Gray Zone Warfare update 0.5.1.0 went live on November 5, 2026, addressing Rogue Ops issues with changes to enemy AI, the Hideout economy, and bug fixes across combat, tasks, weapons, and servers. Enemies now get less precise information from gunfire, while Hideout activities offer better rewards.

The patch follows October’s Rogue Ops 0.5 update, which moved the game from pre-alpha to alpha. That release introduced the Hideout alongside new locations, missions, mechanics, and expanded endgame activities.

Developed and published by MADFINGER Games, the tactical MMOFPS takes place on Lamang Island. Players join one of three Private Military Companies, complete contracts, and scavenge equipment through PvE and PvEvP combat.

Hideout rewards rise and processing takes less time

The Hideout economy changes cover material handovers, manufacturing, and smuggling. Rewards for handing over Hideout materials have increased, and manufactured Hideout products sell for more. Smuggling tasks pay more, while smuggling backpacks also have higher sale prices.

Production and disassembly times have been reduced. Selected building and disassembly materials are smaller and lighter, reducing the inventory space and carrying weight needed to transport them.

The Gray Zone Warfare Rogue Ops 0.5 guide covers the Hideout and other systems introduced in the earlier update. This patch also updates material icons to match their new sizes and fixes a production progress bar that could disappear when players had enough resources for another recipe.

Task, weapon, and server fixes remove blockers

Task progression receives several fixes. Chameleon tasks and other assignments could previously be blocked by a nearby task. Vendor-sent task items could also be destroyed or lost during the 0.5 character update, preventing progress. Both issues are addressed.

Handing over task items twice in quick succession should no longer take items or money twice while counting the contribution once. The smuggling bag also stays in its task loot box so the pickup objective can be completed.

Other practical fixes include:

  • Repairs: Items can be repaired when players have exactly the required money, and repair timers no longer run endlessly.
  • Movement: Overencumbered players can stand after going prone, and players can sprint directly from prone.
  • Weapons: Knife attacks receive a fix for missed damage, particularly at low stamina. Bullets that hit armor or ricochet also receive fixes for missing wounds, bleeding, or knockdown.
  • Squads: Region changes by a squad leader no longer send members to different servers.

The update also fixes crashes involving optic attachments, tutorial exits, and servers. MADFINGER Games is already working on update 0.5.2.0, with further fixes planned as it reviews feedback, including concerns about AI enemies taking too many shots to kill.
