Phasmophobia Aswang Guide: Evidence ...

The Alan Wake crossover event in Phasmophobia drops a new tool into your investigation kit that most players walk right past on their first run. The Angel Lamp sits quietly in the truck, and the game gives you almost no explanation of what it does or why you should care. Here's the short version: it destroys shadow figures scattered across the event maps, earns you event points for each one, and makes your ghost hunts less visually cluttered. Knowing how to use it properly separates a solid event score from a mediocre one.

Where do you find the Angel Lamp?

The Angel Lamp spawns in a fixed location every time: on the dashboard next to the monitor screen inside the truck. You do not need to search the map for it. It is only available on the 4 maps included in the Alan Wake event, which are Elderwood Palace Lodge, Coffee World, Oh Deer Diner, and Cauldron Lake. If you load into any other map, the lamp will not appear.

What does the Angel Lamp actually do?

During the Alan Wake event, all four maps are populated with shadow figures, dark silhouettes that wander the location independently of the actual ghost you are investigating. These figures do not directly harm you or interfere with your investigation mechanics, but they can cause visual confusion, especially when you are trying to track ghost activity in low-light conditions.

The Angel Lamp is the only tool that can remove them. No other equipment interacts with shadow figures, and they cannot be banished any other way.

How to activate the Angel Lamp

Using the lamp is straightforward:

  1. Pick up the Angel Lamp from the truck dashboard.
  2. Equip it like any standard piece of investigation gear.
  3. Face a shadow figure directly.
  4. Hold down the Use button while aimed at the shadow.

The lamp activates at any time you press Use, but the effect only registers when you are pointing it at an actual shadow figure. Activating it in an empty room wastes nothing since it has unlimited uses, but you will not earn any points unless a shadow is in your sights.

How many event points does banishing shadows earn?

Each shadow figure you banish with the Angel Lamp awards 2 event points at the base rate. That number scales upward depending on the difficulty level you are playing on. Higher difficulties multiply the point value, so running harder modes is the most efficient way to farm event points from this activity.

You can review exactly how many points you earned from shadow banishes in the end-of-round stats screen.

What else should you do in the Alan Wake event?

Shadow banishing is one part of a larger set of event activities. Collecting hidden items and solving puzzles also contribute to your point total and unlock cosmetic rewards. Our guide on finding all secret Charm locations covers every possible spawn point across all four event maps, which pairs well with your Angel Lamp runs since you will be covering the same ground.

The Angel Lamp is one of the simpler mechanics in the Alan Wake event, but players who ignore it leave a meaningful chunk of event points on the table every run. Grab it from the truck, clear the shadows as you investigate, and let the difficulty multiplier do the rest.
