WARDOGS Season 3 launches globally on Steam on November 12, bringing a new urban map, Limited Mode, and multi-track unlocks. BULKHEAD and publisher Team17 are pairing the new content with progression changes for the 100-player tactical shooter.
The urban battlefield focuses on close-quarters combat, with tight corridors and narrow angles. BULKHEAD wants the whole community to learn the map together at launch, bringing back the shared discovery that marked the game's Early Access debut. Everyone starts without an established knowledge of its routes.
Limited Mode caps equipment, not your earnings
Limited Mode is a separate playlist designed to preserve the feel of early-to-mid-game combat throughout the season. Restrictions cover weapons, ammunition, armour, and vehicles, reducing the advantage players can get from more powerful equipment. The aim is a more level playing field, not a guarantee that every loadout will be equal.
BULKHEAD has outlined these planned restrictions:
| Equipment category | Planned restriction |
|---|---|
| Ammunition | FMJ ammunition only |
| Armour | Tier 2 cap |
| Attack vehicles | Reduced selection |
The final restricted-item list is still being determined, so these are planned limits rather than a complete launch ruleset.

Limited Mode equipment choices
Equipment restrictions sit inside a game where players purchase a custom loadout each life, spending cash on weapons, gear, utility, and vehicles. Cash persists between matches. Team actions, including reviving squadmates, transporting friendlies, and controlling the objective, reward players with more money to spend on later deployments.
Cash and XP are shared in both directions between Limited Mode and the default mode. You can choose the restricted equipment pool without locking those earnings away from the main experience, or return to Limited Mode after earning resources in the default playlist.
A seasonal reset and more flexible unlocks
Season 3 includes a season wipe, and the announced season duration is three months. Progression is being brought closer to Season 1's pace.
October's WARDOGS Season 2 added weather, tanks, and faction incentives. BULKHEAD has acknowledged that its progression moved too quickly, cutting short the sense of achievement the studio wants players to get from the climb. Season 3's adjustment addresses that pace alongside the reset.
Multi-track unlocks change which roles you need to play to reach certain items. Equipment suited to more than one role will appear on multiple progression tracks, giving players more than one route to the same unlock. The change applies to eligible items, not every piece of equipment.

Unlocks across multiple roles
For those shared items, you can stay with a role you enjoy instead of grinding another role solely to reach its equipment. The progression pace and the route to an unlock are separate changes: the climb is being adjusted, while some rewards become accessible through more tracks.
Anti-cheat action accompanies the season reveal
BULKHEAD also announced a ban wave covering 185,000 accounts. The studio is activating further anti-cheat layers after using machine learning to analyse 187 million hours of gameplay, bringing that work forward from its original plans for next year.
WARDOGS has reached nearly 4 million unique players since launch. BULKHEAD says the volume of gameplay data allowed it to accelerate its anti-cheat work. The announcement places those measures alongside the season's focus on progression and stability.
Enforcement extends beyond cheating software. BULKHEAD has issued permanent bans against exploiters, real-money traders, and gold-farming networks, and has revoked some server-hosting privileges. A player trust score and further anti-cheat measures are planned for 2027.
Full Season 3 patch notes are due before launch. Larger metagame changes, including a new progression system, are planned for 2027 as development continues toward WARDOGS 1.0.
