The World Tree is one of the most sought-after locations in Palworld 1.0, but you can't just walk up to it. Getting inside requires Panthalus, a legendary level 70 Pal, in your active party. The whole chain runs through Sunreach Island, a boss fight, a four-part scavenger hunt, and a summoning ritual before you even see the capture screen. Here's the full path.
How do you get to Sunreach Island first?
Before Panthalus is even on the table, you need to reach Sunreach Island. The access point is a portal sitting at the top of Feybreak Tower. Climb the tower, step through the portal, and you'll land on Sunreach. If you haven't made it there yet, check out our guide on how to reach Sunreach Island for the exact route.
Once you're on the island, a barrier blocks your path to the boss tower. To bring it down, you need to interact with six terminals scattered across Sunreach. They're spread out, so expect to do some exploring, but none of them are hidden behind puzzles. Just find each one and activate it.

How to beat Auri and Shaolong at Sunreach Tower
With all six terminals deactivated, the boss tower opens up. Inside, you'll face Auri and Shaolong as a duo encounter. The fight isn't the hardest thing in the game, but being at an appropriate player level matters. Coming in underleveled will make this a slog. Check the Palworld map and level zones guide if you're unsure whether you're ready for this region.
After the fight, speak with Auri. She'll explain the World Tree's significance and point you toward the Panthalus location. This conversation is what unlocks the next step, so don't skip the dialogue.
How do you get the Echoing Flute?
At the Panthalus location, you'll find an NPC who gives you a quest: collect four giant remains from four separate spots on the map. All four locations are near towers, so you can teleport directly to each one without much travel time.
Once you have all four remains, head back to your base and craft the Echoing Flute. With the flute in hand, return to the Panthalus Shrine where the NPC is waiting. Use the flute there to trigger the boss fight.
How to defeat and capture Panthalus
Panthalus is a level 70 boss with two distinct phases. Going in without knowing the attack patterns will get you killed fast.
Phase one: targeting the crystal
Panthalus has a large crystal on its head. Shots that connect with the crystal deal increased damage, so prioritize that as your primary target. The biggest hazard in this phase is the tidal wave attack. Getting caught inside a wave deals significant damage, so watch the animation cues and move clear before it lands.

Phase two: body slam danger
As Panthalus loses health, the fight shifts. You'll move closer to the Pal, and while it takes more damage in this phase, it starts throwing out body slam attacks. These hit hard if you're directly underneath, so keep moving and don't stand still after dealing damage.
Once Panthalus runs out of health, use a Pal Sphere to capture it. Standard capture rules apply, so higher-tier spheres improve your odds.
How do you enter the World Tree?
With Panthalus in your active party, navigate to the marked World Tree location on your map. As you approach, you'll find a terminal near the entrance. Interact with it and the gates open. That's your access granted.
