The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Guide: All Cat Locations

Cats are everywhere in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, and collecting all 50 of them is one of the most rewarding side activities in the game. Unlike the hostile animals you fight throughout the Kingdom of Huther, cats are passive — but that doesn't mean they're easy to find. Some will bolt the moment they spot you, and many are tucked away inside dungeons, caves, and areas that require specific abilities or items to reach. Miss a handful early on and you'll be backtracking through zones you thought you'd finished.

This guide covers every cat location across all four Ages, explains how to unlock the collection system, breaks down every reward you can earn, and flags the three special cats tied to the true ending questline. How do you unlock cat collecting in The Adventures of Elliot?

You'll spot cats early in the game but can't interact with them yet. The collection mechanic only opens up after you complete the "Capricious Neighbors" side quest in the Age of Safekeeping. This quest introduces the Ailurophilic Traveler, a cat-eared figure who wants to see the streets of Huther filled with felines.

Two cats are collected automatically during this quest, leaving 48 more to track down across the game's four Ages. The Ailurophilic Traveler acts as your hub for checking progress — talk to them at any time to see how many cats remain in your current Age and in total.

You can also check whether a dungeon or cave you've already visited still has a cat inside by selecting it on the map and looking for a cat icon next to the location name.

What rewards do you get for collecting cats?

Every milestone with the Ailurophilic Traveler pays out a different item. Here's the full breakdown:

The cat needle is the one you want first. It's the item that enables map tracking, which turns a frustrating hunt into a manageable checklist. The bomb pouch and quiver are solid mid-game upgrades, and the Medal of the Katzenmeister at 50 cats is the full-completion trophy.

All Age of Safekeeping cat locations

Two cats are collected during "Capricious Neighbors," so you're hunting 11 more in this Age.

The Geared Ruins cat is the trickiest of the three true ending cats. You need to complete the entire dungeon to reach it, and it won't appear at all until the other two story-locked cats have been found.

All Age of Budding cat locations

The final Age has 12 cats, with one locked behind the true ending quest.

Where are the three true ending cats?

Three cats across the four Ages are tied directly to the true ending questline and won't join Huther on your first encounter. Here's where each one is and what triggers their availability:

  • Mount Phoenix (Age of Reconstruction): East side of the first map. Appears after reaching a specific point in the true ending quest.
  • Geared Ruins (Age of Magic): At the end of the dungeon. Requires the other two true ending cats to be found first, then completing the full Geared Ruins dungeon.
  • Grandtree (Age of Budding): Just left of the entrance. Appears after progressing the true ending questline.

When you first encounter these cats, they'll have dialogue but won't follow you. That's expected behavior. Progress the story and they'll eventually make their way to Huther.

If you enjoy this kind of collectible hunting in action adventure games, The Adventures of Elliot has plenty more secrets worth tracking down.
