Who is Nicole in Genshin Impact?
Nicole is Genshin Impact's first playable Hexenzirkel Witch, a 5-star Pyro Catalyst support who debuted in the first banner phase of version 6.6 alongside Durin and Prune. She's been part of the game's lore since launch, known as the Silent "Mage" and the Voiceless "Angel," an over 6,000-year-old being who helped shape the world long before the Traveler arrived. Her English voice is provided by Sophie Shad, with Toyoguchi Megumi handling the Japanese dub. What matters for your roster, though, is what she does on the field: provide up to 600 ATK as a teamwide buff, a durable Pyro shield, and off-field coordinated damage that scales with your active character's stats.
What does Nicole's kit actually do?
Nicole's entire identity as a support revolves around her Elemental Skill, Revelation Edict: Unmanifest Light. When cast, it deals AoE Pyro DMG, grants nearby party members Grace of Kenosis (an ATK buff), and creates a Shield of Blazing Light that scales directly with Nicole's own ATK. After the active character stays on-field for a short time, Grace of Kenosis upgrades into Guidance of Theosis, providing even stronger support effects. If the active character is a Hexerei character, this upgrade happens instantly.

Nicole's Elemental Skill shield
Her Elemental Burst, Revelation: Ladder of Divine Ascent, puts Nicole into Silent Contemplation mode. Active party members can then trigger Arcane Projections, coordinated off-field attacks based on the active character's element that scale with that character's ATK. In Hexerei teams, the Hexerei: Secret Rite passive further boosts Arcane Projection damage, making those compositions her natural home.
The key design point: both her shield strength and her ATK buffs scale off Nicole's own ATK. That means every stat point you invest in ATK improves her offense and defense simultaneously.
Talent priority
Nicole's Normal Attack, Allegoria, is irrelevant. She never stays on-field long enough for it to matter, so keep it at level 1-4 and move on.
- Elemental Skill (Revelation Edict: Unmanifest Light): Level to 9-10. This is the entire point of the character.
- Elemental Burst (Revelation: Ladder of Divine Ascent): Level to 8-9. Useful in Hexerei teams, but secondary to the Skill.
If your rotations feel uncomfortable or your ER is falling short, consider skipping the Burst entirely in some team compositions. Dropping it lets you focus purely on ATK and run a shorter, cleaner rotation while still getting full buff value from her Skill.
What are the best weapons for Nicole?
Nicole wants ATK and Energy Recharge. Her signature weapon delivers both, but there are solid alternatives at every tier.
Starcaller's Watch (Citlali's signature) can work in Overload teams where Elemental Mastery matters, but Nicole loses significant ATK% compared to her signature. Don't run it as a general-purpose option.
The recommended pull order for spenders: grab Angelos' Heptades before going for C1. The weapon provides more immediate value than the first constellation.

Nicole weapon priority options
What artifacts should you run on Nicole?
Celestial Gift (4-piece) is the only set worth farming for Nicole in version 6.6. The 2-piece bonus gives 20% Energy Recharge, which directly addresses her ER requirements. The 4-piece passive, triggered after using her Elemental Skill, grants all nearby party members a 20% Elemental DMG Bonus matching Nicole's element. With Hexerei: Secret Rite active in the team, this upgrades to Mortal Hymn: party members gain a 40% Elemental DMG Bonus for Nicole's element and the active character's element simultaneously. That's one of the strongest artifact passives in the game for a support unit.
Until you have four good Celestial Gift pieces, Noblesse Oblige (4-piece) works as a placeholder. It's a standard ATK% buff for the team after Burst use, nothing special, but functional.
Main stats and substats
Substat priority: ATK% > Energy Recharge > Flat ATK > CRIT Rate
Target stats: 4,000 ATK (3,800 is acceptable), and 150-200% Energy Recharge without her signature weapon. The Celestial Gift 2-piece bonus covers 20% of that ER requirement, so finding the remaining amount through substats is realistic. With Favonius weapon users in the team and good particle funneling, you can sit closer to the 150% end of that range.
Nicole's shield and ATK buff both scale with her ATK stat. Every ATK% roll you find improves both her survivability contribution and her offensive buffs at the same time. Prioritize it over everything except the minimum ER threshold.
What are Nicole's best teams?
Nicole's buffs are teamwide and scale well with ATK-focused characters. Her best teams all share one trait: multiple damage sources that benefit from raw ATK increases.
Premium teams
Durin is the common thread in all three. As an off-field damage dealer who scales with ATK, he benefits directly from Nicole's teamwide buffs even when not on-field. Varka is particularly interesting here because he deals both Pyro and Anemo DMG, which means the Celestial Gift set's Mortal Hymn upgrade can boost both damage types simultaneously, a synergy that no previous support could replicate.
Pyro and Overload teams
Nicole fits comfortably into mono-Pyro and Vaporize compositions. Overload teams are functional but require the on-fielder to carry most of the damage, which can feel limiting in Stygian Onslaught and similar endgame modes. Vape and Melt teams get similar or better results with Nicole slotted in.
Electro teams
Electro Overload teams work better than Pyro Overload because you get two distinct damage sources. Raiden, Clorinde, and Razor all have reliable Electro application and can function as the solo Electro unit in the Nicole/Durin/Chevreuse framework. Clorinde sees only a minor improvement over her Fischl C6 team due to diminishing returns on ATK buffs.
Anemo teams
Xiao and Wanderer players see significant gains here. Both characters scale with ATK, and the Nicole/Durin pairing gives them a competitive edge against other top DPS options.
How good are Nicole's constellations?
Nicole works at C0. Her core kit, the ATK buff, the shield, and the off-field Arcane Projections, is fully available without spending a single extra pull. Constellations improve the ceiling, but they don't fix a broken floor.
At C2, Nicole surpasses Bennett in almost every team that scales with ATK. The 25% Elemental RES reduction alone is worth the extra pull investment for players running endgame content on multiple teams.
A low-investment Nicole at C0 without her signature weapon performs below Bennett. The gap closes quickly with good artifacts and Celestial Gift, but go in with realistic expectations if you're pulling her at base constellation.
Should you pull for Nicole?
Nicole is a strong pull if you already have Durin or plan to pull him. The two characters are designed around each other, and their combined output in premium teams is genuinely competitive with the top of the current meta. For players building multiple teams for Spiral Abyss or Stygian Onslaught, she provides coverage that Bennett never could: a teamwide buff with no field-time restriction, a real shield, and off-field damage that responds to your active character's element.
If you don't have Durin and aren't planning to pull him, Nicole still has value in Pyro, Electro, and Anemo teams, but her return on investment is lower. The comparison to Bennett is unavoidable at low investment levels, and Bennett is free.
