The Frenzied Flame trophy and achievement requires you to ignite a bonfire hidden inside the Fortress section of Valor Mortis. The bonfire takes the form of a sword buried in the ground, a direct reference to the bonfire and Frenzied Flame iconography from Elden Ring. Using your Fire Transmutation on the sword triggers the trophy. That is the entire reward: the achievement itself and the satisfaction of finding it.
What do you need before you can ignite the bonfire?
This trophy cannot be obtained early. Two progression gates stand between you and the Fortress:

How to ignite the bonfire in the castle
The path through the Fortress to the bonfire room is not marked, and it is easy to walk straight past the correct route if you follow the main path too closely. Here is exactly where to go after entering the Fortress.
Step 1: Reach the Ramparts Lantern
Progress through the Fortress normally, opening shortcuts and clearing enemies as you go. Your navigation target is the Ramparts Lantern, which serves as a checkpoint. Rest here if needed.
Step 2: Turn around at the Ramparts Lantern
Once you activate the Ramparts Lantern, do not go up or down the stairs directly in front of it. Turn 180 degrees and head back through the doorway you came from.
Step 3: Navigate down to the swing room
- Turn right after going back through the doorway
- Descend the ladder
- Continue down the stairs below it
- Enter the room with the blue branch hanging across the gap

Step 4: Find the passage through the goop room
After landing from the branch swing:
- Turn right and go through the door ahead
- Crouch under the goop blocking the passage
- Exit through the opposite side of the room
Step 5: Find the stairs next to the torch
After descending the stairs on the far side of the goop room, you will enter a larger room. Head to the middle of the room, then turn left 90 degrees. The stairs you want are right next to a torch, directly opposite a locked room filled with poison. Take those stairs down.
Step 6: Reach the sword room and ignite the bonfire
Run down the long corridor at the bottom of those stairs. At the far end on the left, you will find a room containing a sword buried in the ground. Equip your Fire Transmutation and use it on the sword. The bonfire ignites, the Frenzied Flame trophy unlocks, and that is it.
