Demon Horns sit behind almost every breathing style unlock in Slayers 2, and the game never tells you where to find them. No shop stocks them, no quest drops a guaranteed stack, and the drop system works on individual rolls per kill. Your horn count comes down to one thing: how many demons you can cycle through before your patience runs out. Here is exactly where to go and what to fight.

Where do Demon Horns drop in Slayers 2?

Demon Horns are an Uncommon-rarity crafting material that only falls from demon-type enemies. Four enemies are worth building a route around, and they split cleanly by difficulty tier.

EnemyLocationDropChance
Hoyuzo SubordinateWaterfall cave, Bamboo GroveDemon Horns x1~30%
Hoyuzo (Lv 52 boss)Back of the waterfall caveDemon Horns x350%
Blood Hounded DemonMistfall Harbor caveDemon Horns x1varies
High DemonIceveil Valley tundraDemon Horns x1-250%

The Hoyuzo Subordinates are the default answer for anyone below level 40. They hit hard enough to keep things interesting but are manageable for a mid-20s character with a basic breathing style equipped. High Demons have the best per-kill rate among regular spawns, but they live in endgame territory and group-aggro easily.

How to reach the waterfall cave in Bamboo Grove

The cave has no map marker and no door prompt. The entrance sits behind a waterfall, which means most players run past it on their first visit. Here is the exact path.

Step 1: Start at Windy Peak and follow the dirt path through the red torii gates downhill. Use the gate line as your guide until the Bamboo Grove location label appears on screen.

Step 2: Keep moving through the bamboo until you spot Tom, the NPC associated with the Mother Bear quest. Tom on your right means you are heading the correct direction. Follow the paper-lantern-lined path toward the sound of falling water.

Step 3: At the cliff edge near the waterfall, drop down into the pool below. Walk or swim directly into the waterfall face. The passage opens into the cave on the other side.

Once inside, NPC Wagwan waits near the entrance with two optional quests targeting Hoyuzo's guards and the boss himself. You do not need to accept either quest for horns to drop, so feel free to skip past him and start clearing.

How to farm Hoyuzo Subordinates efficiently

The front chamber of the cave holds multiple Hoyuzo Subordinates on a short respawn timer. Clear the room, collect drops, and wait for the next wave. Each kill rolls independently at roughly 30%, so expect to kill three or four enemies per horn on average rather than hitting every drop.

A few things that speed the loop up considerably:

  • Set Bamboo Grove Sanctuary as your active respawn crystal before starting. A death sends you back to the crystal, not the main spawn.
  • Fight enemies one at a time. Pulling multiple Subordinates when your gear is not yet optimized turns a manageable grind into a quick death.
  • Pick up each horn immediately after the kill. In group sessions, loot can be easy to miss when the room gets chaotic.

For Water Breathing, you need 30 horns, which works out to roughly 100 Subordinate kills at the 30% rate. Flame Breathing only costs 10, so even a short session covers it.

Should you fight the Hoyuzo boss?

Hoyuzo, The Sickle Reaper waits at the back of the tunnel at level 52 with 1,445 HP. His 50% chance to drop three horns per kill is the best single-target rate in the cave, but he is a different fight from the Subordinates in the front room.

His full loot table:

DropChance
EXP x100Guaranteed
Demon Horns x350%
Hoyuzo's Haori (Lv 52)12%
Muzan's Blood x110%
Sickles x1 (Lv 52)5%
Sickles x1 (Lv 52)5%

The two Sickle entries are separate rolls, so one kill can award both. Muzan's Blood is the standout secondary drop here since it is required to become a demon in Slayers 2.

What about Iceveil Valley and Mistfall Harbor?

Iceveil Valley High Demons

Past the Mother Bear area and the Caden boss fight, the snowy tundra fields contain High Demon spawns. These enemies carry a 50% drop chance and can award two horns per kill, making them the most efficient regular spawn in the game. The catch is that their AI is sharper than anything in the waterfall cave, and several can aggro simultaneously. Bring a friend or wait until your build handles the cold zone comfortably.

Mistfall Harbor cave

Blood Hounded Demons inside the Mistfall Harbor cave cast Blood Demon Arts, so standing still is a bad habit here. Spawn from the Mistfall Harbor crystal in Mistfall Village and ride toward the cave entrance. This location makes sense if you are already farming near the harbor for other materials or working toward Thunder Breathing, which requires Wall Climb and has its trainer near the mountain summit in the same region.

How many Demon Horns do you need for each breathing style?

Your horn target depends entirely on which breathing style you are chasing. Not every style requires them, but the ones that do vary significantly in cost.

Breathing StyleDemon HornsOther RequirementsTrainer Location

Sound10Level 25, Wall ClimbTengai, high cliffs in Iceveil Valley

Serpent20Level 25, 5 Beast CoresObari, cliff above Windy Peak starting area
Water30Level 25, 5,000 WenUnderwater cave near Bamboo Grove
Wind50Level 25Snowy biome from the bear area

A few details worth knowing before you hand anything in. Serpent Breathing trainer Obari takes the horns first, then reveals the Beast Core requirement separately. You will not finish his quest on the first delivery. For the Beast Cores, target Beast Born Demons around Mistfall Village and the Harbor area. For the Wen requirement on Water Breathing, collect Ginzo's Jewelry Box from his home in the Village Hidden in the Mist and return it to him, which unlocks selling loot to Ginzo at Mistfall Harbor.
