Phasmophobia Alan Wake Event Guide: How to Solve the Third Doll Puzzle

The third Doll Puzzle in Phasmophobia's Alan Wake crossover event is the hardest of the three, and it's not particularly close. No hints, no guidance, just a cryptic poem from Mr. Scratch and four Dolls scattered across multiple maps. Solve it correctly and you unlock the full Saga Anderson Cosmetic set. This guide covers everything: the riddle breakdown, exact Doll locations, and the correct placement for each one.

What do you need before attempting the third Doll Puzzle?

The three Doll Puzzles unlock in sequence. You cannot access the third until you've completed the first and second. If you're still working through the earlier ones, check out the full Alan Wake crossover event walkthrough for a complete rundown of how the event progression works.

You also need all 13 Dolls collected across the event maps before you can finish this puzzle, since it draws from Dolls found on different maps. The third puzzle specifically requires four of them.

How to solve the third Doll Puzzle

The riddle for the third puzzle is the longest one in the event. Here it is in full, as it appears in-game:

Quote icon

My time has come and here I come To gift them with my love An act of kindness and generosity To blow their heads, figuratively and concretely The whole, sweet family as they summoned ME The little girl first, I push her down the tree Her neck snaps, a funny crack, I giggle with glee The mother then starts with an ugly sound I stab her in the eye It makes her sigh and quiet down I save the father and the baby last I don't want this to be over all too fast He holds her close as he runs from me But I can still see them, I can still see I fire the pistol only once The bullet pierces more hearts than one And this is my work of art, my magnum opus done I'm Mr. Scratch, the devil, the trickster god I step out of the dark: this is my time in the sun

Breaking it down by character:

  • The little girl is pushed out of a tree ("I push her down the tree")
  • The mother gets stabbed in the eye ("I stab her in the eye")
  • The father holding the baby is shot through the heart ("the bullet pierces more hearts than one")
  • Mr. Scratch, the trickster, steps into the sun ("this is my time in the sun")

Each line maps directly to one of the four symbol drawings on the puzzle board.

What is the correct Doll placement for the third puzzle?

Here is the exact solution, based on the riddle breakdown above:

Place them in any order, but make sure each Doll lands on the correct symbol. The puzzle completes as soon as the fourth Doll is placed correctly.

Where to find all four Dolls for the third puzzle

This is where things get time-consuming. The four required Dolls are spread across two different maps, so you'll need to run multiple sessions to collect them all.

Child girl Doll (Coffee World / Camp Woodwind)

This is the trickiest one to spot. Head to the center of the map and find the pole with lights strung around it. Look down at the cardboard box sitting behind that pole. The child Doll is tucked there, easy to walk past if you're not looking at ground level.

Mother Doll (Elderwood Palace Lodge / Bleasdale Farmhouse)

Go upstairs to the room filled with dolls. Walk in and head to the left corner of the room. The mother Doll (identifiable by her curly blonde hair and pink and red striped cape) sits on a table there.

Father with baby Doll (Oh Deer Diner / Nell's Diner)

Find the breakroom on this map. The man holding a baby Doll sits on the table behind the door leading into the breakroom, right next to the water cooler. Hard to miss once you're in the right room.

Jester Doll (Coffee World / Camp Woodwind)

Back at Coffee World, look for the white food tent closest to the bathroom. The jester Doll sits on a table underneath it.

What reward do you get for completing the third Doll Puzzle?

Finishing this puzzle unlocks the complete Saga Anderson Cosmetic set, three wearable items based on the outfit Saga Anderson wears in Alan Wake. Once the puzzle registers as complete, head to the main menu screen and select Accept to claim all three pieces.

The set is the main cosmetic prize for finishing all three Doll Puzzles, so this is the payoff for everything you've been working toward across the event. For a look at other cosmetics available during the event, the guide to finding all 13 Dolls across the event maps has additional context on what's available and where to look.

The Alan Wake event has a lot of moving parts across multiple maps. For everything else tied to Words of Power, point scoring, and the full event structure, the Phasmophobia guides collection has you covered on all fronts.
