Fruit of Vitality Location in DragonSword Awakening

Luto is one of the more self-sufficient fighters in DragonSword: Awakening. His ability to heal without relying on food or potions makes him a natural pick for frontline roles, and his value only grows as enemy levels scale up. Pushing him past his Level 30 cap requires a Breakthrough, and that means tracking down Fruit of Vitality, a material that stumps a lot of players because it only grows in one very specific place.

Where does Fruit of Vitality spawn?

Fruit of Vitality is an aquatic plant. It grows exclusively around lakes, floating directly on the water's surface. You won't find it in forests, on hillsides, or near any dry terrain, which is exactly why players waste time searching in the wrong places. Any major lake in the open world can host a few nodes, but two locations stand out as the most efficient spots to farm.

Hill of Journey

Hill of Journey is the most accessible farming spot, especially early in the game. The lakes here contain several gathering nodes close together, and the area is easy to reach from your base. If you need to top up your stock quickly between other activities, this is the default stop.

Firefly Forest

Firefly Forest is the second reliable outdoor source. The lakes scattered through this region also carry multiple Fruit of Vitality plants. Running both areas back to back on a single farming loop gives you a solid haul without much travel time.

tip
Activate every Eona's Legacy tower and Statue of Organa you encounter while exploring. Fast travel between these two zones cuts your farming time significantly.

How to farm Fruit of Vitality through dungeons

Open-world gathering is fine for passive accumulation, but if you need a large quantity fast, the Coastal Cliff Cave Outpost dungeon is the better option. It's located southeast of Shadowed Forest and drops guaranteed Fruit of Vitality on completion.

The reward scales directly with difficulty:

Running this on Very Hard is the single fastest way to stack the material. If your party can handle it, skip Normal entirely.

Can you buy Fruit of Vitality?

Yes, through the Exchange shop. The cost is 2 Adventurer's Emblems per fruit. That said, spending emblems here is generally a bad trade. Adventurer's Emblems are better saved for rarer materials that can't be farmed in the open world or through dungeons. Only use the Exchange if you're one or two fruits short and don't want to run another dungeon.

warning
Don't burn your Adventurer's Emblems stocking up on Fruit of Vitality. The open-world nodes and dungeon drops are more than enough to cover what Luto's Breakthrough requires.

What else does Luto's Breakthrough need?

Fruit of Vitality is just one piece. Luto also requires two tiers of Monster Bone Fragments, both sourced from the Corrupted Bedchamber dungeon.

You'll need both grades, so plan on running Corrupted Bedchamber twice at different difficulty settings. World bosses can also drop these fragments, but the dungeon is more consistent.

What are the full Breakthrough requirements for Luto?

Having all the materials isn't enough on its own. The game gates Luto's Breakthrough behind two progression conditions that catch a lot of players off guard.

Required materials:

  • Fruit of Vitality
  • Lowest-Grade Monster Bone Fragment
  • Low-Grade Monster Bone Fragment

Required progression:

  • Complete Mission No. 40
  • Reach Intermediate Mercenary Corps Rank

Once both conditions are met and your inventory has the crafting materials, open Luto's character menu and trigger the Breakthrough. His level cap extends to Level 40.

important
Check your Mercenary Corps Rank before farming materials. If you haven't finished Mission No. 40, the Breakthrough option won't appear regardless of what's in your bag.

What's the fastest overall farming route?

For most players, the optimal path is:

  1. Hit the lakes at Hill of Journey and Firefly Forest during normal exploration to build a passive stockpile.
  2. Run Coastal Cliff Cave Outpost on Very Hard for 10 fruits per clear if you need to catch up fast.
  3. Clear Corrupted Bedchamber on Normal for Lowest-Grade fragments, then again on Hard for Low-Grade fragments.
  4. Push the main campaign to Mission No. 40 and raise your Mercenary Corps Rank to Intermediate.
  5. Trigger the Breakthrough from Luto's character screen.

The dungeon route is the most time-efficient if you're behind on materials. The open-world route is better if you're already progressing through the story naturally and just want to gather as you go.

Build Luto into a stronger team after his Breakthrough

Once Luto clears his Level 40 cap, he becomes a genuinely durable frontliner worth investing in further. To get the most out of him, check the DragonSword: Awakening character tier list to see how he stacks up against the rest of the roster, and pair that with the best team compositions guide to build a party that plays to his self-sustain strengths.

If you want to keep pushing his stats after the Breakthrough, the hero upgrade systems guide covers all four upgrade paths including Karma and Awakening. For everything else DragonSword has to offer, the full DragonSword: Awakening strategy guide collection has you covered.
