your playstyle and the mode you prioritize.

For physical builds: Lesser Demon is the ceiling pick in modes where Wrath Unbound is active. Eldritch is a steady fallback that does not require maintaining a hit streak.

For magic builds: Dark Elf adds consistent spell damage. Elf reduces Mana costs, which matters more when resource efficiency is the limiting factor rather than raw output.

For survivability: Lesser Angel is the broadest recommendation across build types. Divine Retribution works regardless of your grimoire or weapon.

For ranked PvP: Compare the stat bonuses that survive the passive disable. Angel brings +10% Magic Resistance and +40 Energy; Demon brings +5% Physical Resistance and +20 HP; Eldritch brings +10 HP and +2 Max Resolve; Dark Elf keeps +10% Mana Regen and +10 Energy; Elf keeps +20 Energy; Dryad keeps +10 Energy.

How do you reroll your race in Clover RPG?

To change your race, use a Race Reroll item. The result is random every time, weighted by the drop chances listed above. There is no way to select a specific race.

Three ways to get Race Rerolls:

  • Purchase them from the main menu or in-game. Race Rerolls bought from the main menu cost less but cannot be traded with other players.
  • Trade with other players. Race Rerolls are a rare trade item since most players hold onto them.
  • Farm the Gladiator boss. Race Rerolls can drop from this boss, but the drop rate is low. Level your character before attempting it.

The Gladiator drop rate is not publicly established, so there is no reliable fight count to plan around. Treat boss farming as a long-term passive acquisition method rather than a targeted grind.

Which races should you keep or reroll?

  • Keep Lesser Angel for broad survivability outside ranked and Spirit Contract progression. Its resistance and Energy stats hold value in ranked too.
  • Keep Lesser Demon for weapon-focused PvE or Devil Contract builds. Ranked strips Wrath Unbound, so weigh the defensive stats alone for that mode.
  • Keep Dark Elf or Elf on dedicated caster builds. Both are strong enough to build around rather than treating as consolation prizes.
  • Keep Eldritch or Dryad while you develop your build. A lower tier placement does not mean an immediate reroll improves your character.
  • Reroll Human when you have spare rerolls and a clear upgrade target. Use its selling bonus in the meantime.

For a full picture of every system that shapes your character, the Clover RPG tier list covers magics, races, enchantments, and weapons together.
