The Hesperides of Love and Hate is one of the more story-rich World Quests added to Genshin Impact in the 7.0 update. Set in Snezhnaya, it ties directly into the Eye of Graeae questline and introduces one of the region's local legends through a sequence that mixes stealth, platforming, puzzles, and a boss fight. The quest is mostly straightforward, but a few sections will stop you cold if you go in blind.
How do you start the Hesperides of Love and Hate quest?
The starting location is one of the trickier ones in Snezhnaya. Head to the teleport point south of Svetloledovka and use the Link Mechanism there to drop into the quest area. You cannot reach the starting point by simply walking or gliding from the surrounding terrain, so the Link Mechanism is the only practical entry.
Once you land, a mysterious blonde boy will appear. Follow him until he stops, then continue toward the House of Hesperides. Any enemies along the path can be defeated or sprinted past; neither choice affects the quest outcome.

Part 1: Through the Gates of Ivory
Enter the House of Hesperides mansion and navigate to the marked location inside. Sit on the indicated sofa to watch the entertainment sequence play out. After that, make your way upstairs to the chapel. The path is not immediately obvious: go up the main stairs, cross to the opposite side of the floor, then look for a secondary staircase turning right that leads up to the chapel.
Inside the chapel, Pavlina appears alongside the blonde boy. When Pavlina moves to attack him, Aksinya intervenes. The Traveler then wakes from what turns out to be a dream, and Aksinya uses the Eye of Graeae to task them with locating the fragments.

Part 2: The Sun's Gilded Apple and the stealth section
How does the stealth section work?
Head to the next marked location. This section requires stealth: you need to reach a fragment without triggering the guards. Place cubes to block their line of sight and avoid stepping into any red detection zones. The guards follow fixed patrol patterns, so take a moment to watch the timing before committing to a move.
After collecting the fragment, the next objective sits near the mansion's original teleport entry point. Return to where you first arrived and jump onto the balcony from the side to enter the room. Inside waits a two-part puzzle.

Part 3: How to solve the Secret Room puzzle?
The puzzle asks you to position three statues so their shadows fall correctly on the wall. It runs in two stages:
- Place the three creature-holding statues in the correct positions to cast the right shadows. This unlocks a hidden room.
- Inside the hidden room, find the sword-statue blueprint. Take it back and swap one of the original creature statues for the sword variant to complete the puzzle sequence.
The shadow alignment is the key indicator. If a shadow does not line up with the wall pattern, adjust the statue's position until it does.
Part 4: Procrustes' Iron Bed
Return to the main chapel. Pavlina reappears and kills the blonde boy before vanishing. This triggers a wave of enemies in the chapel room. Defeat all of them to advance the quest. There is no trick to this section; it is a straight combat encounter.
Part 5: Bell Ringing at Dusk and reaching the Cloudborne Altar
Head outside and follow the map marker. The NPCs in the area turn hostile at this point, but you can run past all of them without engaging.
Progress leads to a lift. Before you can use it, you must defeat the Expedition Returner miniboss guarding it. Bring a solid team here; the Expedition Returner hits hard enough to punish underprepared squads. Ride the lift to the top, then interact with the Rumblebranch to boost upward. From there, locate the two Rubletwigs in the nearby area. Both require some platforming to reach, but neither is hidden; they sit at the ends of accessible paths.
Return the Rubletwigs to the Rumblebranch, use it again to reach the Cloudborne Altar, then follow the path until you find Pavlina waiting at the top.
Part 6: How to defeat Pavlina?
Pavlina is the final boss of this quest. The fight takes place at elevation, so watch your footing. Stellar Glimmer reactions are particularly effective here; building a team around Snezhnaya's elemental reaction system will let you burn through her health bar faster than standard elemental combos.

Once Pavlina is defeated, Aksinya rewards the Traveler with one of the parts of the Eye of Graeae, completing the Hesperides of Love and Hate World Quest.

Quest rewards and why it matters
Beyond the standard World Quest rewards, completing this quest unlocks a fragment of the Eye of Graeae, one of the main collectible progression items tied to Snezhnaya's broader questline. Skipping this quest will leave that slot empty and block related content that depends on assembling the full Eye.
This quest is also one of the better-written pieces of Snezhnaya lore, giving real context to Aksinya's role among the region's legends. If you are working through the 7.0 content in order, this one earns its place on the priority list.
