How to salvage Coralum Ore from the ocean
Riding a water Pal is the first requirement. Once you're mounted on the water, look for floating debris scattered along coastlines and out in open ocean. These salvage points appear throughout the seas and are your fastest route to coralum if you only need a moderate amount.
To actually collect from debris, you need a fishing rod in your inventory. The advanced fishing rod, unlocked at level 45, is the best option for this. For debris in high-level zones like around the Isle of the Glacial Core, you'll also need powerful fishing magnets, a technology tier 62 unlock. Without them, you can still pull coralum from lower-level debris, but the drop rate is noticeably worse.

When you interact with a debris pile, a minigame starts. Press F on keyboard or X/Square on controller when the marker hits the green section of the circle. Missing doesn't consume your fishing magnet or destroy the debris point, so keep trying until you land it.
How to farm Coralum Ore with Whalaska breeding
If you need coralum ore in bulk, breeding Whalaska is the most reliable long-term solution. Whalaska is Pal number 150 in the Paldeck, and it drops coralum ore when disassembled. The Isle of the Glacial Core on the northern part of the map is where you'll find them in the wild.
To set up the breeding pipeline:
- Capture a male Whalaska and a female Whalaska from the Isle of the Glacial Core.
- Place both in your breeding farm with cake in the farm chest.
- Collect the eggs that appear and hatch them in a large incubator.
- Once you have a stock of Whalaskas, build the Pal Disassembly Conveyor, unlocked at technology level 56 for 5 points.
- Load Whalaskas into the conveyor. Each one processed guarantees at least one coralum ore alongside other materials.
This setup takes more time to establish than ocean salvaging, but once it's running, you have a repeatable source that doesn't require riding around the ocean hunting debris spawns.
Neptilius also drops coralum ore and can be found as an Alpha battle on the same island, so if you happen to breed Neptilius or encounter one naturally, it's worth running through the disassembly conveyor too. That said, Whalaska is far easier to hunt down in numbers, making it the better choice for dedicated farming.
